My husband and I loved our stay at this hotel. The manager was very kind. She let us store our luggage and even called us a taxi so we did not have to walk in the rain to the train station. It is the perfect location! We could walk to all the city's most famous sites in a matter of minutes. The hotel is on Wittenberg's main street, but is still quiet. If you are there during Christmas time and is just a 2 minute walk to the Christmas Market. The rooms are simple but extremely clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was great too. Make sure to check out the resturant next door; it felt like a real German pub. Would highly recommend staying at the Ringhotel Schwarzer Baer and visiting the amazing city of Wittenberg. It was refreshing after the chaos of Berlin.

Small hotel with very few but sufficient staff. Great location.

It is a little historical town that is good for daily visits. There are some museums and beautiful buildings that you can check out and learn about historical figures & events. Even though I visited this place in August, it was really quiet and there weren’t a lot of tourists. Throughout the town you can find shops and cafes. Cafes were okay but most of the shops were closed during my visit on a Saturday. I was able to visit everywhere in 6 hours. You can arrive by car and also by train. I took the train from Berlin and there is train service every two hours both for arrival and departure.

Lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our booking included breakfast, which had plenty of choice and was a good quality. The hotel is ideally located on the main street in the town (perfect for sightseeing), and only a stone's throw from the Altstadt train station. Our room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

This hotel is right on the main street of the old town, near the market square, and the Schlosskirche and Lutherhaus are pretty easy walks in either direction. Our room was very pretty, with large windows and exposed brick walls, subtle and modern decor. We could even see a bit of the courtyard of the Cranach House next door from our window, as well as the tower of Schlosskirche. Bathroom was a little less clean than I would have liked upon arrival, and the shared corridors of the hotel are very dark and smell a bit musty. Aside from this, the place was exactly what we were looking for for our first visit to Wittenberg. More experienced travelers in the area may appreciate a quieter, more removed location, but we loved being able to walk to all the sites we wanted to see. Convenient parking behind the hotel was wonderful, and the staff provided us with an alternative address to reach the parking lot, as the front of the hotel is pedestrian-only. Staff were also very accommodating and allowed us to leave our vehicle in the hotel lot in the morning after we checked out while we went to the National Exhibition on the Reformation at the Lutherhaus. Breakfast was ok, a little challenging, as in a lot of places in Germany, for vegetarians. Location really can't be beat, though.

Very friendly staff. The room was great. It was very spacious. The bed was comfortable. I could see the market square from the window. The breakfast was good, good choice. Great tasting bread. It was an inexpensive stay. Forgot my phone charger and the they sent it free of charge. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The first thing we noticed was the road construction blocking the parking area. I took us a while but we found a place to park and then schleped our bags the 3 blocks to the hotel. No, they cannot control the road construction but if they are going to advertise free on site parking they should have it or notify us in advance. At least they should chat with the city so that we do not get ticketed.||Then the room they gave us was not cleaned so, they gave us a different one on the street. We had to open the windows because we could not turn the heat completely off. The revelers on the street below were quite noisy until late into the night. ||On the up side, the internet was good but you have to get an individual username and password for each device. We were not told that and had to make a 3rd trip down to the desk. The bed was typically European, split, individual duvets, but, not as hard as many. Although small, the room was adequate for the one night stay. The large picture of Martin Luther over the bed was an interesting decorating choice. Although fitting for Wittenberg, it was a little disquieting to have him watching.||The breakfast was adequate. The elevator was working. Everything seemed to be in good repair but out dated, from the 1980s not the 1680s.||This place is great if you just need a place to flop for the night, particularly if you want to walk to the sights of downtown Wittenberg, but expect small and a little uncomfortable and you will not be too disappointed.

It's easy to miss this hotel, especially as the Booking.com app seemed to be confused and sent us on a tour of Wittenburg. Look for the black bear.||||The receptionist was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Good safe garage for our bikes. Room was a decent size, and very clean, but I had requested a quiet room with good wifi reception and we were facing the main street where much drunken revelry went on until late, and the wifi was very patchy. ||||I had read that this hotel offers tea making facilities, but apparently that is only in certain, more expensive, rooms, not ours, which was a shame.||||You can walk to all the Luther related sites easily from here, and the most popular restaurant in town is right next door, so you could do a lot worse than stay here.
