I love this place! I've been here twice now, both, for a friend's birthday. They wanted to do something fun, different, and active vs the usual go out and get bat shit crazy, LOL! So it was a nice change of scenery & you get to make gains from it! Win-Win!
Off the bat, the staff is awesome, very informative and super friendly. If are not a member or a first-time goer, I would recommend signing the waiver online, which can save you an extra 5-10 minutes. If I remember correctly, for first-timers you do not have to pay a fee for the rental shoes, it's like $4. Other than that it's a flat fee for the entire day and you can stay as long as you want.
Upon entering, it looks like an adult's playground, you can (safely) jump from rock to rock corresponding to the colors. Yellow is the easiest obstacle and White is the hardest obstacle, I believe. There are 100s of different obstacles on each floor level. They also have a gym and bar area downstairs for post-workout gains, haha. Beware, there are no safety suspenders so if you fall from the top, you will be free falling. I know it may sound scary but the ground is heavily padded and you won't feel a thing except for your nerves as you hit the ground. I have always been a spider monkey so I loved jumping around and even when my body gave out on me after an excruciating 4-hour climbing workout, I knew it was time to go. Time goes by very quickly when you're having fun so you don't even realize the kind of strain that your body is going through during your climbs.
I am super active and lead a healthy lifestyle but I guarantee you will feel the soreness & tightness in your forearms and fingers on that very same day, if not the next day. This place is a must-try for all adrenaline junkies and spider monkeys! If you're afraid of heights, fight your fears because I know you can do it!!
