BOUANG Asian Eatery

This place is very popular and, to be honest, I believe it is mainly because of the atmosphere rather than the food. The food is rather average, looks better than taste and not particularly memorable. I tried the traditional Laotian dips, which were very nicely presented but tasted only average. I also had Khao Soy Bouang–style and Lao meat balls, and none of these dishes stood out in any way. What really makes this place appealing is how comfortable it is to sit here and spend time. The setting is pleasant and relaxed. They also serve very good cocktails, nicely prepared and visually attractive. I think it is the atmosphere and the drinks that mainly attract tourists.

One of the absolute best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Every dish was outstanding — bursting with incredible flavours. The highlight for us was the Nem Khao with vegetables, a dish we tried for the first time. Its crispy yet juicy texture and out-of-this-world flavours truly impressed us! The red curry with tofu and the veggie burger were also excellent. The service was exceptional. When we informed the staff about our allergies, they went above and beyond — even replacing the burger patty after it had already been served, despite us notifying them quite late. Located in the heart of the historic district, the restaurant overlooks the main street, making it the perfect spot for an evening out. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

This restaurant has something magical in it. Climate in the evening is absolutely amazing and worth staying. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. Meals are so delicious, that I could eat whole menu.. if i had more time i would be coming back there every evening. Such a great way of arranging plates and food.

First of all, it's very accessible if you are walking and everything is decorated nicely. Service was good. We came for lunch and it didn't disappoint - the lao style khao soy and the lao sausage were really good. The greenie juice didn't quite hit the spot though.

Great Laotian food at quite reasonable prices! The mango spring rolls and the tilapia were the highlights. Recommend making a reservation (FB messenger), as it’s not a big restaurant and is full during peak hours

Nice view of the street with great service. Food is a little disappointing, the gnocchi was small portion and very salty. The ice tea tasted watered down. The mix fruit shake was okay and the Buddha bowl was good.

It was our second day in Luang Prabang. We asked Copilot 2 times, and it recommended this restaurant. Food is perfect, good service, good price. Good location also. If you plan to visit Phousi Mountain. It is just a few metres from the exit.

A lovely little place with fresh delicious food. Over the course of a few days we ate a variety of different meals here including the Smashburger, which was super flavorful and fresh with fresh homemade french fries with potato skin on and salad. My son raved about the iced chocolate milk drink, and we also enjoyed the fresh hibiscus kombucha. The food came out quite quickly and service was wonderful.
