Admittedly I was nervous visiting after reading the negative reviews. I purchase their excellent coffee beans online and wanted to experience it in person. My daughter and I were treated cheerfully and promptly and the coffee drink was better than all others I have purchased on this trip from the mainland. I will continue to be a customer from near and afar. Thank you!

As tourists used to the likes of Starbucks, Bows was out of the ordinary for us as the menu is classic and minimalistic, without the additives we are used to. However, customer service was excellent—they talked to us about what we liked and helped us curate a drink to our tastes, and they were very informative. Our coffees were delicious, as well. If we are ever back in town, we will return!

Love to see a business standing on the right side of humanity!! Super friendly staff, clean and cute atmosphere, they roast their own beans! And the Zataar scone is SO good!!!! ✌🏻🖤💚❤️

Poor Customer Service!!! The espresso was decent and I’m hoping to pull some incredible shots when I get home with the 4 pounds of beans I purchased. The negative energy and aloof attitude displayed by the female barista on Friday Dec. 17 was unacceptable. I understand covid is challenging people in many ways but it shouldn’t preclude the ability to be cordial and provide a basic level of customer service. There is also no shortage of ethical, quality roasters around, with exceptional staff and incredible single origin and blended roasts, so I won’t be recommending nor returning to Bows & Arrows anytime soon. I will also unfortunately be reminded of my negative experience when I’m grinding and pulling shots from these brands over the next few weeks. Update: Hathaway blend is nice and it dialled in easily but it will take a number of outstanding ristretto cortados to wash off the barista’s bad attitude.

Bows and Arrows is an excellent spot for coffee. The space is beautiful—airy, filled with natural light, and plants. But they do more than make great coffee—they bring attention to important issues and put their money where their mouth is by taking action to create a better world. Their commitment to justice, caring for those most vulnerable in a time when businesses feel pressured to maintain the status quo, is truly admirable. I love bows :)

As a bonus, this business is run by a team of warm, thoughtful and community-engaged folks, with deep knowledge of the people and places involved in every step of making their coffee. One of the best roasters in BC. I love grabbing a coffee and maybe a pastry when I stock up on beans. (Limited food options but if you can grab a cheesy pretzel that's a real winner) Some brew gear and reading material for sale as well. Some street parking nearby. Sometimes they put stools out front, other times it's just take your coffee and walk to the nearby Selkirk trestle or pop a seat on the curb. One of my fave spots for coffee in Victoria.
