The owners have thought of everything and you will feel like you are treated to a personalized stay! The hot tubs and fire pit are a big plus! But the new restaurant and bar are excellent- I didn't want to leave!

We had an amazing one night getaway here! The bourbon barrel was extremely comfortable. The owners and staff were amazing! Great drinks and great food as well! It was interesting to see where everyone was from and that made it an even more memorable experience. They go above and beyond here and we will definitely go back! Great job Bourbon Barrel Retreats!

What a terrific time we had at the Bourbon Barrel Retreat! Living in a barrel for 4 nights was so much fun. The barrel is warm and cozy. The bed amazingly comfortable. The shower provided all the hot water we needed with great water pressure. We celebrated my husband’s 63rd birthday and added on the Birthday Special - totally worth it! Christina treats you like family and goes out of her way to make sure you have what you need - and in our case even what we wanted! If you’re looking for a fun place to stay while touring the area - this is the place!

We did a bourbon trail trip with another couple. They had barrel #1 and we had #2. The stay was excellent. We really enjoyed it. They have a central area with multiple fire pits and grills. Additionally, our barrel had a hot tub, grill and an outdoor seating area. We were so excited about the fire pits but it unfortunately rained every night. Each barrel is nice but I felt that #1 and #2 had the most privacy. Be forewarned that there is very little nearby. Once you come back to the barrel, you’re probably staying there for the night. We usually had a late lunch and ended up playing cards with charcuterie which was enough for us. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. Highly recommend to try it at least once! (Looks like they are building a restaurant and community center on the property. Probably open in late 2025/early 2026.

My husband and I stayed in unit 1 for a couple of days. We come to Kentucky several times a year and wanted to stay somewhere we hadn't before. You could tell the unit has had too much moisture in it for a while because the door hinges, door stop and shower drain had alot of rust of them. It felt very damp the entire time. We did not have cell phone service, and they currently don't offer wifi. That is not what we expected or wanted, but if you're looking to completely disconnect this would be the place. The hot tub was nice and its a very quiet area. We expected a cleaner room for what they charge for a cleaning fee. There were what looked like dirty hand prints on the wall in the bathroom, the artificial plants were coated in dust and the fridge was dirty. Overall we had hoped for a better experience.

We had the most amazing two-night stay! We booked the property along with another couple, and it was absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway. We loved how private and peaceful everything felt — it truly felt like our own little retreat. The hot tub was the highlight of the trip… the perfect spot to unwind at the end of each day. The barrel was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for an effortless stay. It was the perfect theme for our bourbon trail tours. We can’t wait to come back for another weekend escape!

This is the most unique place I've ever stayed. The cabin itself is comfortable but the atmosphere is 10/10. The rolling hills are beautiful, there are no noticeable sounds and the three deer next to me while reading in the hot tub were paid actors. I will definitely be returning.

This was the coolest spot to stay for our Bourbon Trail weekend! The space is so open and peaceful. Each Barrel has their own hot tub and grill and there is a big fire pit area with all the necessary equipment provided! The inside of the Barrels are freshly updated and so cozy for a romantic weekend for 2 with a big window view from a plush king sized bed. Absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait for the next!
