Northern Belgium Is Our New Favorite Food and Design Destination

"Sit on the terrace at Bourla facing the neoclassical theater of the same name. Their take on Belgium’s classic steak frites, done with thick Belgian rib eye and twice-cooked fries with mayo on the side, is the city’s best."

We went for a comedy show but we will surely be back as the interior and bar look so cozy and nice. The acoustics are alsoo very good.

I was here on a conference organised by Smashing Magazine. I did not have a chance to experience any show but from event perspective this is great place with a lot of comfortable space, beautiful interior and grate sound. I will be happy to attend next one in the future.

What a spectacular theater! I saw my first Dutch-language production here and was wowed by the building itself as much as the show.

Great variety of food with lovely live music, just a small remark is that the chairs were quite high compared to the table so we didn't sit very comfortably.

Great experience for breakfast/brunch. All you can eat in the best environment accompanied by dueto of classical intruments (cello/violin) . Book in advance and enjoy. Will go again for sure :)

There's no need to add anything to this fantastic place. Unfortunately won't be open for the next maybe 3 years due to rennovation

Anyone visiting Antwerp should try to attend the Bourla Breakfast Klub, top quality food and drinks in a magnificant domed room with live classical music. One of the more unique experiences to have. Only available in weekends and best to reserve a few weeks beforehand.

Yelp
It took me a bit to work out what this place is, but when I first laid eyes on it, and in particular the statues of all the famous playwrights, artitsts, and composers that rimmed the roof I was literally left speechless. In fact I spent a but of time simply walking around the building simply admiring its architecture. The Schouwberg is actually the Antwerp Opera House, and while it would have been good to go inside, and possibly even see a show, unfortunately time was at a premium. Still, even if you don't get to go to the Opera, or even have the opporunity to step inside, it is still worth checking out, even if it is simply o check out the building itself - it is absolutely magnificent.

Yelp
Most beautiful theatre in Belgium; ofcourse not much to do here if you don't understand Dutch.
