This review is for the restaurant. I have found a new favorite restaurant in the heart of Ascona! The chef was so nice, very accommodating with staff that truly cares. We had the filet, and it was worth every penny! She brings them in from the USA, then ages the meat. The veal was also amazing! The atmosphere is very romantic with the lanterns. You need to go late enough in the evening to enjoy them. Be sure to ask about the specials. They had roast chicken with rosemary that looked incredible when we were there! Be sure to make reservations. They do get busy.

the staff is exceptional - very warming and forthcoming. the hotel and its courtyard are so beautiful, the rooms were very clean and perfectly cooled down and the food was fantastic! can only recommend 💪🏽

Stayed here one night with my partner and it was a great experience. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Ascona. Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet, nice ambiance. I will be back the next time I am in Ascona. Really good price for what you get.

Cute hotel with a lovely breakfast in a great location. We had the street side room #3 with balcony slightly noisy but quiet later at night. Nice to sit and watch the street. Basic room but the bed was nice and comfortable. Must try the restaurant for dinner next trip.

We stayed here for one week. Hosts are very helpful, cheery but unobtrusive so not always asking 'what are you doing today' or 'where have you been today' and will engage with you if you invite them. Our room was at the top of some stone steps and overlooked the small courtyard where breakfast and dinner is served. If rain arrives, an electric canopy can be drawn across the whole courtyard so you can still dine and stay dry. There is a separate small bar area for when the weather is too chilly for outside eating. The courtyard dining room is charming; small and intimate with subtle music playing and a leafy canopy overhead of ivy or vines. We dined twice. Stephanie and Christof obviously value thier chef as he/she has been with them for 8 years. Food was excellent with a good range of meat and fish dishes and varied selection of side dishes. All excellent quality. A bit expensive I thought but may be due to poor exchange rate at the moment for the £ pound (186CHF for 2 antipasti, 2 main courses, 2 aperitif and a bottle of excellent Ticino wine). Our room was very large and airy with two extra large singles pushed togther and each own duvet; contented sleeps for a whole week. ||I agree with another reviewer that breakfast is a bit unadventurous - it was unvaried for the whole week , apart from a change in fruit options, but it was perfectly acceptable and sufficient in volume. Would recommend a stay in this delightful small hotel. Although on one of the main shopping streets in Ascona, it is very quiet and secluded once you are through the door. Lovely.

The owners taking very much care about everything and it is very cosy and nice. The location is perfect in the middle of the old town of Ascona around 150 Meters from the Lake promenade away. The rooms are big enough and even if there is some noise (One room is in opposite of a bar on the other side of the small walking street) you can still sleep good as the windows are from very good quality. For the very fair price you get a wonderful small place to stay for a couple of days.

Great location! Chris and Stephanie are lovely. Our room (#1) was unexpectedly large and quite comfortable. The breeze was enough to keep the room cool, along with the ceiling fan. Breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable. Cute neighborhood, easy walk from the bus stop. Definitely recommend!

Change of owner in January 2020. Lovely small hotel (10 rooms) with a nice courtyard off the street, but just a few meters from the promenade. Hosts are super nice and give you a personal experience. Only downside: Noise from other guests in the courtyard late at night. We’d definitely recommend.
