I was visiting family and went to the Move with Mr. Prather Live show. The show was amazing and the venue was perfect. The sound was great and the stage performance was perfect. So glad to have been in the Bowie center for Performaning arts.

Love our local Performing Arts Center. Always here for Joe Clair and Friends on the last Sat of each month. Also love that it's near my home, secure and secluded yet feels like you are in the city. This is a great addition for the City of Bowie. Got to take some photos after the show with the comedians. Great date night venue, like I said close to home but also feels like you were out of town, and why not, yes it's next to Bowie High School but it's not Bowie High School

A Night of Whitney: A Review of the Tribute Concert Last Saturday in Bowie, MD, we were transported back to the golden age of pop music with a fantastic tribute to the legendary Whitney Houston. From the moment the lights dimmed and the first notes echoed through the venue, we were captivated. The performer, who channeled Whitney's incredible vocal power and stage presence with remarkable accuracy. She effortlessly soared through challenging numbers like "I Will Always Love You" and "I Have Nothing," eliciting chills and more than a few teary eyes from the audience. But it wasn't just about hitting the high notes. The performer also captured the emotion and vulnerability that made Whitney's music so special. During quieter songs like "Greatest Love of All" and "Saving All My Love for You," She conveyed a depth of feeling that truly resonated with the crowd. Beyond the vocals, the entire production was a celebration of Whitney's legacy. The band was top-notch, the backup singers and dancers were phenomenal, and the stage design was simple yet elegant. It all came together to create a truly immersive experience that honored the iconic singer. Whether you're a lifelong Whitney Houston fan or simply appreciate incredible vocal talent, this tribute concert is a must-see. It's a powerful reminder of the impact Whitney had on the music world and a testament to her enduring legacy.

This place was nice and clean inside. It was my first time here. Mr. Elliott was hospitable. They have great art work displayed. I went for a private cowgirl/cowboy part. I would have something here if I ever had a party.

I took my family to a wonderfol performance on 12/18/21 - The Bell! The dancers did a beautiful job, the outfits were creative and elegant, the music uplifting! The center was comfortable, clean and inviting. Overall, an unforgettable experience! Thank you spirited dancers!

Yelp
No need to head to DC if you're a Marylander for good Comedy Shows as this jewel is right in the heart of Bowie-next to Bowie High School. Hosted by TV Personality, Radio Show Host, Comedian....Joe Claire! Lots of laughs, great comedians, plenty of parking!! Ticket prices are extremely reasonable. There is also food and drinks for purchase. These Comedy shows take place at the end of every month...2 shows to choose from which are the 7pm and 9:30 pm shows.

Yelp
Another great evening of laugh out loud comedy with Sheryl Underwood, Mike Washington hosted by Joe Clair. Always a fun evening. The dj before the band was too loud. Had to shout to be heard. Otherwise a great night.

Yelp
A friend and I attended 'Not the Man I Married' last night. This was my first time visiting the venue. For this particular event, the ticket system was kinda odd (to us); your ticket is reserved for a range of rows, versus an actual seat. Of course, folks were using hand bags and jackets to reserve seats, some of which were never occupied. Annoying, but not unexpected. The seating, lighting and sound was decent, definitely not state-of-the-art, but good enough for me to return. Apparently, they have many events here (e.g., stage plays, comedy shows, recitals, etc.) __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

Yelp
It is a beautiful auditorium that seems updated from what previous reviews tell. I believe the staff does their best; many are older, and dealing with large crowds can be overwhelming. I haven't had any issues and have been here 3 times now for several events. I am glad our community is being exposed to arts, and our kids are part of creating these fantastic tunes/events.

Yelp
Went to a Michael Jackson impersonation show and I had a great time. Yes, the audio was not of the quality of a major theater, yes, the theater is small, but what can one is expect of a theater in a high school? It was great for what it was, and as a local resident, I enjoyed seeing a show in the suburbs instead of having to go into DC or Baltimore. Also, the staff members working the event were polite and professional.

Yelp
This theater really needs an overhaul. It's old, the seats are not comfortable and some of the chairs squeak which can be annoying when you're watching a performance. They don't allow any food or drink except in the lobby so if you get thirsty during a performance you're out of luck - gotta step out to get a sip of water.

Yelp
Unfortunately, due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the manager/director of the venue my experience was horrific. I arrived stunned as I watched him berate and bully people in the lobby area. The staff quietly told me that this is not an anomaly; he does this often (even to them). While people were waiting to get tickets from the office, he was putting his hands in people's faces, yelling, ignoring patrons, and causing a seemingly unnecessary raucous in public. The person at the brunt of his anger seemed to ignore him and retreat to her place of inner solace while he bullied her. The staff looked on in shame and the patrons (including myself) looked on in horror. It turned out that he was the person that should have been in the ticket booth handing out tickets! So, we waited (almost missing the beginning of the show) because of his tirade. We heard him complaining and gossiping about the members of the play and his staff all throughout the ticketing process. It's a shame that a venue with such a dedicated support staff is managed by this monster. I see that a previous complaint was submitted by an African-American woman. Not much has changed since he was only bullying the African-American women that night as well. Shame.

Yelp
The performing aspect is wonderful but the staff, especially the Exec. Director is the absolute worst. The other workers - security, box office and ushers are good but that male Exec. Dir. is the absolute rudest and the worst. They can't grow with a person like that in charge.

Yelp
Year after year I have to attend here due to Bowie high performances being held here. Basically it's parents wanting to see their children perform. We are told we can't video or photograph our children. Now when the show is over we are basically being kicked out of lobby. We have to pick our kids up in the dark and rain outside. So now we still can't take pics if it's rainy and dark outside. The treatment at this place gets worse all the time.

Yelp
We had one good experience at this arts center, but our second one was almost disastrous since they do not coordinate parking with the other facilities that use the parking lot. When we arrived for a 500 guest event, the entire lot was filled with cars for two sporting events being held during some of the same time period on the adjoining fields. The director of the center told us that they do not control parking, but their office told me earlier that week that there were no other events scheduled that day. Even if they do not control the lot, they should at least coordinate with the other groups who use it so there is ample parking for guests coming to an event held by a group that has paid large amount of money to rent the Center. Not to coordinate this is grossly unjust to all concerned.
