Great small hotel with awesome service. We stayed in one of the apartments as a family of 3 and it was almost perfect. The only thing missing was a shade for the door so that during the summer you could really darken the family room for whomever is on the pullout couch. The restaurant was also very good, with a variety of what I would consider unique dishes coming the US.

We've stayed three nights in one of the older rooms in the main building (not the new apartments). The room was mostly clean and spacious, but a bit outdated. Some of furniture seemed almost antique which I smelled, but didn't bother me too much after a couple of hours. The bathroom seemed almost brand new and very modern. Rooms were quiet and the 24/7 outside-hot tubes were great. Staff friendly and breakfast pretty good. The best thing was probably the location. Surrounded by beautiful landscape, this hotel also neighbors some kind of horse farm. Also nicely located between great sights like Seljalandsfoss and Skogafass. We've also tried the restaurant once. Taste was very good, but in my opinion too pricey and portions a bit too small. Service was a 10/10 though. I'd recommend staying here.

We stayed in the Grandma Jona cottage and it was perfect for our family of 4 with two teenagers. The views are amazing, the food was pricey but delicious, and the owner was super friendly. We went for a hike and discovered a beautiful canyon with waterfalls and nesting birds. It was incredible and we had it all to ourselves… absolutely magical!

Stayed in a deluxe family appartment - very clean and nice equipped. Lovely surroundings with view on mountains and Iceland horses. Nice hot tubs close to appartment. Breakfast tasted well and had typical Icelandic products. Friendly staff.

Very nice hotel. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was decent (good variety buffet) Dinner was slightly more limited but delicious nonetheless. The homemade bread was a treat! Fairly easy to get to the hotel, a few hundred metres off the main road. It is a bit far from amenities, being 40 mins from Vik, though. The rooms were good quality; no flaws but nothing spectacularly fancy either. They had beds and a nice bathroom. They were 100 yards from main reception which was not fun in the wind and rain, but not their fault… I would recommend it!

The deluxe rooms were fine, ours could use a bit of maintenance on the utilities. The restaurant is awesome, both the food and staff. We just had some soups and desserts but nevertheless were waited on a pretty high standard. The crème brûlée now lives in my girlfriend's world wide top #5, which says a lot. Probably worth the stop on it's own. The breakfast was sufficient. The morning staff was invisible, which is exactly how I like my mornings. Unfortunately it seemed to have an impact on the refill of cold cuts because they actually were "almost" not there. I had an epic battle with the coffee machine for minutes but eventually I was victorious. The location is right up on a mountain hill, perhaps a bit to far as midway point traveling between Reykjavik and Diamond Beach in winter. Especially if there is a little bit of wind.

I can't say enough about our delightful 3-night stay at this charming hotel. We rented one of the modern apartments which was perfect for our needs -- equipped with a small kitchen, lounge, cozy bedroom and spacious bathroom. The adjacent lodge housed breakfast (included) and a restaurant/bar, a wonderful way to start and end a day of adventures. What I loved most was the quiet setting, tucked away from the highway and next to a horse farm, amazing hikes at your doorstep, and centrally located for visiting waterfalls and ice caves, both an easy 1-hr drive or less. People were friendly and always eager to help. Overall, a memorable experience and highly recommended for those looking to enjoy the rural beauty of southern Iceland.
