Charming little hotel a short walk from beach in Sant Andrea. We stayed in their least expensive room and it was good value - clean and comfortable with a view on the beautiful gardens. The staff was wonderfully helpful and welcoming and they served a great breakfast. ||Some other reviews noted that the beds are hard and they are, as are the pillows. Better pillows would be enough for me to give this 5 stars as an excellent little hotel for its price class.

Staying at hotel ilio was amazing! Maurizio and his staff were so accommodating and helpful to us. They gave us great suggestions for activities and places to eat. The town of S. Andrea was charming and you could walk to many restaurants and the gorgeous beach. The hotel was beautiful as well and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet every morning. We had apertivo on the terrace and enjoyed the gardens as well. Highly recommend!

Overall a great hotel. We liked the location and proximity to two great beaches and little town with a few restaurants and a general store. One of the great beaches is this fantastic large rock beach that we'd go to every night to watch the sunset. Breakfast was decent. Don't think they have a restaurant anymore but they recommended Nassa (nearby) and that was delicious. Rooms are fine. Lots of storage and air con worked great. We had a a room with a little outdoor patio that we used to dry our clothes and beach attire. We saw the housekeeping staff each day and kept our room and overall hotel clean. Staff was friendly. Everyday one of the older ladies (maybe an owner) knew I liked a certain packaged yogurt and would bring it to me. Lorena (front desk) was so sweet and helpful when we wanted to buy some wine from them and take it to the beach. They also rent beach towels if you need them. Front desk does close at a certain time but if you don't need a lot of service or 24/7 attention it's fine. I'd recommend this hotel if you want to be in this particular area of Elba. Great value.

Really nice hotel. We had room with balcony and sea view. Room was cleaned everyday and towels changed regularly. People were very nice, breakfasts were good. Now the minuses: lack of electric kettle and cups in the room. When we asked for hot water in the reception we had to pay for it 3 Euro. Hotel also offer to book sunbeds on the beach for 30 Euro. When I asked beach service what's the cost of booking sunbes they said 20 Euro - so the hotel keep 10 Euro for itself. I felt like a wet sock being squeezed out of money.

Hotel Ilio is a treasure. It's perched on the hillside overlooking the sea and a short walk to the beach. The owner Maurizio is incredibly welcoming and helpful. He secured excellent dinner reservations for us, and provided great advice on what to see. The hotel itself is comfortable, with plenty of outside spaces, and great breakfasts. Highly recommended.

We spent four nights on Elba and in this beautiful boutique hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. In fact. we thought that this location was more than prime - our seaside room was so spacious and beautifully decorated - and featured a super-quite A/C. Listening to the waves at night (sometimes also some drunk young people who chose to hang out a the beach at 4 AM ;-)) and waking up looking at the sea from our comfy bed. The breakfast offered everything we needed and the staff was very sympathetic and attentive. Sant' Andrea is a more remote area on Elba which we preferred of Portoferraio since it feels a little bit more exclusive to us. There are plenty of restaurant options in the vicinity (walking distance) and the sea/beach is beautiful (though very full - we were there in August just before ferragosta). A coastal walk brings you to beautiful rocky shores where you can jump into the sea. Just perfect. Thank you, Hotel Ilio Team, for making our stay a special one.

We stayed here for 4 nights in the room on the sea. Pros: great view; very nice room with AC and refrigerator; nice bathroom and nice balcony; we loved being right by the beach and restaurants. The only con was that right next to our room on the neighboring property, there is a pump that runs all day and it is loud and very annoying. You can hear this pump in the hotel room which is a bummer. I don’t think Hotel Ilio can do anything about it because it comes from next door. Because of this noise, we kept the windows closed in the back and spent most of the time on the front balcony where you cannot hear the noise. I would definitely stay here again. But you need to be comfortable with the early noise of people getting the beach ready and the late night noise of people having fun on the beach. We didn’t mind those fun sounds, just the constant water pump sound. The breakfast at the hotel was lovely and it was great that parking was provided. The hotel’s website accurately describes the sea room as being a bit loud.

We recently stayed a week at this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room had everything we needed and we had a lovely view of the sea from our balcony. We were made very welcome by all the staff and the breakfasts were very good. ||We certainly intend to stay at this hotel again and would recommend anyone visiting the beautiful island of Elba to stay here too.
