This hotel is a gem. We wanted to be able to explore Amsterdam, but retreat to a quiet environment during the evening. Of course Amsterdam is known for its lively nightlife, but that wasn't what we were looking for. I was recommend Witte Dame by a Dutch friend. It certainly looked to fit the bill, semi rurally located, but 30 minutes to get into Amsterdam. When we arrived, we were welcomed by Else. She could not have been more friendly, and really helped the two kids in the group, who were outside the UK for the first time, to feel at home. All the staff were great, but Else was a particular highlight. The hotel itself is beautiful, and well appointed. The only minor issue in the review is that there were a couple of minor maintenance issues (dead bulbs etc, nothing serious). There is a railway nearby, it is occasionally audible, but it's not something that will disturb you. We ate in the restaurant our first night. They asked that we take the set menu, because we are a big group, which was a little odd (6 is not a big group). The food was phenomenal however, and the service excellence continued. I'd definitely stay here again, Abcoude is a lovely place, and the Witte Dame is a great hotel.

We stayed at Boutique Hotel De Witte Dame in Abcoude for two nights in April, and it was a real gem. Set in a beautifully restored old train station, the place has loads of character but still feels fresh and modern. Our room was spacious, with a super comfy bed, full size free standing bathtub and a fantastic double rain shower. ||The location is ideal—peaceful countryside vibes but just a short walk to the train station, making it easy to pop into Amsterdam in under 20 minutes. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home.||If you’re looking for a relaxed, stylish spot with easy access to the city, this place is photo perfect, the area has plenty of walks with a windmill nearby and the only noise we ever heard was from the odd goat in the fields next to the hotel.

I booked a stay at Boutique Hotel De Witte Dame for my mother-in-law, and she had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the very beginning, the owner and staff made us feel truly welcome—with service that was personal, attentive, and incredibly caring. ||She couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the hotel is—elegant, full of character, and with a clear attention to detail in every corner. The room was spacious and comfortable, with those little thoughtful touches that make a stay feel special. The location in Abcoude was perfect too: quiet and charming, yet conveniently connected.||A big thank you to the team for taking such great care of her. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and we’ll definitely be booking again in the future.

It was a perfect setting close to Abcoude, however in the country. We enjoyed learning about the history of the hotel. We loved the room, comfortable beds and great showers with excellent pressure. We also appreciated having some plates and cutlery, a kettle and coffee machine. The breakfast was tasty. There was a relaxed atmosphere around the hotel, while being efficient. The hotel has ample parking and the train station is a few minutes walk from the hotel. There are ample walks around the hotel.|We definitely will recommend this hotel, it was an excellent time for my husband and myself.

Very stylish and elegant place.... I liked it a lot... the room was large and felt very open and friendly... the bed was absolutely one of the best I have slept on.... very comfortable. there was a small kitchen area so I could make myself a tea or coffee - which I always like in any hotel.... Big plus is the excellent kitchen downstairs - I loved their food - I'd recommend to stop by just to grab something to eat there...delicious !! Making the place elegant I'd say the owners missed a bit on practicality.... In my room seemed like I have plenty of very stylish lamps... but at night I could barely read a book... all the lights were just not enough.

Rooms are really well designed and comfortable beds. The little town is really pretty with friendly locals. Easy access into Amsterdam via the train which is a 10 minute walk away from hotel

We came here for a friend's graduation party and can only speak about the food and service; the latter was good, everyone was friendly and accomodating. The food, however, was a bit of a disappointment. Everything looked very fancy; but tastewise, it was lacking. The vegetables dishes were the worst, the aubergine was very underseasoned and the texture was awful. White asparagus and peas were swimming in a pool of mayo, white fish was tasteless and a bit overcooked. Bisque was bland, heavy with cream and too many croutons. I feel bad to leave a bad review since everyone was so nice; but we feel the food and the sauces could improve in terms of flavor, not just the looks. Thank you for the great welcoming though.
