Boughshed Restaurant

Food was good. I’m not sure what the bad reviews are. The only thing that is missing is the chilli that they have at the Monkey Bar, it’s that good! The staff are really friendly too and service was good too. The kids even ate their food before their chips for a change off the kids menu!

Food - chips were good. Fish and chips - fish was good but a bit too small, had 4 sticks of it. Chocolate mud cake was good, not too sweet but a little tad dry. Flat white with oat milk was average. We upsized to a mug for $1 more. Nice of the service staff to give the suggestion. We went at non peak hours so service was OK. Floor was a little dirty. Ambience was nicely decorated.

We had an epic family afternoon soaking up the magic of Monkey Mia crystal-clear waters, dolphins cruising by, my son was loving every minute. We wrapped up the day with a beautiful dinner at the Boughshed Restaurant. The crocodile bites and fresh oysters were a hit, and the prawn linguine was packed with flavour. Paired it all with a crisp glass of wine while watching the sunset was unforgettable.

The food served was a mixture of good and very poor. My pork belly was very dry and overcooked, another person at the table had fish that was also very overcooked. I was hungry after a long day traveling and ate it, perhaps I should have immediately sent it back. It seemed to be difficult to get an acknowledgement that the dishes were substandard. We booked The Boughshed months in advance after hearing great things. The food was decent but didn’t quite live up to the hype or the price tag. However the service was very good and staff were accommodating. That said, we personally preferred the more relaxed vibe of the Monkey Bar inside the park. The setting felt better, and the food coming out there looked more tempting.

10 out of 10 food and coffee was phenomenal. Service was fantastic with staff being helpful, attentive and smiley. I find often when travelling through small towns they at times have little pride in the quality of their food and service because people will pay an extortionate price because there is nothing else. But not this place. Clearly there is pride in their food and service and I will definitely recommend to others and be back myself for another cuppa and bite! There aren’t many options here, but it’s a decent restaurant. The food is good, though nothing too special. In front, there’s a dolphin watching spot, which adds a nice touch to the experience.

Service was great, very friendly staff. Awesome view and restaurant atmosphere. However, food was a disappointment. We ordered pork belly and scallops as an entree, and when we receive the food the pork belly was hard and dry. The scallops were flavourless and undercooked. The main dish also took more than 30mins to arrive when we were one of the first customers to order when they started taking orders for dinner time.
