I recently had my first bouchon experience at this traditional spot in Presqu'île, and I was not disappointed. The concept at these bouchons is simple: you order a fixed-price menu with entrée, main, and dessert, or opt for à la carte. I went for à la carte, eager to try my first quenelle de briochet – and I enjoyed it.
The atmosphere was quintessentially bouchon: lively, bustling, and energetic. Service was a tad brusque, but I chalked it up to the authentic French experience.
We paid €66.5 for a shared starter, two mains, a shared dessert, tap water, and 250 cl of white wine. Bonus: bread's on the house (it is the case in all bouchons).
The only thing I would have improved is the dessert "riz au lait", whose flavour was completely overrun by the amount of nuts. I would have put a bit less for a smoother flavour. Also, the slice of pâté en croûte we were given as entrée was a bit broken ans not as meaty as we expected.
Would I go back? Sure, this cuisine lyonnaise (and the french in general) is not something I would have often (I find it heavy and too elaborated, especially for the summer) but once in a while is good to live the bouchon experience.
