Staff are terrific (warm, welcoming, patient, cheery, knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating of particular breakfast wishes), charming & spotless place , and generally good location. Only drawback this time was the excessive heat—with no AC—combined with the street noise from the nearby cafes, which made the choice difficult between silence & heat with windows closed or noise & air. But we will definitely return in a different season.

Wonderful staff who are extremely helpful. Rooms are very small but clean and bathrooms are modern. Great location except a very busy and noisy street, but that's not a hotel creation.

A delightful small hotel situated just off Place des Voges. I really enjoyed my stay. The room was exactly what I wanted with a beautiful casement window. The service was both helpful and friendly, and the location perfect.

There was construction going on across the street so if you opened your windows it was very noisy. Also we had just returned from a 7 day cruise go getting the bags to the lift one flight up was difficult. The lift does not go to the ground floor. Once there the elevator was very small. Staff was very nice though.

I booked this hotel *specifically* because I was told it had air conditioning – I confirmed it twice: once by phone before booking, and again at check-in. But when I got to the room, there was NO air conditioning, only a weak ceiling fan – completely useless in the heat. Because of a medical condition, I physically cannot tolerate high temperatures. I had no choice but to leave immediately and book another hotel at the last minute. I sent two emails asking for a full refund and explaining the situation – including proof of the alternate booking. They never replied. Not once. Dishonest, unprofessional, and utterly indifferent to their guests. If you care about comfort, honesty, or even basic customer service – do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

We enjoyed the 17th century structure and cultural vibe. Its location is situated quietly, immersed in the history of Le Marais. We were received by competent and attentive staff communicating and ensuring our safety and comfort.

Updated for 2025: I've stayed in this hotel every time I come to Paris, it is my home away from home. The rooms are a nice mix of old-world charm (beamed ceilings/wood floors) and modern (bath with shower, adequate outlets.) I appreciate the closet for hanging clothes as well as the extra daybed which can be used both for laying things out and for relaxing after a day of sight-seeing. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The location is good-lots of places are very walkable, and there is a Metro stop very nearby. Being just off a main street, the locale is quiet. I loved having a ceiling fan since it was July and hot.

Flawless welcome, cozy room with overhead fan, and beautiful, delicious petite déjeuner. The Staff goes above and beyond in order to help Guests with bags, directions, taxis, recommendations and sticky stuff like, « I lost my key, »

Yelp
Why 3 instead of 2 stars? We booked this beautiful hotel based on the photos on the website, for our new years visit to Paris. We were disappointed to be led to the apartment across the street, with some excuse about problems updating the website- the family suite was in the apartment. The apartment itself was newly renovated, with a cupboard door coming off its hinges and though nicely appointed, the small shower clogged quickly when in use. The cleaning was lacking. It seemed a little unfinished. It was undecorated. The exposed structural beams were nice. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. The young woman at the desk was very helpful and said she would upgrade us the next night if the other booking canceled- no follow-up there unfortunately. It's three instead of two because the continental breakfast was in the hotel, and very good. The staff were also helpful and accommodating. Disappointed, but unwilling to find a different hotel with 2 children in tow; it was acceptable.

Yelp
I stayed here very recently and loved many things about this place; the vintage look, the people who worked there including the people who cleaned, and the location. I would highly recommend it

Yelp
When i was in Paris last month, my girlfriend and i decided to stay one night extra. Hotel where we were staying was fully booked for that extra day, so we moved to Hotel de la Place Des Vosges, 12 Rue Birague, 75004 Paris. It was nice small hotel, cute rooms with a lot of pillows, free WiFi with full signal in every room, and no problem with early check in. Guy at reception helped us with some translation and arranged free walking tour for us.
