The ultimate location with the Christmas Markets being at your doorstep. Hotel room was modern, clean and the bedding was extremely comfortable. The only areas which could do with some improvement are…quilts are tiny and don’t offer much coverage, no tea, coffee sachets or milk in the room, no mini fridge and the a/c faces bed which is not ideal. All in all a pleasant stay but it could have been much better with a little extra attention to details mentioned above.

We spent 6 nights in October 2024 in Boutiquehotel am Dom. You can get a really good feel for a hotel in that amount of time. And the feeling that we got was great!!! The staff, from the cleaning lady to the desk people to the owner, all went out of their way to make our stay really good. They did all the things a good hotel should do. They made restaurant reservations for us, gave us directions, made breakfast eggs the way we asked, etc etc. This is a small hotel (15 completely remodeled, attractive and modern rooms) located in the heart of the Old City. We have been to Salzburg many times and their location is where you want to be. Just walk out of the front door and into Mozartplatz and all the things you will want to see in central Salzburg-Altstadt are there. And if you want to take public transportation to any of the attractions around Salzburg, the bus stop at the Rathaus is a 3 minute walk. Getreidegasse (the main street in Altstadt) is a 3 minute walk as well. And it is a quiet hotel even though it is centrally located. The windows are not only modern and double-paned, but there are two of them, one in front of the other. So even though our room was above Goldgasse, we never heard much of anything. It is also one of the few hotels that has air conditioning for the summer months.|On a special note of thanks: I did not feel well on our last day there and the owner was kind enough to drive us to the hospital! Everything worked out OK, but I am grateful for his kind assistance and concern.|In summary, we think that this is a very fine hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at Boutiquehotel am Dom in Salzburg! The location is perfect, just a short walk from Salzburg Cathedral and the city's main attractions, shops, and cafes. We received an upgrade, and the room was spacious, stylish, and well-equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a great way to start the day. With its great location and fabulous accommodations, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Salzburg!

The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the center of Salzburg and within walking distance to restaurants and historic sites. The front desk staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I loved that the hotel could comfortably accommodate 3 adults in one room! I would stay here again!

The hotel is very nice, it's a bit small and compact but it's very comfortable. The wifi is not compatible with some time of phones and it's very slow. Quite great service from the staff. The environment is very clean and very nice. I like the decorations and the room.

Highly recommend this for Salzburg lodging. It’s a convenient location on a pedestrian-only street with attentive & helpful staff. Our room was spacious & clean. It faced the street but was still a quiet respite. All our activities & sightseeing were within easy walking distance.

Our 2 night stay in Salzburg was wonderful and our stay with Boutiquehotel 🏨 am Dom was VERY good. The city is really beautiful. The hotel was recently completely remodeled and our room 616 on the top floor although windowless it had 2 skylights and we didn’t miss the windows at all, the room is worth it. It’s a well sized room, beautifully decorated with a giant hot tub in the middle of it. When you booked directly with the hotel, breakfast is included as well worth it. Fresh made omelettes and plenty of breakfast food to choose from. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Hotel is in a PERFECT location. If we ever come back this is where we will stay for sure. Nice job guys ❤️

The location is superb right in the heart of the Old Town. If you are going during Christmas period, the main Christmas market will be just metres away. Right by the Cathedral, Dom Quartier, close by to the funicular bringing you up to Fortress Hohensalzburg, and if you continue walking uphill, you will reach the abbey featured in the Sound of Music :)Service is good, but amenities are close to none (just disposable slippers, rough towels, a small kettle, safe and a multi-purpose shower/shampoo gel). Also, they NEVER vacuum the room. They just make up your bed and replaced used towels. When I dropped an earring and looked below my bed. Omg, all the dust balls. And the gaps are very wide, they could have vacuumed, no excuse

Yelp
BEWARE: BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED The good: 1. Awesome, awesome location and pretty safe at night!! 2. Friendly and helpful staff. The manager appears to be "excited" at all times. He talks fast and doesn't pause to listen to people. This took some getting used to but he meant no harm nor is he rude - He just talks really really fast :) 3. Guests can purchase tickets for local tours (Sound of music, jazz night, Salzburg card, etc) at the front desk. Some thoughts below: * I am a huge Sound Of Music fan however, was slightly underwhelmed by the tour. The tour guide was great but the tour (managed by panorama tour) in itself was meh. I recommend renting a car instead and driving to the locations yourself. The mountains are beautiful and you will get to see more and really soak up the beauty of Salzburg. I felt rushed during the tour and was given only so much time to take pictures. Most of the tour information came from Wikipedia. Nothing special. * Salzburg card - Highly recommend buying this card. It gives you access to almost all tourist attractions. The bad: 1. We received a warm welcome by the front desk receptionist. As we were checking in, we were "reminded" that breakfast will be served between 7.30 & 10 - almost indicating that it was part of our reservation. Of course we assumed it was included. As with most travelers, we made this reservation eons ago and had no recollection of the amenities. 3 nights later, during check out, we were slammed with an additional 80 euros - for the breakfast. Imagine the surprise. Yes, it was our fault for not verifying but we felt cheated as guests are usually reminded of these things when they check in. The hotel could have done better. Btw, there is a really cute bakery right across from the cathedral, aprx a minute walk from Am Dom. It sells awesome pastries and has a wonderful array of beverages to choose from.

Yelp
This is the cutest hotel I have been to in a while in Europe. It was very clean and wonderfully decorated. The beds were cosy, and the hotel was very quiet. The only thing I could hear were the pigeons cooing out of my window. So peaceful! The hotel is conveniently located in the altstadt where the Dom is as well as everything else- all in walking distance. The bathroom, however, wasn't very private as it is only a sliding frosted glass door. Your significant other can pretty much hear all the noise you will be making in the WC, and see you moving around. Awkward if you care about that. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but I got the feeling that they were keeping track of residents for some reason as every time I walked in or out they asked me for my room number. The other weird instance was that my BF and I went back to the room to do a little you know what, and we had the "bitte nicht storen" sign on the door all day, and suddenly the housekeeping lady was knocking and asking if we were there and if we wanted service. I expect a lot more privacy than that. Maybe she was lonely, I don't know. I also wished they were a little more bicycle touring friendly, as I got the cold shoulder from the one receptionist as I walked in from my 70 mile ride. She also insisted that I keep my expensive bicycle in the basement, which I really did not feel comfortable with as my bike is my only means of transportation and it is my life, not to mention that all of my belongings were mounted to the frame, and to remove them all and put them back on again is a huge inconvenience. And just as a tip, you can get breakfast there for extra, but if you have jet-lag and need coffee at 7 AM, since there is no coffee in the room, you can head over to Cafe Fabrizi since they will be the only ones open besides McDonald's. I would stay here again if I weren't touring by bicycle. It's really a nice, cosy retreat from the hustle-bustle of the town. Also, make sure you don't need assistance in the middle of the night because there is no staff available after 22:00.

Yelp
Hotel Am Dom had a wonderful location and the staff was great. When we would eat breakfast in the morning, the manager would come to our table to ask if we wanted eggs or anything specific other than the selection of yogurt, fruit, meats, cheeses, breads etc. that was available. We had scrambled eggs and coffee both morning, and the second morning we came down, he remembered each of our orders without us telling him (down to the cream and sugar!) I definitely recommend this quaint little hotel in the middle of the old city of Salzburg.

Yelp
Hotel am Dom is a jewel in the old city of Salzburg. I've read about it being difficult to find, but arriving by train, we took a taxi, less than 11 Euro, who delivered us right to the narrow street it is on. Our train arrived late, so we had messaged ahead - they assured us it would be no problem, and they stayed late to check us in. The room was beautiful. We had strong wifi, but the electric connection had some issues every so often. We learned you just had to make sure your key card was inserted securely (sometimes more than once) to keep the lights on. Reception the next morning was friendly and warm. We ate breakfast at the hotel, and so glad we did. It was wonderful! We ate breakfast there again the following day (our last) and by then, they treated us like family. We didn't even have to order our eggs. He remembered exactly what we liked and just brought them. The only thing I would caution you about is if you are having the room prepared for an additional guest, there is a rather high additional charge and the fold out bed is not very comfortable. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!
