So glad we stayed at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch! The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by peaceful wilderness. The sweet woman who checked us in was kind and accommodating. The lodge is so cozy. It was mid November when we stayed and cold at night but when we got inside, the lodge was perfectly warm (and it’s a big lodge!). We had a room upstairs and there was a little common area to relax in with a couch and table or we could also enjoy the main room with multiple couches, chairs and a table to play games. They served coffee and a nice, light and healthy continental breakfast there in the morning. Room was on the smaller side, bed was on the softer side (not for everyone but I loved it) and sheets were the softest I’ve ever had besides the ones at home! Bathroom was very clean and the toiletries in the shower were quality! We reserved a table at the Sweetwater Kitchen (right there in the lodge) for that evening. Service was great, the local steaks were delicious and there was even a man singing and playing guitar beautifully for our enjoyment. I highly recommend this accommodation and restaurant to anyone traveling through Boulder. After a long drive and touring sights in the desert, this place is a true diamond in the rough!

Wasn’t sure what to expect driving down Hell’s Backbone Road. You lose cell service a bit before you get there, and by the time you hit the dirt driveway, you realize you are truly out in the middle of the Utah desert. But that is exactly why this place works. We stayed in Cabin 3, which I think they call one of the "Family Cabins." Having a proper living room and a full kitchen (stove, full-size fridge, the works) was a great. Since we didn't eat at the restaurant on-site, being able to actually cook our own meals comfortably rather than just relying on a microwave was huge. We spent most of our time out on the deck watching the light change on the red rocks. It feels nice and secluded, even though there are other cabins nearby. It’s definitely rugged and fits the landscape, but you still have a solid roof, a comfortable bed, and plenty of space to spread out. A few things to know before you go: • Stock up on groceries: Since Cabin 3 has that great kitchen, I’d recommend hitting a grocery store in a bigger town before you arrive. The local options are limited. • The disconnect is real: There is no cell service. The Wi-Fi in the cabin worked fine for checking emails, but I’d recommend downloading your maps and music before you leave the main highway. • Look up: The stargazing here is unbeatable. Because it’s so isolated, there’s zero light pollution. We saw the Milky Way clearer than I have in years right from our deck. The staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing, which fits the laid-back energy of the whole ranch. If you want to be comfortable while feeling like you’re actually living in the landscape rather than just looking at it, I can’t recommend it enough. We left feeling genuinely recharged.

We spent three wonderful autumn nights at the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch. With its rustic elegance we felt like we were in the Ponderosa from Bonanza. Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional which helped make our stay a memorable one. In the Great Room on the second floor of the lodge, we met friendly guests from all parts of the country and the world. Within a short drive were some of the most picturesque Utah desert wilderness hikes imaginable. Add to that the gourmet restaurant on the second floor, it would be difficult to imagine a more delightful experience.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying in Yurt #1 over the weekend. The yurt itself was so cute and very well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. We really loved relaxing on the patio. The grounds are also spacious and gorgeous, so peaceful and grounding. The lodge common area was very cozy and my daughter loved the board games available to play. Would definitely recommend if staying in the area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, super remote. We couldn’t hear anything, but the sounds of cows, moving in the distance, which was exactly what we needed for a small family weekend get away. Great service and also great food at the Sweetwater Ranch so cool will be able to eat beef. They literally grew up on the property that we were staying on. Would give six stars if possible.

Note, my opinion is a little higher than my partner's. I very much enjoyed the mountain inn environment, with log walls, common areas, and friendly fellow travellers. Our room was small but comfortable, with adjacent bathroom. The gourmet teas and breakfast snacks were much appreciated. We both slept great in the quiet!

The ranch is a lovely secluded place. The room was very comfortable and the food in the restaurant delicious but when I wanted to take a shower in the morning there was no water at all then it came for just a few minutes so I had to take an express shower. I couldn’t brush my teeth either, no water from the faucets. Also even though there was a coffee pot , it was not set up, no coffee or filters in sight and I waited until 7 am. Since the place is so far away from everything, you should consider serving a little more substantial breakfast.

Nice quiet place we stayed in the yurt the bed was very comfortable it was a fun experience. Everyone was very nice and the property was beautiful. The yurts have private bathrooms that are close walking distance away. They have a hiking trail and a bunch of cool xylophones in the courtyard area something you don’t see often and fun for the kids.
