Looking forward to celebrating 49 years of marriage to my beautiful wife. I’ve been here once before we took our family there looking to recreate that great experience October 23 Well we are here and this place will not disappoint. Great atmosphere food is well presented and delicious. No complaints here. Please stop by and enjoy the experience of a quaint, relaxing atmosphere.

Haven’t been to this location in quite some time. Had 5pm Reservations this past Sunday. We were seated in the upstairs part of the Restaurant. Very cozy and quiet. Lea was our Server, she was so nice and friendly and was always there when we needed her. We started with the Shrimp Cocktail. Lea warned us that the Cocktail sauce had a kick, and it did not disappoint! Great Shrimp with strong Horseradish flavor in the sauce. We both ordered Steak which was perfectly cooked/seasoned.We shared the Au Gratin Potatoes and the Creamed Spinach which was plenty for two people to share. We had the Red Velvet Cheesecake for dessert, which was a perfect ending to the meal. We were celebrating a Birthday and really enjoyed ourselves! Thank you Lea! 😃

Though EVERY staff member we encountered was extraordinarily delightful, it was like our server Ryanne knew us personally. The food was beyond amazing and was everything Ryanne said it would be. The atmosphere upstairs was intimate. The cost is not for the faint of heart, but when out spending the evening celebrating with the love of your life, cost was not the focus.

Fantastic dinner! Went on our honeymoon, we got the escargot, grilled Cesar salad, potatoes au gratin, filet mignon and ribeye, and the peanut butter brownie for dessert. Food was fabulous, service impeccable. Wouldn’t change a thing.

The filet mignon was great and they nailed the temperature. They initially seated us at a weird table where I was practically sitting next to the guy behind me. We got moved to a better table. Our server wasn't very attentive to our table at times because he was busy yakking about the restaurant industry to the table next to us. But other than that we had a good time.

Awesome experience for an expensive dinner out on the town at Bowdie’s. Got this place recommended by multiple locals, so had to check it out. We had Ryanne as our server and they did a phenomenal job! Very attentive, friendly, and provided great service through a slow, not rushed dinner. Drinks were good and food came out quick. We had the grilled ceasar salad, 10oz fillet, brussel sprouts, and a gratin potatoes. Everything was quite yummy. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare). We even got a free dessert since we’re on our honeymoon! The red velvet cheesecake was decadent. Recommend a reservation. If we’re ever back in town this’ll definitely be a place to stop. Only thing that wasn’t perfect was the volume. Towards the end of the night some of the other guests got really loud, and since it’s a small place it was really loud at our table as well. Server apologized for it and all was well, but know that if folks get too boisterous it’ll get loud!

Bowdies Chophouse delivered an excellent dining experience overall! My absolute favorites were the Dirty Martini—perfectly made—and the wedge salad, which was crisp, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection—carved tableside by our charming and attentive waiter, which added a special touch. The horseradish sauce is a must—elevates the steak to the next level. For sides, the potatoes au gratin were incredible—rich, cheesy, and perfectly baked. The creamed spinach, however, missed the mark for me—too watery (1/5). The crab cake appetizer was just okay (2/5), not bad but not memorable. Service was phenomenal from start to finish—attentive, professional, and friendly. A great spot for a special night out, and I’d definitely come back for the steak, salad, and martinis!

Three of us ordered the filet done medium. The cut was beautiful and tender. However, one arrived MW, one M, and one MR. All three were heavily crusted in salt that interfered with the flavor of the beef. Our server was very friendly. The drink refills, bar and softdrinks, was very slow. Overall it was not a good value for the pricepoint

We come once in a while for special days and it is great. The service is always great, the bartender is from Chicago so our family always talks about sports with him. The inside is nice and has a moonlit dinner type vibe. I usually get the filet mignon and it has the best crust I've had in a steak. Always like coming here and will definitely be back for This year

9.5/10 | Chef's kiss | We got Bone Marrow (10/10), Brussels and Belly (9/10), and the Porterhouse (9.5/10). We spent $230 for the two of us, including two drinks. We aren't big drinkers and wasn't the biggest fan of our mixes. The restaurant is pretty small and crowded. Friendly waitress. We went in mid-March right when it opened and luckily it wasn't too busy when we got there. We were problably there for two hours and it wasn't full capacity when we left. For how close the tables and seating the seating were, I am glad it didn't get full. Inside is simple and nice. There is a bar with 5-7 seats, and 5-7 tables varying in table occupancy. We were seated by the kitchen and bathroom (table for only two). It was cool we could see the chefs cooking our steak and watch every plate come out with our food watering even if it wasn't ours! Bone Marrow: (10/10) was big for the price in my opinion. (Sadly I did not get a picture) I cannot recall if it was one or two bones, but compared to the Viviant in Grand Rapids, best bone marrow I had so far. Brussels & Belly: (9/10) there was definitely some brussels and belly being brought home after our meal. The combination was nice (I LOVE LOVE LOVE PORK BELLY) and do like that the belly was soft. I would prefer it soft over crispy, but I do wish there was more crunch texture in the dish. The Porterhouse : (9.5/10) the beautiful steak was placed on a hot plate, cooking and staying warm while we ate. The steak was served in the middle of the table, and we were served hot plates of melted butter. Simple yet delicious. I would recommend coming here at least once for the experience. I probably would not go back for a $50-$175 steak unless it was an absolute special event or had money like that, but all in all was great. Our waitress was friendly and did a good job checking up on us. You dont get good service nowadays.

This is a fantastic place. From the moment we walked in until we left, we were made to feel as if we were the only diners. Quite a compliment since the place was full. The food although not inexpensive was worth every penny. Our meal was amazing. We want to thank the manager for coming to our table personally to fix a slight wobble. My wife and I want to especially thank our server Ryanna S. She could not have been any better. She is everything a perfect server should be. Knows the menu, great recommendations, friendly and always there if we needed anything. We highly recommend Bowdie's! You will not be disappointed.

This is our second year in a row to take a January pilgrimage from Chicago to Saugatuck and have dinner at Bowdie's. Our experience has been so positive both times that we plan to make this a tradition! First of all, Bowdie's decorated beautifully for the season with lights and greenery. Before even entering the building, you are blown away with the visual curb appeal. Once inside, the staff offer a warm and welcoming experience from start to finish. We especially loved our hostess who was helpful, kind, and warm. For example, she helped me to think through which cocktails to get and I loved both! Speaking of cocktails, I started with the Cucumber Gimlet which was refreshing and flavorful. I ended with the BG which was decadent and delicious. I'd recommend both! My husband got the Bell's Two Hearted from the local beer draft list. We were torn to start between the Brussel sprouts and the asparagus, so our server invited us to get a half order of both...so we did. Both were divine and bursting with flavor! The asparagus was a bit more crisp and veggie forward while the Brussel sprouts were rich and bursting with flavor. For the main meal we split the truffle fries and Kansas City cut steak. The truffle fries were so umami and delicious. We would highly recommend them! We topped the Kansas City cut steak with blue cheese crumbles and it was absolutely perfect. The steak was decadent, rich, and so so good. We loved every bite! We were so so full that we were not able to get dessert, but their options sounded/looked great! While the prices are high, it is definitely worth it for the high quality ingredients, dynamic recipes, and upscale presentation. The building itself is warm, welcoming, intimate, chic, and historic. All this to say, Bowdie's has won our hearts as an ideal date-night getaway. We look forward to our next visit in the future!

We made a reservation online and have never been to a Bowdie's before but have only heard good things! We were very pleased with service our server Anne was one of the nicest and friendliest waitress I have met. She had great recommendations and a lot of knowledge. We came in for our anniversary and we will definitely be back to request Anne! Food was amazing the price was worth it the tomahawk steak melts in your mouth! Looking forward to coming back next year.

The Bone-In Ribeye was excellent. As was the asparagus. Au gratin potatoes were very good. Cocktails, coffee, dessert, all on that same level. Service was attentive but not overbearing, with well informed personable servers. Busy but not too crowded on a Wednesday. It's a steakhouse, no mistaking that, and not inexpensive, but it was a special occasion and worth it. Would need to be a similar occasion, but would go back.

This might deserve more than 3 stars but a restaurants that tries to be a high end steakhouse isn't excellent the rating needs to reflect that. While our food ; steaks, appetizers and dessert were good, they really didn't live up to what I expect from a first class steakhouse. Given that the options for this kind of restaurant are limited on the lakeshore, this may be the only option for some. However, for the money try to make it to some of the premium steakhouses in Grand Rapids, Chicago, or even Indianapolis before yo think this is the best steakhouse you can find.

Chef zack does an amazing job in the kitchen, the service is impeccable as well. Lawrence took care of us for my birthday and gave us the epitome of a fine dining experience. One of the best meals I have had in Michigan. Bowdies in saugatuck is a must dine, if you want a good meal you have to stop here.

I really don't know what to say about Bowdie's Chophouse. We've been coming to Bowdie's several times a year for the past 3 - 4 years. We've come in season and out of season. It just seems to get worse and worse. A few years ago I'd give it 5 stars. I'd like to give it 3.5. Since I can't do that there's no way I'll give it 4 stars. So 3 it is. We made a reservation for a high top table on the porch. She tried to seat us at a small table inside in the corner. When asked about the high top, she saw that's what we reserved but the the response was... sorry not available. So rather than sit at the small table in the corner, we opted for the bar. We've been at the bar before so I thought that would be ok. I ordered the escargot. It was barely ok. The bread was something you'd get at the supermarket. And the seasoning was underwhelming. What's worse, the salads came before I had even finished the escargot. So much for a relaxing meal. When you spend 140 bucks on a steak, you expect it to be perfectly cooked to temperature (it was), but you also expect it to come to the table sizzling hot, nice outer crust and well seasoned (it wasn't). Sent both steaks back. They came back a little warmer, but still below what I expect from a top steakhouse. As for the sides, the potatoes au gratin were good, but the mushrooms were under seasoned. And, why am I refilling my own wine glass? The bartender walks by my empty glass repeatedly but won't stop to pour me some wine. Come on. He took away the plate of mushrooms while there were still some mushrooms on the plate, but never asked it was ok to clear the plate. He also took away my steak and never asked if I was done. Seriously? At 140 bucks maybe I wanted to pick at the bone a little. And, please get a better tequila selection. These days, some bottles of Clase Azul and Casamigos just doesn't do it anymore. The last couple visits to Bowdie's have been underwhelming. I don't know what's going on, but Bowdie's is not what it was a couple years ago. Yet the prices are still sky high. Not a good combination. Not sure if we'll be back.

Disappointed.... I've been here several times and had a great experience. This time we had to send our filets back because the chef heavily salted them. So much salt that it made us cough. 30 minutes later and still no steaks. Nothing offered as an option. Bartenders were nice enough but the kitchen staff needs some work. One of the "chefs" even wore a straw cowboy hat in plain view of the customers. I'm not sure this is the same quality restaurant that it used to be

I was visiting Saugatuck with my mom, sister, and baby nephew. We wanted to have a nice dinner so decided to book a reservation here. Pros: food was delicious, portions were huge, and our server was very friendly. Cons: We requested standard table since we have a stroller and I put in the notes of the open table reservation that we would have a stroller. We got a high top table in the front part of the place rather than the main dining area. It seems that they shoved everyone in the front part so it felt very stuffy, hot, and loud. There was no air flow. The place is also not wheelchair accessible like it states on Google and yelp. Luckily there weren't too many stairs so carrying the stroller up was fine but definitely not ideal if someone is in a wheelchair.

Terrible experience overall. We ordered a porterhouse steak medium and it came out completely well done. We notified the team and they came back and said the strip portion was medium and they are bringing it back out to our table. They then offered to put down a filet in exchange for the well done filet. Sure this was great, thank you. But this was 10pm at night. The manager came over to address the situation and never apologized and told us "you like what you like". Excuse me? Our server noticed the steak was well done when it was set on our table. It was completely cardboard. We also ordered a side of truffle fries that never came out until we asked for them as well. We were only compensated with 35% off the steak. Absolutely horrible customer service. The manager should improve her attitude and conversation with customers.

Service was awful. We got seated 20 mins after our rez (only after I complained). We got our food 1 1/2 hrs after being seated (only after I complained) . Our waiter showed up once during that time. Manager's comment when I complained was it takes 45 mins to cook a steak. Steak was ok, nothing special. Truffle fries were ok, nothing special.

First time eating here and it did not disappoint! It is somewhat expensive but worth it. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and served on a plate of melted garlic butter that enhanced the flavor of the steak unbelievably. All sides are sold separately-we had the brussel sprouts, Mexican street corn, & au gratin potatoes. They were small portions to be split 4 ways but ended up being plenty and they were ALL delicious. Had the double chocolate brownie & strawberry sorbet for dessert. Both of them were outstanding as well. We ate outside on the patio and should have worn mosquito spray because we did get several bites. The service was very good we had several different waiters attending to our table keeping it clean and refreshing drinks. Overall an excellent dining experience. Will return next time we are in Saugatuck!

Fantastic! Best steak I've had in Michigan and a top 3 or 4 I've ever had! Great wine list, too!

Vacationing in Saugatuck for the next few days and this place had good reviews so wanted to check it out. Cute little restaurant in a home like setting. We were seated in the second floor and it was great, not too crowded or noisy as is by the bar downstairs. Our waitress was super sweet and friendly. Maybe Katie? Can't quite remember. Had the bone marrow starter, and shared several "shareables" as we wanted to try a lot of things. Tried the Brussels and pork belly, lobster Mac and truffle fries. Omgg everything was excellent! Had the espresso martini and Paloma for drinks. Definitely worth a visit.

Well worth a visit if you are in town. This is an absolutely perfect intimate steakhouse that knows exactly what it's doing and serves you (by far) the most delicious steak. We had shrimp cocktail to start. Their cocktail sauce is some of the best I've had! Then we split a Caesar salad which was super yummy. I then had the filet mignon with a side of potatoes. All of that with a delicious red and life is pretty darn perfect! The wait staff were friendly and efficient. The ambience perfect for a date night. As our waitress said. The drinks are strong, the plates are hot and the portions are large! I highly recommend.

We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and we greeted with a big smile and were told we're excited you are here. Everything at Bowdies is excellent! The service is attentive without being overbearing, they do not rush you to turn the table. The steaks are among my favorite, perfectly done with great flavor. Whenever we are in town we come here!

Food was good, but atmosphere was similar to a casual neighborhood steak house. Disappointing

BOWDIES!!!!!!!! Listen, If I know anything, I know a great piece of meat when I taste it! Lol What an amazing find! We were in the mood for a wonderful dinner and Bowdies knocked it out of the park. The steaks are large enough for splitting. which I recommend. The sides were equally delish. We had the steak prepared med-rare, a side of potatoes, mushrooms, and a wedge salad. We ended up having beignets for dessert...Omg!!! Everything was perfectly prepared. The restaurant is rather small with 12 tables on the inside so reservations are a must. This is a local favorite! If you are in the area, this is a must try!

Bowdies has to be the best restaurant in Saugatuck. Everything I tried was superb. The "Cowboy Ribeye" was one of the best steaks I've ever had. From the outside, the building itself looks like a house. As for the interior, it's classy but not over the top. Indoor seating is limited and outdoor seating is available during the warmer months. The service was attentive and professional. All chop/steak houses are pricey, so that's to be expected. In saying that, the Bowdies dining experience is worth every penny.

It's been a year and a half since my boyfriend and I dined here and we still talk about how incredible the food was! We had wonderful service and were seated upstairs, which had a small and quiet atmosphere. Our steaks were great, and we loved the truffle fries, lobster macaroni and cheese. To this day we still talk about the escargot! We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Michigan. This trip to Michigan was our first solo trip together. We came for the tulips, but Bowdie's was the highlight of our trip! We joke sometimes about driving all the way up to Michigan for a day just to eat here again.

They put right next to the bathroom. On the second floor. All night we had people stomping up the stairs and going to the bathroom and then leaving the door open for us to appreciate the odors coming from there. They said the steak would come out on a three hundred degree plate. The plate was warm to the touch. If it is not going to be hot then don't tell us it is going to be. The next thing was I ordered a 24 oz steak and it was 16 oz at best and a lot of fat. That being said tasted good but disappointing

Great dirty martini. The steaks are perfectly cooked the way you want. Medium rare is medium rare. The grilled caesar salad with a bit of the garlic is something I always go back to order. It's tiny but the locals are super sweet. Food is great.

This review is strictly about the fact that I left three voicemails over the course of about eight days that were never returned. In my messages, I asked if I could reserve a seat to dine at the bar. I've done this several times in the past with no problem. I was looking forward to seeing Lewis, a great bartender. If they couldn't accommodate me, that's fine. Please just have the courtesy to return my call. My dinner there typically runs about $200. I was also planning to purchase a $200 gift card. Bowdie's, you lost $400 by not responding to my voicemails. I invited you three times to accept my money. I won't do it again.

This is a steak house that is up with all the fine steak houses I've experienced! Started off with Caesar salad, which we could definitely split as a party of two. They did the charred Romaine, and this is the first time I actually didn't mind it or think it was completely irrelevant, but whatever charring never made the salad bad, it was just a trend I don't get :) We did not get them but many tables looked like they were getting escargots and bone marrow appetizers, both of which looked amazing, but as a party of two, we had to pick and choose! There was a great wine selection, and we chose a bottle of Prisoner. From the looks of it cocktails were also very popular choice at Bowdies. For dinner, I got the bone in filet, my companion got the filet, and we got sides of Brussels Sprouts and Truffle Fries. Everything was so very good. We finished off with red velvet cake cheesecake and Old Fashioned (the cocktail) cheesecake. Both were AMAZING!

We loved this steak house, service excellent, steaks perfectly cooked with a side of augrautin potatoes. Get the shrimp cocktail, biggest shrimp we've ever had. I had two old fashions and well worth the $. We will be back for bowdies

Great food, great service but DON'T let them stuff you in the cramped attic. It ruined my birthday dinner being so close to strangers.

Holy smokes the food was amazing! Definitely a good place for a group with the position sizes. It's pricey but worth it for the quality and taste. The lobster mac and cheese was heavenly. Went for a birthday and the server gave us a dessert on the house. Already planning our next visit.

You just don't want to miss this place. I'm not even a big steak person but I always have it here. The escargot, truffle fries and filet are our favorites. Service is always excellent. You can just tell when you're in a place where everyone loves their work and they value the job they get to do.

So fantastic I completely forgot to photograph my meal because I was so caught up in the moment. The flavor of my ribeye was incredible and the lobster was cooked perfectly!

The food never disappoints. Had another wonderful steak tonight. Not a busy night for a Monday, so expectations for great service should not have been too difficult. It was by all means not terrible, but no need to have empty water glasses and when the steak came out had to wait for our side. Server was friendly, just would have appreciated a little more attention to detail.

The ideal ambience for date night, we went for my birthday and it truly felt so special! The portions are generous and the drinks were fantastic. The best filet I've ever had and the scallops for an appetizer were to die for. Our server was delightful and even brought our complimentary beignets for my birthday!

As a local family i love this place. It is very small and quaint but so worth it. It is hard to get in for a reason. The food is incredible i suggest the broccoli cheddar soup

Long time happy customer always very impressed with quality steaks, and outstanding wait staff. Last night our server was Ryan who was outstanding. She was most professional, informative and also made us feel like family. In fact the friends we took, who had never been to Bowdies, said they plan to be regulars after such a good experience. The best dining experience I've ever had. Ever. Our server, Elijah, made this night suck a special one. He knew everything about the menu and was so attentive and friendly. He also parsed out our order so we could enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The food was sublime. Perfectly cooked and seasoned steak, uniquely delicious potatoes, and the best soup I've ever tasted, shrimp bisque. We sat upstairs in a cozy little nook and the evening was a perfect one. Reservations are a must. They are booked weeks in advance.

Excellent in every aspect. 4 stars plus. Lawrence was our bartender and waiter and he should be in management. Reservations are a must. The meals are very large so my wife and I split a wedge salad and filet mignon and truffle fries. The salad and filet were perfect but we have had better truffle fries. Definitely the #1 restaurant in Saugatuck. We shall return.

Great service, good cocktails, amazing ribeye, AND I have to say the best lobster mac I've ever had! All of the portions were pretty big and shareable. Will definitely be back! A tip for same day reservations: walk by when they open if you can. They were booked online but when walking by they made room for the two of us later on that night- Very accommodating!

OverRated. Do not come here. No one can make a proper whiskey cocktail to save their life. 1.35 hrs later, no steaks or entrees. Manager offered to comp app and two drinks. Not Good Enough for a special occasion or for these prices. Other tables nearby annoyed too. One walked out. We left, too. PS - My Bday and my Boyfriend felt so bad. Not his fault but hope any or you don't make this mistake.

Make your reservations early. Bowdies was booked weeks ahead of time, and for good reason. The ambiance was casual inside and out. There is outdoor seating on the patio. We dined upstairs in a nearly private room. Often those rooms get less attention, but our server Lisa was very attentive. The cocktail and wine lists are extensive. My martini was excellent and the pours of wine were generous. I highly recommend the grilled Caesar, which was large and made to perfection. I also highly recommend the creamed spinach, which was prepared slightly differently than the usual. The steaks were excellent. Mine was slightly over-done the first time, and not only did they replace it without objection - this time perfect rare plus - but they took it off the bill. My only complaint was that they didn't let us bring a special bottle of Caymus (since they had it on the list) and that the water glasses needed refilling toward the end). But overall, excellent.

Bowdie's is my fave chophouse. Amazing service. The steaks are best. It's one of the only places I'll pay that much for a steak and KNOW I can't do better at home.

Great place for food and wonderful service! One of my favorite restaurants!! Staff is friendly and the food is outstanding!

My wife and I went here a couple of days ago for our first anniversary, and it was incredible. I was not expecting such a homey, cozy, yet clean and classy atmosphere. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye, Oberon beer, and Truffle fries which I shared with my wife. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon, Au Gratin Potatoes, and the Happy Wife cocktail, with extra orange juice to soften the impact of the Vodka. Our server was Elijah, and he did a TERRIFIC job, cheerful, helpful, professional, and respectful towards my wife and I. He checked in on us frequently, but not too frequently, and was very helpful in determining what to order. I would highly recommend this steak house! I should add, the bill was right about $200 before the tip, so come prepared to spend. It is worth it!

If you are looking for a night out with your significant other in Saugatuck then this is the spot. World class service, drinks, sides and my goodness the steak was amazing. If there was a sixth star, we would give it to Bowdie's. Shoutout to our server too who has been doing it full time for 6 years; you don't keep high end talent unless it's a great spot.

Tonight we had a HORRIBLE experience at Bowdies in Saugatuck Michigan. We had a reservation for a 9 pm dinner and we're seated promptly, but unfortunately ended up having to walk out. We sat there for 20 minutes without having as much as a single person stop at the table for 1 second to say "Hi welcome to Bowdies" or take a drink order. I'm generally understanding and can be patient, but waiting for 20 minutes and not even being acknowledged or having the opportunity to have a drink while we wait is unacceptable. I'd have even settled for a quick: "hi, I'm so sorry we are a little behind at the moment and I'll be back shortly to take your drink order." When I confronted the manager, her response was totally unacceptable. There was no, "oh my god, I'm sorry, let me get you a drink right away" or solutions offered to make it right. We simply received excuses that they were busy and that their kitchen was too small and openly said that they are unable to offer acceptable service tonight. I expect much better from a restaurant where I was anticipating dropping $400 on a dinner for two. THE WORST PART: immediately after we left, they sat another couple at out table and were seating others as well. This means that they are seating customers that they knowingly and admittedly cannot provide service to. They should not be seating people that they know they cannot provide a reasonable degree of service to for an expensive meal. They are shamelessly seating far more tables than they are capable of serving. They either need to take measures to enhance their ability to provide service or reduce the number of tables they sit. This is straight greed to seat customers and charge a premium while knowingly cannot provide even basic service to. This is a SERIOUS management problem.

We arrived for our reservation for a late dinner and were promptly sat by the hostess. About 5 minutes someone came by without saying a word and dropped waters off then walked off. We then sat there for almost a half hour without a server coming to the table to even acknowledge us, let alone take a drink or appetizer order. While we were sitting and waiting, at least 10 different staff members walked by us and no one even looked our way. Shocked and disappointed is an understatement. We finally grabbed the managers attention and she kept giving excuses as to why food wasn't done (kitchen is small, guests won't leave, lots of people waiting), but she wasn't even listening to my issue: I had never even been given the opportunity to order a drink, let alone an over $100 steak, which we're planning to do. Last time I checked, drinks don't come from the kitchen. She seemed frazzled and overwhelmed. The manager admitted multiple times that the resultant did not currently have the capacity to provide the service they were accustomed to providing. She didn't even attempt to remedy the situation for us. I would expect more from a manager at a high end restaurant. I understand staffing and kitchen limitations, but then you need to sit the appropriate amount of tables. It comes off as greedy and money hungry to keep shoveling people in, knowing you can't provide them good service. At a restaurant as expensive as Bowdie's, I would expect quality to come first. We ended up walking out and leaving just to see that they sat someone else at our table not 5 minutes after, proving that they do not care about providing good service to their customers, they just care about padding their bank account.

You can literally come here just for the cocktail menu. It has all my favorite classics- the aviation, corpse reviver, vesper, French 75! We did not plan enough ahead to make a reservation, until the day before, when we were already in Saugatuck. Fortunately, we went to the restaurant in person and snagged two seats at the bar for the next night at 730. I agree with other reviewers here- two people can split one steak. We started with escargot, then split a proper medium rare fillet, as well as two sides (potatoes au gratin and seasonal veg, which was grilled corn). This was more than enough food, and we had great service from Devin the bar tender.

The cocktail menu is substantial and very tasty. Oysters were on the special menu and they did not disappoint. The wedge salad was delicious. Our table had different steaks and everyone was happy with their order. The sides are delicious, especially the lobster Mac! Our server,Lane, was knowledgeable and very helpful with menu options! Food was great and service was even better! Thanks Lane!
