Ina Garten's Favorite Places to Eat and Shop in Paris

"Recommended as the place to buy a real French baguette — a boulangerie where bakers work through the night to produce perfectly crusty loaves. There are seven convenient locations; Ina advises: make sure you grab a second loaf, so you can snack on one while you tour Paris, just like she does." - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner, Merlyn Miller

Loved the pastries, got the basic french staples. Wont go wrong. Affordable too. We were a couple, ordering our own food but got overcharged table fee because we entered with our friends. Our friends ordered their own food by the way. What a waste of an otherwise excellent taste, affordability, atmosphere and location.

Neighborhood Boulalnger in the Grenelle area right next to the Dupleix station. You can get your basic demi baguette here or your most elaborate baked good and even a salmon salad. Outside seating is available and staff are very welcoming. Got the pan au Chocolat and a doppio cuppaccino which all came up to less than 7 euros. Excellent quality to price ratio! Highly recommended!

We ordered two chocolat chaud - take away and asked to pay 10 euro. Then we saw the sign with the prices where was indicated that chocolat chaud cost 4 euro. We asked another employee why we were charged with 10 euro instead of 8 euro and she told us that this price is for take away but we do order a take away ! Then she said she will need to check with the manager (the one who charged us 10 euro) and after she spoke to her she told us that prices changed and now it is 5 euro despite the sign (see in the picture) which clearly states that the price is 4 euro. If you are a tourist keep this in mind when visiting this place !!!

This bakery is very comfortable for breakfast. It is open from 7am and it seems that its croissant is not freezed one. It has many selections of pains and savory bread and cakes. They speak English. The only thing which is shame is this bakery doesn’t have a toilet. Other than this I love this bakery.

Great boulangerie for vegans! This is the one bakery in Paris where I found a vegan sandwich on the window. It was an avocado, tomato, cucumber and rocket sandwich seasoned with olive oil and lemon juice. And if you don't find the sandwich ask the friendly staff and they will provide it for you. Coffee is also great!

Disappointing!!! I’ve been few times to buy all sort of things in Secco and it was pretty alright. Until I got there Thursday 24th July and was served by FREDERIC. I don’t even understand how is it possible to have such a disrespectful employee like him. To start he didn’t greet me. From the beginning he looked like he was not really keen to serve me. Anyway I started listing what I wanted. Almost every time I had to repeat myself 2 to 3 times because he was just not listening. I had a lot of things to buy and he seemed irritated with that!! Once I had finished my order, he even made the comment: “well it better be over” talking about the order. So I told him don’t you like when people buy a lot of things from you since it’s good for the business? To which he replied “well it’s creating a massive queue in the shop” UNBELIEVABLE!!! RESULT: NEVER GO TO SECCO IF YOU WANNA BUY MORE THAN ONE OR TWO ITEMS!! Cherry on top of the cake: he counted double to triple times what I had actually ordered which made me pay an even more excessive price. I had to go back 2 times to get reimbursed. Also after I left obviously when I checked I had missing order (I paid for something I never got). The 3rd time I went again to correct his mistakes, he swore at me. If you have a good reputation, good food quality, even though overpriced HAVE THE RIGHT EMPLOYEES to match your standards. FREDERIC IS RUDE AND ARROGANT PLUS HE DOESN’T DO HIS JOB PROPERLY. BIG NO FOR THIS BOULANGERIE. NEVER AGAIN.

Tres bien. It must be their competitors rating this place because the food was great, the cappuccino was great and the service was great.
