Bowling & Bistro Merlijn

The service and atmosphere was great but the food was not good enough for the price we paid. We liked the hamburger, carpaccio, the spare ribs, the calamari rings, and the crunchy cauliflower. The deer is not tasty though, and the shrimp also didn't have much taste. The mark-up for the price of the Fristi was amusing.

Felt a little tricked. There's gorgeous photos posted online of the dining room with stylish furniture so I was looking forward to our birthday dinner - but they don't sit you here - the main dining room turns out to be a dark area full of old tacky decor of Merlin the wizard. One women who was supposed to sit at the table next to us even complained and demanded she would sit in the "nice" area. Besides that the food was great. Highly recommend the pork with mushroom truffle sauce and the goat cheese brulee.

Loved the ambience of the medieval part of the restaurant and the friendly staff was great as well. The food was great, especially for an all-you-can-eat establishment, and the old fashioned order coupons on which you had to write down your order kept us from frequently using our phones. The dessert menu could use a bit of an upgrade, especially as the Cheesecake was no-bake and as a coinesseur of Cheesecakes I was a bit let down because of that. All in all I had a great time though and will be looking forward to our next visit.

The medieval fantasy themed interior was really fascinating. You can see it has been furnished with a lot of effort and passion. The food was prepared with care and the wide variety of desserts were also a welcome addition to the concept. Despite the fact that it was quite busy, the rounds were serviced at a quick pace. Unfortunately, at the end of the evening, the staff mixed up our table and had some difficulty with managing the kitchen logistics. It was a wonderful experience nevertheless!

Bowling & Bistro Met Lijn in Oosterhout offers delicious food with plenty of choices, making it a great spot for dining. The staff was okay, but I didn’t go bowling, so I can’t comment on that. Overall, a good experience for food lovers!

Always a nice place to go for a great night out. Friendly staff and quick service. Nice food and you can go bowling here as well! Great for work or family events and to go out with friends.

Food was incredible and the servings are just perfect. Given that this is their first weekend serving the new lunch menu the crew did an amazing job and made sure my friends and I were comfortable. A special mention to the Magic boxes concept, the combination of those three dishes were executed well!

Tasty food, nice waiters, a lot of choices of food and good quality. I do reccomend! Better make the reservation because it’s full on weekends ;)

Popular "all you can eat" concept is perfect to try and share a big variety of small dishes.The quality of dishes is very good but wine a bit pricey.Great atmosphere!!! The staff is very kind and helpful.English menu available under request. Nice place to spend an evening.
