We’ve just returned from Polis and the bougainvillea hotel apartments, Stavros and his team made us feel so welcome. |On arrival day we were presented with juice and a home cooked cake, everyone was so friendly. |Now, I need to validate my four stars or rather the lack of a fifth, this was purely down to the apartment was in need of an update. There was everything you’d need for your stay and the space was huge as the apartments on two floors. |As it was November the weather was better than expected, we had a storm but it cleared up by noon with nice sunny weather for the evening.|Polis is a small town, with say a dozen restaurants and a handful of bars open at this time of year and 3k (50mins) walk away along the coastal path is the harbour town of latchi where we spent our days. It’s about the same size but very pretty. |I should say the walk to latchi was through the old camp site which is now derelict which was a shame but it’s only a small part of the walk, and the rest of the area is lovely. I believe work is soon to commence on the camp site. |We picked Polis because we hoped it would be less commercial than paphos and we got what we wanted. It was such a relaxing 7 days, the food was great everywhere we went and very reasonable. | We very much enjoyed our time.

If you want peace and quiet then this is your place!|Great location to the Centre, close to the beach, bus station in polis centre that can take you to most places and walkable to Latchi, lovely during the day!|A few cats on the resort and a loveable ginger one. Please feed them :)|We had a refurbed studio and loads of space and lovely balcony.|Polis it self gives you more than you need with plenty of eateries and bars. Lovely little town!

We had a lovely stay here and Stavros and team were so welcoming and friendly. Stavros made a real effort to chat to everyone, he even got a smile out of our grumpy 14 year old. Tuie behind the bar was also lovely. The food is excellent too. The apartments are basic but had all we needed. The only downside was that the aircon is only on the first floor of the apartments so anyone sleeping downstairs is going to be very hot in the peak of summer. Location wise it's perfect, 5 minutes walk through the old campsite to a lovely quiet beach which you pretty much have to yourself with a very warm sea. (I recommend beach shoes as it's part rocky but still gorgeous). 5 minutes walk into the square which has plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a lovely restaurant just to the left of the apartments too. We got a 15 minute taxi ride to Latchi for a boat trip. It's probably walkable but not in the heat at this time of year. We found Polis more charming and authentic than Latchi, where all restaurants looks like same. Overall we had a lovely time and I recommend this great place!

My daughter and I have just had a wonderful 2 week holiday here. This was our first visit to Cyprus. We were welcomed after our long flight and transfer by Stavros with a cold drink and a cake. The apartments are spacious and very clean. We had everything we needed. The apartments are well situated in a quiet semi rural lane. We loved Polis. It has a lovely, chilled atmosphere about it. There are loads of restaurants, we didn't have time to try them all. We counted 6 ice cream parlours, very well used in the summer evenings. There is also an excellent bakery in the newer part of town. There are some gorgeous old honey coloured stone buildings in the town centre too and beautiful churches. We also visited the local archaeological museum which even my daughter found interesting. It is only 2 rooms and doesn't take long.|Most days we went to the beach. To Polis Municipal beach, it is about a 30 minute walk. You walk through the old campsite and this takes you to a beach with no amenities. Turn left and there is a path that takes you up to the main beach and right up to Latchi. The sunbeds are thickly padded and well spaced out and 2 beds and an umbrella cost 7 Euros 50. There is a restaurant on the beach and a regularly cleaned modern toilet block. I recommend water shoes as the shoreline is pebbly and it can be a challenge getting in and out the sea. There is a bus station in Polis with an easy to follow timetable for all the buses in the Paphos region. We used the buses quite a lot. They are very reliable. When visiting the beach, we took the bus and walked back. Each bus journey is a standard fare of 2 Euros. We also used the buses to visit Aphrodite's bath, Paphos Zoo, the Tombs of the Kings and Kings St Shopping Mall ( not all on the same day). A day ticket to use unlimited buses is 6 Euros 50. We also went on a very scenic sunset boat trip to the Blue Lagoon, water surprisingly cold but crystal clear.|We never go back to the same place twice, but we enjoyed this holiday so much, we have already booked to come back next year.

I stayed at the Bougainvillea Hotel in June 24 in a one bedroom apartment with my partner. I have been to Paphos many times but this was my first visit to Polis and first time in Cyprus for my partner. Being a hotel manager myself in the UK, I can be quite critical but I can honestly say this was one of the best holidays I have ever had. The team are so friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was clean and in a great location. Food was lovely, pool area clean and comfortable. Polis is a lovely village with some great restaurants. We walked through to Latchi several times which was good but I am pleased we stayed in Polis. We loved the Bougainvillea so much we booked to return in June 25. We are counting the days until we are back.

What a little gem of a place. Staff are so friendly and can't do enough to help you. Pool and bar area are spotlessly clean and plenty of sunbeds. Apartments are basic, but clean and well equipped, although they could perhaps do with a refresh. Air-conditioning is available but only works on the upper floor, so if you have people using the sofa beds on the ground floor, they might get very warm at the height of summer. About a 2/3 minute walk from the square with a few shops and restaurants. All in all a very peaceful, relaxing place.

Perfect unspoilt location, friendly helpful staff. The apartment is cleaned regularly. A/c in bedroom only at an additional charge. Cooking facilities basic. Beautiful sandy beach, 10 min walk away, we hired a car, they drive on the left with right hand drive cars so very easy, £25 euros a day! Plugs are the same as the UK. Lots of restaurants just a short walk away. Nice pool and the surrounding area, lots of chairs and beds. Food and drink available onsite. Thank you we will be back again 🙂

This is a little gem, made so by Stavros, in his later years but nothing is to much for him and his team. He speaks great English and the rest of the team are getting better. but still good enough to get by.||The apartments are fine, nice and clean, the housekeeping girls come in everyday to clean and check for any problems. The Bedroom is the only room with Aircon and this is available at an extra cost 10€ per day, but worth every Cent.||Nice and quiet location, a 5min walk from the centre of Polis, where plenty of restaurants can be found. The beach is around a 15 min walk, going through the now aboundond campsite. Nearby Latchi has plenty of restaurants, a small harbour and boat trips a plenty for those that fancy it or other seafaring adventures.||We hired a car via Stavros and at 36€ a day is an absolute bargain, what is a nice touch you can park under the hotel, so no blazing hot car, the roads are good, they drive on the left, so making it easier for us Brits even the traffic lights are the as in the UK. Then just go and explore, you will end up finding places that the Tourist buses will never see. (Wineries', off the beaten track restaurants, monuments, historic sites and so on). You might get lucky and come across the Mouflon, we did.||Our first time to Cyprus, it exceeded all off our expectations and the hotel is a great base to explore from.||We cant wait to go back.
