Bourbon Heat

We were simply walking past Bourbon Heat when the sound of a live band caught my attention and listen, if there’s live music anywhere within earshot, I’m going to investigate. The energy spilling out of the place was too good to resist, so we decided to stop in for lunch, and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere inside was upbeat without being overwhelming, and the band added such a fun, authentic New Orleans vibe. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel like you’re part of the moment, even if you only planned to stay for a quick bite. My husband ordered the shrimp po’ boy, and he practically inhaled it that’s how you know it was good. I ordered the boudin egg rolls, and they were flavorful, crispy, and surprisingly filling. And the drinks? Buy one, get one free. Yes ma’am, we were absolutely winning. You can’t beat that kind of deal, especially in the French Quarter. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had great timing, checking on us but never hovering. Another major plus: the bathroom was very clean which is not something you can always say on Bourbon Street! Overall, Bourbon Heat gave us good food, great music, great drinks, and a genuinely fun experience. Perfect spot to stop in whether you’re exploring, people-watching, or just chasing some live music like I was. We’ll definitely be back!

This was totally the place to be for New Year's Eve in New Orleans. For $200 we had open bar all night long dancing on three floors fun atmosphere great people great music throwing beadsoff the private balcony fireworks you name it it was there definitely go there for New Year's Eve any year!!

First of all, Ms. Cynthia is a Gem! Incredible service, friendliness, hustle, and has her very own must-try recipe on the menu: sweet potato biscuits! The rest of the foods were fantastic from a simple fresh salad to crispy seasoned chicken, catfish, and shrimp po’boy - love this treasure of a restaurant!

Ok, so we got sacked in here by the street guy and it was a good place to sit and relax but the food was just OK. The shrimp was not fresh, disappointing for NOLA. The burger was a frozen patty, it was not horrible, but frozen patty for sure. I wouldn't say do not eat here but it is not a place I recommend for fresh ingredients.

First time eating here. Amazing food. I ordered the Catfish Lafayette. Totally worth it!! Our waitress Jess was great. Upbeat, fun and just made the evening worth it.

Walking down bourbon street and Santa convinced us to stop in! We sat outside but could still hear the music. The food was AMAZING. Service was also great!

Stopped into Bourbon Heat last night after hearing an incredible group called Kim In The Wind—she was performing 90s R&B and absolutely killing it. The vibe alone drew me in, but once I looked at the menu, I decided to try the food as well. I ordered the Trifecta (catfish, red beans & rice, and gumbo). While the presentation wasn’t anything special, the flavor easily made up for it. The catfish was fresh, light, and perfectly crispy—exactly how I like it. The red beans and rice and the gumbo were some of the most flavorful I’ve had in a long time. Great music, great energy, and surprisingly great food right in the heart of Bourbon Street. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a memorable night out.

In the heart of the Bourbon Street buzz, you'll find this quaint oasis away from the busyness in this delightful alleyway restaurant. Gorgeous plants and bamboo lined the space, and there were plenty of fans to keep the air moving and pleasant. We had 4 boys with us, all under the age of 10, and the restaurant perfectly accommodated their traditional kid needs while absolutely meeting the creole food desires of my husband and I. The sausage served with the red beans and rice was absolutely divine, and my husband said his catfish Lafitte was prepared perfectly with a light crunch on the outside and flaky/buttery on the inside. If you're touring Bourbon Street with your kids, don't miss this perfect space tucked only slightly away from all the action.
