When we arrived at the station Davos Platz, a very likable young man was waiting to take us up to the hotel (a great service offered by the hotel for travelers by public transport, just write them an email or call). ||We felt home from the first minute. The receptionist who greeted us was friendly and helpful and explained the way to our room. Our room was a nicely furnished double bed room (the beds are really comfortable), with a great view. The bath was nice and clean, the colors of the tiles would not be called "in", but it nicely fits the atmosphere - we loved it. ||We booked half-board so in the evening we went downstairs to our first dinner. The dining room is decorated lovingly with old copper pots, cross-country skis and some things more. The waitress at that day was a lively and convival woman we took immediately to our hearts (actually every waiter we met during our stay was very friendly). ||Half-board in the Lengmatta means a lovely 4 course meal, each dish as delicious as the last. Reading the 4 courses of the menu was a highlight every evening, sometimes we were sceptical (since for example "hay soup" sounds quite strange) but we actually loved every dish and - if you go there - try the hay soup (it even convinced my usually soup disliking boyfriend). ||The breakfast buffet the next morning provided all we wished for. Homemade jam, Birchermuesli, tea, coffee etc.||||The whether didn't favor us too much, but we're quite reposeful people and anyway intended to work on a little project of ours, so we still never felt caged. And anyway the bus station to Davos is quite near if one wanted to go to town or a bit farther away by train (there is a card you get in the hotel providing free public transport in the near surrounding area). ||||All in all the stay was great and we didn't want to go home. A place to be remembered and quite sure to be revisited.
