Bowe's was a great spot to find even more of the best pours of Guinness in the city of Dublin. Get here while you're in the area.

Dropped in for a couple of pints last Saturday night after a meal in town. I have to say the atmosphere in Bowes is always great. Friendly staff and just the buzz in the place is always spot on. We had a few pints of their delicious Guinness which is certainly up there on a par with the best pints around. I would highly recommended you visit next time you are in the area.

The best pint of Guinness in Ireland, in the best pub in the county. Amazing pub, amazing staff, if you’re lucky you may get a nice ham and cheese Toastie. Highly recommend, true Irish pub in the centre of the city.

Exceptional pint of Guinness. We (6 mixed-race men) were welcomed here on Tuesday after being refused service at Mulligans by a racist barman. We felt down due to our treatment and Bowes made us feel welcomed. We came back on Wednesday morning before our flight back home, though sadly we are unlikely to return to Dublin due to the treatment at Mulligan’s

I visited Bowe's on a recent day trip with the lads. We spent all day visiting various pubs and rating the Guinness and this was by the best looking and best tasting pint. Outstanding.

Don’t be put off by the exterior. It’s a great, cosy pub. Friendly welcome, good pints and very comfy benches. The kind of place you could happily stay all day. Oh, and if you want an incredible selection of whiskey, they have you covered.

Great atmosphere, the bartenders were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my visit at Bowe’s and will definitely visit again

First time in Dublin and this pub was recommended by a friend and this place did not disappoint. First time having guiness. It was excellent!

Bowes Whiskey Bar was a great experience while in Dublin; it was my favorite bar during my time in Ireland. Bowes feels like a local small town bar that welcomes anyone. What stuck out most was the bar tender had an opportunity to take advantage of me as a tourist and chose not to, which meant a lot. The atmosphere was vibrant and joyful, it was busy, but not overcrowded, and the whiskey selection was vastly impressive. If I'm ever in Dublin again, I'll definitely return to Bowes. I'd recommend the bar to anyone visiting Dublin.

Excellent bar with a great after work / weekend crowd. Was able to catch one of the Six Nations games here and had a blast. It's small but worth hanging out at. The Guinness here tasted amazing as well.

Service - 10 Whiskey Selection - 10 Prices - 3.5 Pour - 3 Atmosphere - 8 I really like this bar. The bar tenders are extremely knowledgeable and help as well as prompt. The people are very nice and the decor is incredible. I look forward to coming back again and again.

Hidden gem! Was suggested to us by a local and it didn't disappoint. Stopped in on a Sunday night. The friendly barkeep suggested a local whiskey that was top notch. There was live local music that evening too, making the visit that much more memorable.

One of my favorite pubs overall in Dublin and the top one for an Irish whiskey or two. Best selection in town for whiskey and just enough off of the tourist path to be comfortable.

It is impossible not to love this little pub. Its big neighbour - Doyle's - actually works a good reference to find this little place. It looks small on the outside - and it is really small inside! But it is lovely and clean and irish old =) It is also a whisky bar - they have hundreds of different labels - but I always go for the old jamerson - don't know why. The beer is not expensive but not so many options.. Anyway, this place is perfect for small groups and maybe private parties. Or even as a warm up for the night.

Very friendly staff who know how to make a great drink! Live music happens frequently. Join the crowds on busy days and enjoy the ride!

Irish weather isn't all bad news. If it wasn't for the traditional July downpour, I'd never have ended up in this excellent boozer. To be honest, I've wandered down Fleet Street enough without ever seeing the place, although that might have something to do with Dublin Buses parked outside that have given the place a perpetual yellow and blue camouflage. It's an old-school sort of pub with some excellent beers on offer. As someone who's pretty much allergic to any kind of stout (it's what happens when you grow up in the town that invented Murphys), I didn't have high hope when a bottle of O'Hara's was presented. Making a stout that tastes a lot like coffee is inspired though and Bowes has a whole range of beers from Carlow Brewing to work through!

Decent 'nough pints, a bit on the spendy side, and LOADS of bottles of beer you're not too likely to come across many other places. This is an old school bar for old school beer lovers. So come along and drink there.

Il s'agit d'un pub typique irlandais (un vrai) en plein milieu de Dublin. Nous y sommes allés suite à la lecture de plusieurs blogs qui le mentionnent. Pas de déception l'endroit est cosy et agréable. Vous aurez assez de place pour vous installer et passer un bon moment. Le service est très aimable et saura vous renseigner parfaitement sur les bières qu'on ne trouve que difficilement ailleurs comme la o'Hara's ou la hop head! Également une grande variété de whiskys! Try it! It's a typical irish pub in the city center of Dublin. You can find reviews about it in many blogs that's why we decided to try it. We were not disapointed ! The atmosphere is cosy and quiet. There is a big choice of beers and whiskyes and the staff is very helpful. You can find beers like O'Hara's and Hop Head there ! So do not hesitate to try it anymore !!!

Great choice of whiskys as it name might suggest but don't except much if a selection of bourbon. Live Music was great. It's just around the corner from the Westin.

We stopped in on a Saturday night. We wanted to get away from the crowds in the Temple Bar area. What a pleasant find. We popped in around 9:30 and fortunately for us we helped put the stools on the bar to close up. Great bartenders and very nice patrons. My wife was offered a seat in the crowded, small pub. A few minutes later a gentleman offered me the entire table to sit at. We would have stayed for a drink but now that we had a table we got comfortable. Next to our table two fine patrons began conversation and the night flew by. The whiskey offerings are quite extensive and fairly priced. The deal of the night, as suggested by our new friends, was the whiskey of the month. Basically a fine whiskey at about half price. Great deal. We had a great evening.

What a lovely, small and old fashioned pub. Loved it. It of course has a snug which unfortunately but not surprisingly was occupied when we came in but that didn't made it less lovely to be here. Old dark wooded interior adds to the atmoshphere. They have a decent variety of craft beer, both draft and in bottles so that's an added plus. Glad I finally discovered this little gem and I hope to be back soon..

Nice relaxed little old fashioned pub. Easy to find a table to sit at and it was a breeze to grab more pints. A true gem!

Ah carpet in pubs - seemed like a great idea back in the day when smoking masked the smell of stale spilled beer. Well, Bowes has carpets. And that would-be panelling stuff on the walls (is it wood? is it wallpaper?). It's an old man pub with real live old men - the kind of pub that the Temple Bar, Oliver St John Gogarty etc are pastiche of. Great spot for a pint or several. And if you're still thirsty when the bar closes at half eleven you can go next door to Doyles (beloved of Trinity students - but don't worry, they don't venture into Bowes much, another reason why it's a great pub!).

Good beer and whisky/whiskey selection. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately if you want to pay with a US credit, contrary to visa/MasterCard rules they insist on charging you in USD using "dynamic currency conversion" and in doing so mark up everything by a claimed 3.5% ( and actually closer to double that - on top of the disclosed markup they use a poor exchange rate). This is impermissable by visa/MasterCard rules. Avoid if you would pay with a foreign CC.

Despite spending my formative years next door in Doyle's, I never found my way into Bowes pub next door until yesterday. What a hidden gem! A nice, relaxed old fashioned pub with a big selection of craft beers. My only gripe is that they don't sell any craft cider, only bulmers or kopparberg, but still will have to visit again soon.

Lovely pub to meet friends for a quiet pint. It's a real hidden gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of nearby College Green and Grafton Street. Bowes' also has a wonderful selection of craft beers, tasty whiskies, and of course the obligatory ham and cheese toastie. Well worth a visit.

If you like single malt Scotch, this the place to go in Dublin. when we were there last weekend they had 59 on sale. and the pints weren't bad either

Awesome non tourist trap Irish pub. We were the only americans in the pub, with about 4 or 5 local regulars hanging out.
