This place was probably a dump before the hurricane, now, it's bad but its likely your only option. Paid $120 a night US, the only thing positive is, the AC actually worked. It was the darkest room I've ever been in, no hot water, no soap, electricity was working. The pizza is fantastic but that's the only bright spot. Do a lot of research before you come to Union island, I used as passage from Carriacou in Grenada to the ferry to St Vincent.

I would not class this as a hotel. I was in a standard room on the ground floor. The room is very basic. There is no kettle, no iron, no fridge. Prior to booking I emailed to ask if the room had WiFi and was told yes it did. I arrived on Monday 29th January, there was no WiFi. I reported this to the office, I was told she would report it to the company. The manager shared the office WiFi password with me, but in order to use it I would have to sit outside of the office, so had no privacy for calls. Cutting a long story short, my room had WiFi on the Thursday of the same week. By thenI had already decided to leave, not only for the lack of WiFi. ||There were a list of telephone numbers in the room to call like the office and so on but no telephone, how are you supposed to call as a tourist if you have no local phone. ||The place is in need of renovation. The bathroom is tired and dated. The toilet did not always flush properly. When I returned to my room on the Wednesday there was no water in the bathroom. The office was closed so I reported it to the bar staff. Water was fixed a couple of hours later, however there was no hot water. So had to shower in cold water.||I informed the office on the Thursday that I would be checking out the next day. i was originally meant to stay until the following Monday, however I couldn’t stay there anymore, I had had enough. When I went to check out the following day I asked if I would be refunded any money due to the poor facilities. The manager was trying to make excuses as if the poor service was acceptable. She reluctantly agreed to refund me one night. However since leaving she has charged me an additional charge for a late checkout fee even though I had already paid for that night. To date I have not received any refund.||I will definitely not stay here ever again and would not recommend it. It is a shame as the bar and restaurant is ok and has a nice view, but for me it was nightmare staying there and I would say it was a rip off . I’m still waiting for my one night refund although I should be refunded for 3 nights I could no longer stay there.

We had room 5 and 7. They were both very spacious with lovely decorations. |Beds in both rooms were very comfortable. |The little kitchen's were both very well equipped with fridges. |The showers were nice with hot water ( in room 7 the taps were the wrong way round ) |The upstairs rooms had lovely outdoor space with tables and chairs. |Underneath is a lovely restaurant also called Bouganvilla. |The food is lovely and a good price for Union Island |The staff in the restaurant and the hotel were very pleasant kind and helpful. |The restaurant and hotel are separate ownership. |Would stay again

We used this as a base as we were going on Captain Yannis tour. Basic is an understatement. Bring your own towels and toiletries for this one. Mattress was hard . We booked 3 villas, one had no toilet roll- we asked and we did get. obviously something you would expect to be in there already! However, the people are nice . It was definitely interesting to see the tortoises roaming freely outside. Listen out for Maya the cat who mews and scratches the door, sha can get quite loud!|Location wise its 5 minutes away from local restaurants and supermarkets. |Overall, in spite of everything I would actually stay here again, I would just bring more stuff with me. |Location is everything so if you just want a base like we did I definitely think this place should be considered.

I had an upstairs room with balcony, which was light, airy and spacious. The air of faded glory is offset by a certain character and charm, along with a prime location, a decent restaurant, and really helpful staff. I especially liked the outside bar on the waterfront, and relaxing on the front & rear balconies. Many thanks to Corinne, Shinelle, Ali & team for all your kind help :)

The hotel was a good choice .. very clean , very big room , Corinne from reservation was super nice and helpful , just know there is no beach nearby but the restaurant even though it has a nice location and the food is good , the staff is horrible !!! They don t care at all , super lazy , arrogant , it got to the point that I rather went next door to baracuda , over there you get friendly service . I met other people having the same experience .it s a shame such a behavior . Even after tipping .. it did not help . Never again

The hotel is very nice, with bar and restaurant. We didn’t stay. But be VERY cautious with the shop in this hotel as they tried to rip us off and the girl in charge had a very suspicious behaviour. Better stay away from this shop as even items as soooo overpriced.

The bouganville has a very convenient location for kitesurfing. The rooms are big and the place has a very good restaurant underneath. Nevertheless, the big problem is internet. It was so slow that not even a mailbox could load. We stayed in other hotels on the island so we know that this is not the case everywhere. Also, the furniture is beautiful but unfortunately the bathroom need some maintainence. The lack of lights was also strange for us. The bedrooms are equipped only with bed lamps. Finally, it is such a pity that beds don't have mosquito nets. We had to spray ourselves with OFF every day before going to bed. All in all, this place is an excellent choice if you want to kitesurf all day long but not that great if you have other things on your itinerary as well. The hotel manager Corinne is also very nice , helpful and friendly.
