"Around since 1851, Bouvet Ladubay in Saumur produces 20 different types of sparkling wine. Try them all during a visit to the award-winning winery—just don’t expect a typical tasting experience. Here, guests can learn about the winemaking process while riding vintage bicycles through Bouvet Ladubay’s three miles of ancient cellars, located beneath the ruins of the 11th-century Abbey of St-Florent de Saumur. The tour, which includes several tastings, takes about 90 minutes."
Great fun cycling through the wine caves. Bikes are provided, but be aware not all tours are by bike, so you may want to stop by to book a day in advance. Lovely and cool when the heat outside is too much. And beautiful Chateaux style carvings in the caves. Recommended.

Had a nice welcome from the front desk. They give tours by walk-in or by appointment in various languages. Restrooms were impeccable. The cave tours were very interesting and beautiful. The history of these caves goes back to the 900s. Wonderful property and brand with exquisite taste. Thank you to the super friendly, welcoming, and informative staff. Prices are also great for this we'll established brand.

Really interesting and informative tour. We booked a bike tour via the website two days beforehand for €9 each. My husband and I were the only ones so it was a private tour! You ride a vintage bike around the caves and learn about how they make their wines. We tasted about 3-4 sparkling wines after and really enjoyed them. Highly recommended. Thank you Audrey (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) for the great tour!

Had an interesting underground tour of where the wines used to be made. But, was a bit disappointed to find out that 90% of there 6 millions bottles a year production was sparking wines and they also do not plant their own grapes.

We booked a tour and tasting through Rue des Vignerons. The woman who gave the tour spoke very good English and was informative. The only downside was that the group was so large it was sometimes difficult to hear during both the tour and the tasting.

Had a fabulous cave bike tour here. We did a bike tour of the caves which was very informative and fun, and then had a wine tasting. They have delicious wines and the tour guide was personable and interesting.

Nice tour of the winery - we only had time for the walking tour but the cycling version sounded better. Tasting was good at the end (lovely wines) - however, our guide spent too much time selling to other folks as opposed to telling us about the wines.

Biking underground tour was fun and informative. Our guide, Olivia explained the process of making sparkling wine the old way.
