The Best Places to Stay Near Rocky Mountain National Park, From Swanky Hotels to Woodsy Cabins

"The adjacent Boulder Zen Center in the heart of town gives the light-filled contemporary rooms of Boulder Guest House a calming energy that permeates each visitor’s experience, whether or not they choose to join the included meditation sessions. This Victorian house, which was once a cutesy bed and breakfast, is now a Zen-inspired boutique hotel, with custom-designed king bed frames, Verlo V9 mattresses, original artwork, and premium Shikai bath products to ensure a comfortable stay." - Emily Pennington

We had a peaceful stay. Our room was comfortable and lovely, as was the front garden, but this establishment is not operating as a hotel and definitely not a “boutique hotel”. It is more like a motel. There are no indoor public areas open to guests, such as a lounge / seating area, nor a place to eat breakfast. Breakfast is help-yourself granola and yogurt available in a hallway. The establishment description above is not accurate as our room did not have a seating area, just one desk chair. So if you didn’t want to eat your granola outside, you’d have to eat it sitting on the floor of your room. Zero personal contact with any staff during our stay, other than a text, likely a bot, as no response was received to my reply.

My family's stay so wonderful! They came for my wedding in Boulder. They were over the moon in love with this guest house. They could not stop talking about how beautiful the property was and how comfortable they felt staying there. The food provided was delicious and everyone was so kind to them. They found a 5 star stay here. It was tranquil, peaceful, and wonderful.

This B&B was amazing. The room was cozy and very calming. Breakfast was delicious- some of the best yogurt I've had and some incredible pour over coffee and tea. It is within walking distance to downtown Boulder and has off street parking. We accidentally locked ourselves out and Bryant was very responsive in helping us get back in. I highly recommend staying here!

We had a relaxing and peaceful stay for 5 days! The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast area was always stocked with fruit, milk, yogurt and granola. A lovely garden where one can enjoy some contemplative time or a book! Centrally located and ideal base to explore and enjoy the many sights and hikes in the area. We also joined the meditation a couple of times and so wish we had done that more! Bryant and everyone at the Zen Center were super helpful and welcoming! We will definitely be back!

What a wondeful place! Quiet, close to CU Boulder and downtown. Awesome beds! Clean, light filled and beautiful rooms. Everything is prepared with so much love and care. We had the most wonderful time!

I absolutely loved my stay at Boulder Guest House. It was peaceful with a lovely garden and beautiful zen style room. The material of the blankets and pillows were high quality, and the mattress was so comfy that I never wanted to leave! There is organic fruit available all day as well as yogurt and delicious homemade granola with multiple milk options. The building is also high tech—my room had a very fancy and quiet air conditioner that worked well despite hot weather outside, and so many streaming options on the Roku. The building also has solar panels on the roof, which I appreciated, and composted. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion are all provided, but it’s not like a normal hotel—these are all natural, and much higher quality. Shower pressure was great. There was also an amazing library of books from which guests were welcome to borrow and read while lounging in the garden or in our rooms. Most of all, the staff were lovely, and clearly work very hard to create a place where cozy meets sacred, and kindness is everywhere. Thank you Boulder Guest House!

The room was very comfortable. I loved the white noise machine. Location was great! Many museums and restaurants were walkable. However, the very friendly staff was not real helpful. I asked specifically before booking about getting restaurant recommendations, not getting much in that manner from them upon arrival. And I got locked out of the House. My code didn't work and I needed to leave early for the airport. So I got no breakfast that day!

Yelp
For such limited options near Pearl St and this part of the city, it's a great option. Attached to Boulder Zen House, the Boulder Guest House is quite zen, so if you are thinking about rowdiness, keep on moving. We stayed in room , with a bed and a pullout couch that was quite comfy. Well designed, a fireplace, great art and a small, but clean bathroom. They have homemade granola and yogurt in the fridge for your breakfast and plenty of tea and coffee packets in room. They have a little table outside to enjoy the eats. It has the Boulder smell (think patchuli and vegetarian food) and is just very much a Boulder B&B. It's definitely a great stay if you're looking for a quiet respite, with that "granola-esque vibe" while visiting Boulder.
