Bowmont Motel

Don't waste your money! Through expedia we reserved the family room and requested a ground floor to accommodate a person with a wheelchair. We reserved 2 nights but during check-in the rude lady at the front desk said she couldn't give us the second night because they were completely sold out. She gave us a room on second floor with no elevator in the hotel it would have been impossible for my daughter to access. I told her we booked the premium family room on ground floor courtyard and paid their premium price for that room but she said we didn't. She proceeded to start cancelling our room, but changed her mind and said she had another room on the ground floor a deluxe queen, we took the room out of desperation. When we got to the room it was disgusting, the worst hotel I ever stayed in, it wasn't retro and quaint, it felt like a horror movie, it was old, dirty and stinky it smelled like someone chain smoked in the room and did i mention it felt so disgustingly dirty. We stayed the night out of desperation and we so grateful we didn't actually get the second night. We checked into the Balcomo by Ramanda for our second night in Penticton and were so relived for have a clean room. We paid $350 to stay at Bowmont for the worst experience ever, never paying that much again to be treated so rudely for a gross hotel experience. Save your money stay literally anywhere else.

We were staying at riverside and wanted to extend our stay for one night and the bowmont had space so we moved over here for a night. The outdoor areas were so nice! The room was clean and large and the bed was comfy. No complaints, would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at the Bowmont Motel. The location was perfect with everything we needed nearby, and the staff provided wonderful customer service. Our room was clean and met all our basic needs, with that kitschy blast from the past vibe that was actually quite charming. The pool is fabulous and we really enjoyed it. The price was excellent value, especially for budget travelers who want a comfortable place to rest. It's not fancy, but it's exactly what we were looking for. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area.

Our daughters enjoyed the pool and the location is perfect for kids. Near the beach, skate and adventure park was perfect along with plenty of dining options. The room was spacious and clean, staff was very helpful and welcoming. We will be returning for future family getaways.

Wonderful and kind staff, amazing pool, fantastic location and really cool courtyard/bbq area. Rooms are spacious and functional. Our kids love it here.

Perfect location for a get together with friends and kids. Low key environment, easy walk to many child friendly activities.Bbq area and pool met our needs. If you’re looking for high end and fancy, this is not the place. If family friendly, casual and accessible is what you want, it fits the bill.

Great experience overall the automatic door locks could use some work. The batteries needed replacing we were locked out for some time till the owners got a hold of the maintenance person to replace them. We missed a dinner reservation because of it. Other than that good clean and close to all the amenities. Would book again.

The room didn’t smell fresh or good. It smelled old and stale. The mattress was comfy though! But the frame was loud and squeaky. Decorations and room was cute. I like the amenities that came with the little kitchenette. Bathroom was also new looking. The sink was super clogged tho it made it hard to use it without it filling up to the brim. The only small and brief interaction I had with any staff is when we checked in and we had a pleasant experience with them. Greeted by a very cute dog in clothing!

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service.

I'm 43 and have been coming here since I was born. A classic, well maintained and proudly retro family motel run by two genuine and friendly owners featuring the best courtyard and pool in Penticton! A hundred yards from Okanagan Beach, numerous restaurants and entertainment venues.

We will most definitely be back! I love the staff...the joint is tidy and it is close to the strip. Great place for families because the courtyard has slides and adventure park is across the road.

An older motel with a good location. Rooms are dated, but patio and pool are excellent. I would stay there again, but probably not at their current pricing schedule.

A great place to stay if you're on a budget. It's in walking distance to many pubs and restaurants. It's right by the beach so the location is great. The owners are so very friendly and helpful with what to see and do in Penticton. The only issue we had was this place is old. Very old. Things were starting to fall apart. Our bed was soft and bouncy. The towels were wearing thin. Our sink was leaking and didn't have hot water. However, just a quick mention and they replaced the whole faucet for us! Great attention to detail by the owners. They offered us wine glasses upon check-in and were gracious enough to give us a bigger room.

This place is amazing..hosts Sam and her mom were very welcoming. Opened our room door..entered the 60's..spotless..great pool..bbq area..what a gem..will book a week next year.I would rate this property 6 stars if I could! Johnathan and Cynthia

This place was disgusting. It smelled like a cat was living in the room/ died in the room/ peed all over everything. The smell of mold was prevalent. Their cleaning ladies are a joke. They literally don't change the sheets. They re-made the bed and put my pillows I had brought from home in the disgusting blankets. We literally had to put the comforter outside because it reeked like urine. The toilet leaked all over the bathroom and it was just an extremely unpleasant experience over all. They also made us pay before we stayed there, I'm assuming because they know how gross their motel is and if they don't demand payment right away they won't make any revenue.

The woman at the front desk is extremely rude and ignorant. They state they accept Visa, Mastercard and AMEX however after you've paid they will complain that they pay 25% in merchant fees which is obviously untrue. I was double charged and told to wait 45 days for my refund to go through. I believe this is most likely because they know I only have 30 days to claim a dispute on my credit card. The motel itself is decent, the gentlemen there is also decent, but watch out for the evil witch taking your money! Dispute in process... Signed a very unhappy lady

Will NEVER stay here again. Just had a very aggressive employee speak to me in a way I would never speak to a paying customer. In town for a very well known festival and was visiting with band members after hours. Tried to keep noise to a minimum but it wasn't enough. Never happened in any other hotel/motel...welcome to Penticton. Basically f&&&& you, thanks for your business. We'll make sure we let the Jazz Festival know how welcome you made us feel. Will never stay here again!
