Bound - Gastro Obscura

"In a city full of flashy, mixologist-led bars, Bound, located in a relatively nondescript block among neighborhood eateries and knick-knack shops of Kowloon, is a refreshing antidote. Not to say that this low-fi hangout doesn’t make a proper drink—it just does so without taking itself too seriously. It’s one of the few places you’ll find cocktails made with Chinese liquors, from the traditional rice-based Yuk Bing Siu, to Magnolia, a recent local invention featuring Chinese medicinal herbs. If you’re not in the mood for cocktails, there’s an excellent rotation of craft beers, both imported and local, on tap, bottled, or canned, as well as mocktails, and a neat menu of Asian-inspired dishes, from Okinawan taco rice to Sichuan fried chicken. Stop by any time of day (they also do great coffees)—it’s the kind of place where anything goes and you certainly wouldn’t be judged for day-drinking. Know Before You Go The bar also regularly hosts indie musicians. Check their Instagram for upcoming shows." - janiceleunghayes

Great craft beer and cocktail bar that also services food and coffee as well. Locally run and feels really friendly and local.

Became an instant HK home base! Came across this gem on Instagram and was happy to discover it’s just a short walking distance from our hotel. Spent my first night in HK on a Friday here and the vibe was so vibrant—cozy, packed with interesting people, great music, and foreigner friendly. There was a pop-up event happening featuring a Japanese artist and a guest chef from Kyushu, with really oishii dishes (Kagoshima grilled chicken and Keema Curry Rice) and drinks. Enjoyed the featured Vice Sour, along with the plum highball, and all the super cute made in HK craft beers and ciders. Shoutout to Nathan who was so nice accommodating!

It’s a unique place to come in the heart of Prince Edward. Nice atmosphere and they’ve kitted the place out really well. I’d happily spend a lot of time here. Staff are great and welcoming too, really do have a passion for making sure you have a good experience. The coffee wasn’t bad either. The 7.8 flat white was perfectly good, a little too heavy on the milk side and the beans were a little unrefined. Some flavour did come through but it wasn’t anything to come back for.

A very chill place that is visited by locals, serve a selection of local craft on tap and more in the fridge - on the menu are also interesting and reasonably priced cocktails, coffees and other non-alcoholic drinks

Vibrant retro cocktail bar that brightens up the dim street come nightfall. Decent cocktails with a trendy international crowd. Kowloon could do with more spots like this.

Very cool little spot in Prince Edward, the staff are totally awesome - they got to know us by name and looked after our party really well all evening. They were friendly and jovial without being intrusive; perfect service. The food was good and the drinks were delightful with a few unique creations to try from. The bar has a rustic, shoreditch esque feel, not 100% to my taste, but each to their own! Our evening was worth the relatively high expense on account of the wonderful service and atmosphere.

Cosy atmosphere with some cocktail choices. Definitely a nice place to stop by if you just want to slow down your pace in this rushy Hong Kong! Price: Around 110hkd per cocktail
