On the Grid : Bourke Street Bakery

"Drop in for a quick refuel in the form of daily pie, quiche and cake specials and whilst you're at it pick up a loaf of fresh baked sourdough to munch on later. This venue is part of a popular company who boast 10 stores across Sydney, a thriving catering arm and baking classes. They must be doing something right, right? Right. On top of all this, they run The Bread & Butter Project (a social enterprise bakery) and they have more than earned the right to be called a sustainable business." - The Laser Co

Our all time fav meat pie go-to. Reasonably priced, friendly service, decent size. Been visiting their other branches and they never disappoint us. I would avoid coffee there tho cause it’s more on the richly roasted side.

Good range of hot food and pastry options. We got a pork and fennel sausage roll, beef brisket pie and a blueberry and ricotta muffin. Super tasty! We arrived at 10am on a Saturday and the line did pick up pretty fast. Seating options both inside and outside.

Disappointed! This place used to be good but today I purchased a pork/fennel sausage roll which was raw and a lemon curd that tasted like chemicals, do these people not taste what they make before they serve it to people? I had to throw both items in the bin, waste of my time and waste of my money.

Still the best in the business! Heaps of variety in their pastries but I always end up coming back to the lamb and harissa sausage roll - it just works! Always cooked to perfection, the flavours are just wonderful. Reasonably priced too.

We have started to go here more frequently since I really enjoy their pork fennel sausage roll. Came by today and they had a new jalapeno cheese scroll. IT'S GREAT. Reminds me of a cheesy southwestern bread a friend used to make. It's has just enough heat to not over power and the different textures with the cheese and the bread make it just really enjoyable. For my own benefit so it sticks around, I encourage anyone reading this to get it so it shows demand 😅.

What a find!! We stopped in for a pie each on a cold day and absolutely loved our pies. We shared a pork & fennel sausage roll. Omg!! It was delicious! It was great there are tables outside to sit and eat. Perfect place to stop and recharge. We also buy our sourdough from the North Sydney store. Always great quality. You can’t go wrong the Bourke Street Bakery.

I recently visited Bourke Street Bakery in Marrickville and was absolutely delighted by my experience! Firstly, let's talk about the pastries - they are divine! Each bite is a burst of flavor and freshness. If you visit, you simply must try their special Ham and Cheese as well as Tomato and Cheese Crossties. You must try this! Moreover, I was genuinely impressed by the warm hospitality and excellent customer service provided by the staff. They were incredibly polite, kind, and attentive, making my visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that they truly care about their customers' satisfaction. Overall, Bourke Street Bakery is a gem of a bakery with scrumptious pastries and top-notch service. I highly recommend paying them a visit!

Came here and got a pie. Pie was great and tasty, and the service was fast and friendly. Water cups and seats outside were a little unclean due to weather.
