Had a really nice stay at this budget hotel. The location is the biggest selling point without a doubt. You are on the main pedestrian shopping area with designers and watches galore. The check in/out process was simple and efficient.
The rooms were old, and the bathrooms, while effective and clean, aren't "up to date" and lack some of the comforts that some may come to expect. Our shower door didn't stop a flood of water from getting on the floor every time we showered. It wasn't that it was broken - it just wasn't suitable.
The floors are a herring bone and while pretty, they were NOISY when walking on them. We were concerned that the people below would be cursing us, but considering we didn't hear a peep from above or below, we figured the old building was solid and the noise was skin deep.
While the accommodations were definitely dated, it was clean, and the value proposition here was fantastic. The rate we paid for the access and location can't be matched. If you take the opportunity to open the window (and you're view is the all), you may just hear a busker singing opera (as we did) at the end of the pedestrian area in front of the Louis Vuitton store.
With the windows closed, it wasn't loud at all, but there was a little din. If you're a light sleeper, ear-plugs would be recommended if you're overseeing the mall area (I'm not sure if all rooms do).
The breakfast was sufficient, but definitely on a budget. The dining area was small and tight, and the coffee was self-service.
