On the Grid : Bournemouth Parks - Lower Gardens

"We still can’t pick our favourite. The hot air balloon used to be the signature landmark here, but it’s not coming back. In summer, you’ll have to search for a free patch of lawn among the hundreds of visiting language students and local workers relaxing around the bandstand. In winter, the Ice Rink goes up during Christmas, adding a touch of winter wonderland." - Bright Blue Day

A town that has, sadly, lost its place as a gem for holidays. Run down hotels, overflowing bins, overrun with deliveroo Just Eats etc. delivery bikes. An edgy atmosphere down by the pier... not a policeman in sight. Avoid

Beautiful park. Has lower and high parks. This takes you yo Bournemouth Beach, the pier, cafes, and amusements. Has ice cream stores and coffee shops. Has crazy golf coarse. Loving stream along the park walk. Really nice family day out.

Always love walking around the gardens. If you fancy a longer walk you can walk through the gardens all the way to Westbourne centre.

Food: We ordered Cod and chips. The portions were large and everything tasted good. We were hungry after a day of travelling and walking around so as usual I forgot to take before photos. The beers were welcome as well. Service: The service was excellent with all of the staff friendly and pleasant to deal with. Our server explained the menu and the what ‘scraps’ were.

Visited here while staying in Bournemouth, Lots of greenery and open spaces with lots of benches and places to rest, and a peaceful relaxing area, a small river runs through it, there is a crazy golf style putting area here, and some kiosks one small one sells ice-cream and some snacks etc, there's another larger one that sells food and hot and cold drinks with seating and tables outside it, there's up steps or by the slope an aviary with lots of different birds in, when this new aviary was built years ago now, they inadvertently made it with double layers of mesh that caused people to not be able to see the birds very well if at all, this has now been changed and adults and children alike can enjoy seeing them again, Take a visit when you're in Bournemouth, it's definitely worth it,
