We had friends in town and added Bouchaine as a stop to our day in wine country. We were so happy we did! The property is very beautiful with both a cute garden or a really nice terrace. We were seated in the Garden as it is also dog friendly and had plenty of shade, chairs etc. The wines themselves were also very good. The standout was the PInot Blanc but what was more impressive was Gigi, our host. She had the right balance of knowledge, engagement but also letting us enjoy the wine. She was funny, and also had some great recommendations for our next trips up to Sonoma and Napa. We joined and are excited to be members of Bouchaine and cannot wait for our first shipment!

Amazing experience!! Victor was absolutely incredible, gave us great information, had amazing knowledge of the wine, the environment, and everything we could have asked. Wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat!!

Bouchaine Vineyard is an absolute gem in Napa! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality by our host Rob. The grounds are stunning-peaceful, beautifully maintained, and with breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards. The tasting experience was exceptional; every wine we tried was thoughtfully crafted and full of character. Rob was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing the history of the vineyard and guiding us through each pour with passion and expertise. Bouchaine is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable and elevated wine tasting experience. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful views from the terrace tasting and Júlia was a fantastic host, bubbly and knowledgeable. Wines were also great, we liked specially the Pommard Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier!

We are wine club members and love their wines, but our in person experiences have really fallen short. Our first visit (probably 7 or 8 years ago?) was impromptu after hiking. We stopped in and the woman working had no interest in helping us but was very friendly to the large tour group. We sat for a while until another staff member came to serve us. He really turned the visit around for us—we enjoyed the visit and the wines and ended up joining the wine club and also buying a case. The woman who ignored us before suddenly had lots of interest in us and came and sat with us and gave us all sorts of recommendations on restaurants. We laughed about this experience until our next visit which was just last year. We were excited to give the in person visit another chance, to see the new building, and to share it with our friends we were traveling with. This experience was even worse than our initial visit. We had an appointment, and our host basically just came over to pour us wine and did not engage with us much. After each sample, we’d wait for quite while before she’d make her way back to us, and we were one of only two tables there, and she was not assisting the other table. We watched her talking with another coworker nearly the entire time while we felt ignored by them both. We were highly embarrassed that this was the experience our friends had. We will continue to get their wines because they are delicious, but we will no longer visit when we come to Napa (quite the bummer to feel this way as I’ve always wanted to do the falconry experience), and we will not be gifting any of our tastings to others as it really was just embarrassing and disappointing. Instead of feeling like they turned things around and the first visit was just a comical one off, now it solidified that other wineries are much more warm and welcoming.

Google
What an incredible place. I have lived in SF for 19 years and this may be one of my new top 5 fave wine spots. Thank you to Rob for making us feel so at home and really diving into the human and historical parts of the grapes, production, and vineyard. I left with quite a few bottles and encourage you to do the same. I was just blown away. 10/10

Lovely time tasting wines in the garden. Absolutely stunning view with an ever present breeze. Would fully recommend stopping in.

Google
Excellent wines, excellent location, and very accommodating staff..! The location doubled as a corporate event and wine tasting session that included epic views from inside and out. I needed private space to photograph several executives and the Bouchaine team was quick to set us up with an amazing, well-lit side room. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend for the wines or combine it with a family / corporate event.

Yelp
My friends have long been obsessed with Bouchaine Vineyards, and I was so excited to visit! They were able to book us a free tasting though their membership, and we opted for the Garden Tasting because it's dog-friendly. We were greeted with a fantastic glass of rosé (crisp and dry), and several welcoming staff members. The garden was beautifully landscaped, with plenty of seating in the sun and shade. We also had a view of the terrace and the beautiful building behind it. Our host Karen was super sweet and informative, and I lost track of how many wines we got to try (she brought out several that were not on the Garden Tasting list). I loved that she tailored the wine selection to our tastes! It doesn't happen often, but I loved every single wine we tried. I ended up buying a bottle of the Pinot Blanc, but was tempted by many of the others. I also loved that Karen brought us a water bowl and tennis ball for my dog. Would happily return for the wines and the ambiance!

Yelp
We are members of Bouchaine's wine club and thus far have been generally happy in most areas. Generally a very good winery with some growing pains. The atmosphere is great. Beautiful scenery and a nice tasting room. The wines are all very good. High quality and flavorful. They have nice little perks like their falconry class offerings. The only disappointment is the service. Most of the staff are good. But there have been some issues. The most glaring issue is how the lady that answers club member emails talks to club members. She has the charm of a rattlesnake. The responses when asking a question in email are cold, blunt, and lack any effort of making members feel welcome. A response like "No" is common. No apparent effort to address members by name, no evidence she lifted a finger to actually make an effort to accommodate, etc. These typical answers to email makes it feel like club members are a nuisance to her. Show more effort to accommodate and respect your club members and Bouchaine would earn the fifth star.

Yelp
Stunning views and amazing staff! We did the 4 wine tasting on a weekday and had a wonderful time chatting with Karen, who meticulously explained the origin of every wine we tried. We had originally booked for the garden but were automatically upgraded to the terrace since the garden was closed. Loveddd how private it felt, and even though the space was a bit smaller than I had imagined from pictures, the view was still breathtaking! We ended up going home with a bottle of the Las Brisas Pinot Blanc-- super tasty. A great way to spend an afternoon and not at all far from Napa proper!

Yelp
Wow! A must see in Napa! Not only are their wines wonderful their service and ambiance make for a magnificent experience! This was the terrace tasting and I think it's worth every penny! When booking a winery like this I don't think you can go wrong in any of the tastings!

Yelp
We went to this winery on a Monday, because it was on our way out of town and reservations were not necessary. A windy road to get there, which actually wasn't too far away. We went into the smaller tasting room because the fee seemed less, but they were closed and we were directed up the hill. We hadn't even noticed the beautiful architecture of the main winery! We went into and discovered the tasting was fairly price, but we could taste different wines from each other so we decided to go for it. We were seated outside, on comfy couches with a beautiful view. Our server was fantastic...fun and very informative. It turned out that the wines were absolutely delicious!! So we decided to join their wine club, which we discovered is the only way to purchase their wines. Plus, by joining, our tasting fee was waived. Win win! We also learned that you can gift a tasting to several friends/family in the course of a year which is fantastic because we have good friends who live in the area and had never tried their wines. I wished we lived closer (we are in Pasadena) because they have tastings with a birds of prey show. Will definitely check that out next time. This was a wonderful find, and we are looking forward to our next visit.

The views are beautiful here! We enjoyed all the wines we tasted and Mark was awesome! We will be back for sure!

Yelp
A gem, not to be missed. A feeling of traveling to Europe in your own Napa back yard. The scenery was exquisite, service fabulous, wines stand out exceptionally, and a beautiful place to hang. Try the wine tasting on the terrace, you'll thank me afterwards or even during. Stephanie The Stephanie Herman Show

Yelp
We had an amazing time on our garden tour at Bouchaine! The winery was beautiful, modern, and accommodated dogs! Our tour guide, Lisa, was great and went into a lot of detail on the wines! We learned a ton about their different Pinot Noir clones used at the vineyard, which were my favorite wines we tasted. The tour had 4 tastings but we were able to try 2 more wines. Look forward to visiting again!

Yelp
Bouchaine was one of our favorite Napa area winery experiences from the architecture to the wine itself. The great thing about Bouchaine is that it is one of (if not THE) closest wineries to downtown San Fran, so it's perfect for a day trip. We used the Priority Wine Pass to get a discount on our tasting which was advertised as choosing 5 wines to taste. However, upon arrival they immediately poured us their cheapest Rose (..we are not Rose All Day people..) and counted it as one of our 5 tastings! So be aware that, according to the booking, YOU get to choose your 5 wines to taste! Additionally, be upfront with your guide about what kind of experience you'd like or expect. What I mean by that is our guide was very chatty about their personal life - when we were there to learn about the wine and spend some quality family time together with our group. But instead - learned a LOT about our guide and his life. Which I found very odd. Maybe that's because I'm from the East Coast, but so was he. Would still go again though because the wine is that delicious and property is that beautiful! Don't forget to get the Pinot noir chocolate covered cherries on your way out!

Yelp
We enjoyed our tasting on the patio overlooking the estate. Service was friendly and attentive. Wine was light and easy to drink and enjoy. The chocolate pairing was yummy too.

Yelp
Beautiful property with great view of the vineyard. Excellent wines and fun place to spend some time relaxing. Service was great and very friendly.

Yelp
Came here with my friends for a quick get away out of the city. We are new to tasting, but our Guide Gigi did an excellent job providing knowledge about the wine while also giving us the chance to catch up with one another. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, enjoyable afternoon in wine country!

Yelp
This is a spot that friends of mine invited us to. It's definitely a gem in surrounded by the Napa Valley. It has beautiful views and landscapes overlooking the valley and vineyards. Our tasting host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines we had tasted. I was impressed enough to purchase a few bottles for home to serve and enjoy. A definite place to come back to for sure.

Yelp
We purchased the garden tier package and had the best experience ever! Our pourer provided the best service and we all agreed we learned so much about the wine from him. We also appreciated him going out of his way to let us try a wine that wasn't part of the tasting. And even though we had the garden tier, he still walked us around the top tier area on the new part of the property. Beautiful views from up there! But the garden experience was perfect for us and provided a nice, comfortable, laid back setting. The price of the tasting was well worth it and not overpriced as some of the other wineries in Napa can be. My friends even bought a membership because they have one of the easiest, preferable types! (Ask them about it). Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. Bonus- it's only an hour and a half from San Jose if you're from that area.

Yelp
This was a quick visit because it was almost closing time. Even with the shortened experience, Mark was very friendly and helpful and made a very entertaining, fun, and memorable visit. They had a great tasting overlooking a very beautiful vineyard. Will be back to spend more time.

Yelp
This is all about Jim, Jim, Jim! We loved our host whose name is, you guessed it, Jim! Incredible wines, yes, more interestingly, was the Hospitality that we were shown by Jim. He really cares about wine and the valley and connecting to people. Do not hesitate to stop at this winery. We did the tasting from the terrace, but the garden looked beautiful too. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
SERVICE: great, our server/bartender was really sweet and talked to us a lot trying to figure out which wines were right for us :) sucks that even though there are a lot of tables, we could not stay for them to uncork the wine bottle we just bought so we had to take it home WINE: as someone who is not a wine connoisseur, i liked the dessert wines! bottles go for like $40-55. AMBIANCE: on a sunny day, it's so beautiful! i do not think that the terrace view should be $30-$35 extra but they last minute upgraded us for free which was wonderful, and there weren't too many people around. it was peaceful. not too crazy of a view

Yelp
I was treated by a coworker for a lovely afternoon of tasting with some work ladies. We enjoyed the patio seating, fire pit and views until it was a bit too chilly then finished inside. Beautiful inside and out. They offer blankets and fire pits to keep you warm outside. Lots of Chardonnay and Pinots here. I wasn't familiar with their flagship wine, so it was all new to me. I tried about 5 wines, all were good. I came home with the sparkling I tried but there were some interesting wines on the menu. Some were sold out or not yet released since production is not huge (which is nice). They had a Pinot MEUNIER which was new to me. Most wineries use it as a blending grape but it was a standalone here. Dulci was our gal for the day and she was quite informative and friendly. Overall great afternoon, delicious wines, decent price points overall, and the chocolates I went home with are OUT of this world delicious!

Yelp
I'm already plotting my return back to Bouchaine. From their knowledgeable and friendly staff to their amazing views to their equally amazing wine selection, this is a must stop on any winery trip you make. If you're doing a tasting, definitely splurge for the terrace tasting. While the garden tasting looked nice especially with all of the greenery around, there was something so much more peaceful about enjoying some wine on the terrace.

Yelp
It's very rare that my man and I have time for just the two of us, but we took advantage of that moment during my birthday weekend. We had a whole day before we had to pick up the girls, and since we were in the Napa area, I searched on Yelp for a wine-tasting place. Woo hoo Bouchaine Vineyards! Pricey, but worth the price! What I loved about this place: 1. The view is gorgeous! We relaxed on their terrace where you can observe the remarkable verdure and the beauty of Carneros! 2. They have nice firepits and blankets to keep you warm! The Carneros region is cooler than the rest of the Napa Valley, but they have the means to keep you cozy! 3. Between the two of us, we had six wine tastings with generous pours! We enjoyed them all!!! 4. Our sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. I feel bad for not remembering her name, but it's the woman with short grayish hair. She was great! Overall, we had a fabulous time! Definitely one for the books!!

Yelp
We came to Napa to celebrate my friend's 40th. Of course when in Napa wine tasting is a must. My friend booked a wine tasting for 12. They were super accommodating for a big crowd. Our host was very knowledgeable regarding the wines that we were ti taste. It was a total of 6 wines. Due to the rain we were tasting in a conference room. I honestly wished we had a different place or area to wine taste instead of a conference room. Each person had to pay $85 for the wine tasting and no food included, as compared to other wineries. We all took our snacks out to eat as it wasn't a good idea to drink without any bites. For being my first wine tasting in Napa I wish there was more to it, but a good experience overall.

Yelp
This was the last vineyard we visited while in Napa recently and we went because I much prefer white wines and it popped up on a list of white wine spots. I gotta say, I think we may have saved the best for last! We got in early so we were the first tasting of the day, every wine was amazing. I did a series of white wines and everyone was distinctly delicious. Many were light, dry, flavorful but then we also had some dessert wines and our server had no problem giving us an extra tasting when we asked for one. Really excellent service throughout! And the views are awesome. You should pay the extra little bit for the upper area with the stone deck/patio and you get some amazing views out over the rolling hills. The couches and firepits were awesome. Will definitely return!

Yelp
**Review is based mostly on the Falconry Experience with Falconer, Rebecca** I surprised my husband with a falconry experience that Bouchaine offers. Rebecca is awesome! With 20 years as a falconer, she offers an opportunity to get up close & personal to these amazing animals, learn about their hunting patterns & personality traits; this was an experience like no other. Also, snuggling with Hootbert, the owl, was the sweetest thing ever! Our experience also included a wine tasting, my favorite was the Unoaked Chardonnay. We took a couple of bottles home along with their chocolate covered cherries -- definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
This was a recommendation through Local Wally who makes wonderful (and free) recommendations to wineries according to your travel situation - budget, occasion, etc. I was looking for a vineyard towards the south end of Napa County before heading out to Walnut Creek. Bouchaine offers garden and terrace tastings - I chose terrace for the elevated experience. ~$80/person including gratuity for my group of 8. There's a non-drinker fee for $35. No outside food permitted. Overall a wonderful spot to start/stop at for a Napa day trip.
google avatar

Jaky Y.

Yelp
Came to visit Bouchaine on a weekday for a wine tasting. The estate is beautiful with a great view outside. There was tons of seating both indoors and outdoors. The patio is particularly nice, and if the weather had been better, we would have loved to enjoy the fresh air. The terrace tasting we did was good but not amazing. We tried a variety of whites and reds and didn't love anything, especially considering the elevated prices. Service was fine, but we felt that we were excessively talked at by our server. Specifically, it was relatively empty when we arrived, and our server came over every few minutes. Each time she came by, she would monologue at us for easily 10+ minutes per time. Interestingly enough, once more people trickled in, our server pretty much disappeared to help other tables. She only came back to check on us once afterward, forgot to bring us something, and no longer seemed interested in talking to us anymore. It felt less educational and enjoyable as a wine tasting and more like nodding through a lecture. Parking is a bit confusing. They have a few spots off the road, and then you need to walk up a hill and go through a locked gate to climb more stairs to finally access the tasting room.

Yelp
We love this winery. It's so relaxing and the employees are super friendly especially Rob. He's very knowledgeable and explained why this particular area produces different wines that are different from the rest of the Napa region. The outdoor seating area is very relaxing and scenic. You don't have to participate in the wine tasting. Instead you could just get a bottle and enjoy it in the outdoor area. My family and I highly recommend the winery and their wines to anyone who would like to visit the Napa Valley.

Yelp
We had an ABSOLUTE amazing time during our Terrace Tasting today! Our server Jordan made our experience absolutely great! The wines we tasted (his personal favorites ), were spot on! We will definitely be back again!

Yelp
This was our first time at Bouchaine winery and we would 100% recommend! We had the best time out with the girlfriends. Jim, our wine educator killed it, he made our experience so over the top. The wine was excellent, stellar views and amazing ambiance. We ended up signing up for the wine club and can't wait to come back and tell all our friends about it! Ps, as we were leaving, Jaime helped take some amazing pictures for the gram lol
google avatar

Amber J.

Yelp
First winery in Napa! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place. We did the regular wine tasting package and they had an amazing selection of wines. Our server was so knowledgeable and made great conversation. It was also nice that they did give us enough time to sit, relax, & enjoy the wine, rather than constantly trying to talk to us. Lastly the views were honestly amazing. You can sit, drink wine, and look out at the view forever. I just wish they sold little snacks or something. (They do have a package were you can pair wines and cheeses, but thats about it; maybe we'll do that next time haha)

Yelp
TLDR: One of my favorite wineries in Napa, has an amazing selection of non-Cabernet Sauvignon (cab) wines including my favorite dessert wine of all time that I buy every time I visit. Also has a beautiful view from the seating area in the back and some of the friendliest, kindest sommeliers I've had the pleasure of meeting. Because Bouchaine is located in the southernmost part of Napa, it's able to produce the lighter wines that other, more northern parts of Napa aren't able to produce (which is why many other wineries produce lots of cab). Why you might like Bouchaine: 1. If you're new to wine or find yourself liking lighter, sweeter wines, I'd HIGHLY recommend Bouchaine. Their Late Harvest wine is my favorite dessert wine of all time (I buy multiple bottles every time I visit), and it's better than any riesling I've ever had anywhere. 2. If you want a more laid-back tasting with a beautiful view. You can make these tasting more serious too, but Bouchaine does a great job of letting you determine how intimate you want these tastings to be 3. If you want to stay relatively close to SF or the Napa County airport. This is one of the closest wineries to SF right off of Highway 12. I've also organized a large group outing for my firm at Bouchaine (~50 people) and they were not only affordable but also super accommodating of our team. Bouchaine will be top of mind for me the next time I want to plan a large tasting event in Napa. Finally, big shot out to Robert F for being so wonderful on all my visits to Bouchaine!

Vicky T.

Yelp
Had such a fun wine tasting experience here! We were a party of 7, unfortunately one person could no longer make it and they were able to refund her portion. We booked the garden view ($40 for 4 pours). I appreciated the variety of wines-- I, myself, prefer whites, so our server accommodated my tasting while everyone else had 2 whites and 2 reds. He was very interactive and funny, we enjoyed his service! He also poured us a complimentary Rosé to kickstart the tasting.
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
This vineyard is stunning. There are large areas for seating and entertainment, gardens galore and lots of very well spoken and knowledgeable employees that can answer almost any question you may have regarding the wine or the vineyard itself. They even brought out a lady who works with falcons, owls and hawks to keep away birds from their crops which was super interesting. I can't say I loved their wines that much, but the experience was well worth the visit.

Yelp
Loved this winery it was our favorite. It was a beautiful e-bike ride from Sonoma. Yes we rode bikes and we loved it. Jim took care of us, nice guy. You'll love the views and relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
Hidden gem with good vines and excellent location- One could bring there own food and sit in the garden- no food at the winery but very good wines and good staff

A C.

Yelp
Skip this winery if you are visiting Napa. The service was shockingly bad and it was a terrible experience. There is an older gentleman who continued to go out of his way to make us feel uncomfortable. His behavior was childish and creepy. The wine was better at the other vineyards we visited.

Rayann R.

Yelp
Bouchaine was an unexpected delight on our last day in Napa. We didn't have a reservation, but they graciously accommodated us at their adults only upper tasting room. The patio was comfortable and views were gorgeous. Mark was an amazing host and really made our visit extra special.

Yelp
I don't have enough good things to say about this place. It's such a hidden gem and amazing!!! This was our favorite place we went in Napa. The service was amazing, Jay was wonderful and knowledgeable and even let us look into the production area. They also had a guitarist playing music in the back. The gardens were beautiful and everyone was so so so friendly. not to mention the wine was great! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here.

Jack J.

Yelp
Brought the family here for my wife's birthday and had an awesome time. Jordan was excellent. Good dude. We'll be back

M. D.

Yelp
Had one of my most memorable lunches in wine country here. Service was impeccable, food was creative and delicious, and the views of the mountains and the vineyards were exemplary. Can't wait to go back!

Kimberly N.

Yelp
Went to Bouchaine twice now. Once two years ago and another time just a few weeks ago. Tastings are now $75 pp, it was roughly $30-35 before for the Terrace Tasting. None of the wines really stood out to me, but the grounds and winery were beautiful. I just can not justify the price for the tastings now. Those prices are high, even for Napa. Maybe I will host something with their Garden Experience option next time where you get a picnic table for 6 or less people and it includes 3 bottles of wine (rose, Pinot noir, and Chardonnay) for $150 total & they let you bring your own food. The staff here are extremely kind and thorough in explaining the wine.

Leigha D.

Yelp
Lovely views. Great location. Good wines. I'm just a little disappointed as a member they didn't serve food but the would not let us eat our till we finished drinking our wine.
google avatar

Yelp
I will be visiting this vineyard every time I go to Napa now! The views are remarkable! Loved visiting here in the fall because the leaves on the vines were so colorful. Wonderful hues of yellow, orange, and greens. Mark was such a great host. The chocolate covered cherries were ridiculously good with the wine!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
The service was amazing! My friends and I all did the standard tasting, and our host was very accommodating and even gave us extra tastings. We were able to pick and choose which wines we wanted to taste, so it was an individualized experience. The price is very reasonable for Napa. The dessert wines were especially delicious and sweet! The ambiance was very calm and relaxing. The garden was beautiful and the perfect setting for a couple of hours of wine tasting.

Yelp
Loved Bouchaine Winery. They set the bar so high for the rest of our wine tours that day (and in the end they were the best we visited by leaps and bounds). Came incredibly early, I think we were there right around when they opened, and it was just the four of us. It sounded like because our group was so small we were given the VIP treatment: run of the grounds, samples of anything and everything, and an intimate and detailed tour of the production facility (... while drinking, of course). Their wines were my favorite from that day's trip around Napa - I tried all of their reds, and appreciated how different and distinct each was. I can't remember now (#wine) but one I tried tasted just like SweeTarts - I think I could have sat there all day in the warm summer sun just drinking that. And their property? Absolutely. Without. A. Doubt. Stunning. I couldn't believe how much physical space there was - ample seating spread across a beautifully manicured garden overlooking rows and rows of vines. Whether you're a party of two or twenty, because of how much seating, styles of seating (benches, chairs, adirondacks, couches, etc.), and location of seating (in the sun, out of the sun, set apart, in the thick of things, under an umbrella, under a tree) there is -- you're going to have a private, unique experience from everyone else here. If I lived nearby, THIS would be where I came to enjoy a bottle with my friends. And if you're visiting and this isn't on your radar: rearrange your schedule so that it is. Not to be missed!

Brian C.

Yelp
The ambiance was incredible!! The host was very knowledgeable and engaging. Wines are pretty good also.

Yelp
Had a great time at this winery! Julie was such a great host! Very knowledgeable and fun to get to know. Thanks for a great start to the day!

Yelp
An amazing day with Lisa! We could not have asked for a better ending to our girls' trip! We had a private barre glass outside at the vineyard with stunning views of the bay followed by some bubbles and great laughs. The class was challenging but manageable for everyone and Lisa is knowledgeable and personable! I would do it again tomorrow!
