Boutique Hotel Astoria

We visited the restaurant and let’s say we were far from impressed with the service. Trying to get someone attention to ask for a table was incredibly difficult (people walked past multiple times and just ignored us). We eventually got a table but it then took a while to be given menus and for our order to be taken. The food was good, however, it took ages for the plates to be cleared and to get the bill, despite the lunchtime rush having cleared and there was numerous empty tables. It was clear that people around us were having similar issues, but the staff were far from apologetic so it seems this is the standard service you receive when visiting this restaurant.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and everything was well presented. But what truly stood out was the amazing service by the lovely young lady working there. She was kind, professional, and always smiling. Her attention to detail and warm attitude made the whole visit even better. Thank you for the great service – I’ll definitely be coming back!

Don't be fooled by the small, strange reception. The service is good, the rooms are large and beautiful (nostalgia) and ofc the location is excellent. We had a balcony and spent a lot of time just looking at everything happening below and listening to street music. We really liked this place!

We visited last week for lunch with 3 friends on a day trip to Kotor. Location is good, table cloths on tables etc but food was 2 Star at best. The fish for two of our guests was very far from fresh (one fillet was definitely off - fortunately we did not eat it so no food poisoning), salad was tired, limp lettuce with only a few rather sad tomatoes etc. The seafood spaghetti was stodgy with a few stale mussels and odd bits of leftover fish. It was quite the worst (and amongst the most expensive) meals we had in Montenegro.

The hotel is located in the old city, and the location is really great. The bedroom was big and the interior is really interesting but it seems a bit dated. Overall, it was a nice room. The staff at the reception are really nice, helpful, and friendly. One negative thing about this hotel is the staff at the restaurant. They are really unfriendly, impolite, and they seem overwhelmed with the guests. Because of this, I have to take 1 star from the review. However, the food was fantastic and the price is also okay.

We sat down at the terrace of Boutique Hotel Astoria to wait out the rain. Several waiters walked by, we waved many times — completely ignored. After more than 15 minutes nobody brought a menu or took an order. When I finally asked “Do you have self service here?”, the waiter just frowned, muttered something in the local language, and walked away. For a tourist city this level of service is unacceptable. If the terrace is not meant for outside guests, at least put up a clear sign. Instead, the impression is that customers are simply unwelcome. 👎 Would not recommend.

Pleasant stay overall. Check was not great, just the lottery of which staff is on duty – many younger front desk staff were patient and very helpful.|The breakfast rules are bit confusing (choice of two drinks and one “sweet breakfast” and one other dish on the morning menu). So, you pick, say an omelet and you get a rather nicely made omelet with a breadbasket etc. If you do also order the sweet breakfast, you also get a large continental breakfast with jams and Balkan Nutella. It’s far too much food to order both, but not clear until the plates come out.|Our room was great, facing the city wall with a view of the water. The sliding glass door to the toilet did not stay shut, which nobody would welcome. Also, I am not an enormous person, but not small and the toilet itself was small and in a cramped setting, while the rest of the glass bathroom was generous in size. |Great location and good café bar with excellent outdoor seating. Would stay again and found pricing reasonable.

We came here for dessert and were very disappointed. We tried to order the cookie crunch but they were out so we got the caramel crunch instead and it had way too much caramel. I’ve never seen so much caramel sauce in my life. The ice cream was swimming in caramel. It was ridiculous. Did not taste good. Additionally, we were two people and we didn’t receive our desserts at the same time. And our waiter was extremely rude. And it took forever to get our bill. Will not come back.
