"Pick up a wrap at Box Lunch - they do a lobster wrap instead of a lobster roll. Go to your beach of choice and eat your lunch."

Google
I'm not a huge fan of lobster (forgive me), but the lobster roll here was outrageously delicious. The best one I've had (and I've had quite a few b/c my family is into them, and they have me try them every time to convince me of how good lobster is). The Paul Revere was also quite good and easy to eat while driving since it was a wrap. Reasonably priced, very tasty, a quick -- couldn't ask for much more!

Google
We always stop at Box Lunch when we have the chance, and it never disappoints. Consistently great - highly recommend the Priscilla Alden.

Asked for double meat when I ordered the whaler. He charged me for double meat but I did not receive the double meat. Very disappointed. The owner needs to tell the people preparing the sandwiches to add double meat if he is going to charge for it. If I paid with a card I'd call and ask for the difference to be refunded. But I paid cash and I don't feel like driving all the way back over there. 33 bucks for two sandwiches. He also had me waiting longer than usual. I saw him serve sandwiches to several other people who arrived and ordered after me. Not cool to rip off your customers and have them standing around your store waiting like an idiot. Do better next time.

Box Lunch Truro: My family’s go to place! Box Lunch is the kind of place that is your solid always reliable good food place. Their signature Rollwiches—made with soft, fresh pita bread are delicious. My favorite is the BLT but everyone in my family gets something different and loves it. Whether you go for the lobster brioche or the veggie melt, each bite tastes like it was crafted with care and Cape Cod sunshine. A secret is they have the best breakfast around. The vibe? Super laid-back, with friendly staff who make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. Outdoor seating adds to the coastal charm, especially on breezy spring mornings. And if you're keto or vegetarian, you're in luck—they’ve got thoughtful options and will tailor to your diet. It’s not just a sandwich shop—it’s a tradition. My family loves it !

I dined here twice during my recent Memorial Day weekend stay in Truro. I chose this spot mainly because they allow outdoor seating, which was perfect for me and my two dogs. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. The service was fine, but the food was a big disappointment. On the first day, we ordered two different egg dishes, and both came out undercooked—the yolks were runny and unappetizing. The next morning, I decided to try the French toast, which turned out to be just plain white bread with a light sprinkle of cinnamon. It didn’t seem like it had been dipped in any egg batter, looked pale, and tasted exactly like… slice of bread with oil and cinnamon. To top it off, the coffee was one of the worst I’ve had—lukewarm and watery with barely any flavor. Sadly, I won’t be returning. The setting is great for dog owners, but the food and coffee just don’t meet even basic expectations.

Google
Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Box Lunch Truro was disappointing on so many levels that I feel compelled to warn others. First, I found blonde hair in my food, not once, but multiple strands. Absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, I specifically ordered the John Alden sandwich without onions, and it still came loaded with onions. I also ordered a double lobster roll, which I was charged for, but what I received was clearly a regular portion, nothing "double" about it. The worst part of it all? The owner’s behavior. She is incredibly rude, not only to customers but shockingly disrespectful to her own staff. I witnessed her speaking to employees in an aggressive and demeaning manner, which made the whole atmosphere extremely uncomfortable. Honestly, that alone was enough to make me not want to return. I didn’t even feel comfortable complaining about the hair in my food because of how hostile the environment was. I feel genuinely sorry for the employees who have to deal with her on a daily basis. To top it off, the bathroom was out of order, which is unacceptable for a food establishment. And for what they charge? It’s ridiculously overpriced for the quality and service you get. There are several other places in the area with better food, better service, and far more respectful management. Despite the unpleasant experience with the owner, I want to mention that the employees were polite and professional. They seemed to be doing their best under difficult circumstances, and I appreciated their efforts to make my experience as pleasant as possible, despite the overall issues with the management. Another thing I couldn’t ignore was the owner’s attitude toward certain customers. I noticed that when she was at the register and the customers appeared to be part of the LGBTQ+ community or were clearly not American, she had a tendency to roll her eyes and act visibly dismissive. It was subtle, but consistent enough to be noticeable, and completely unprofessional. No one should feel unwelcome or judged based on who they are or where they’re from. I do not support businesses that mistreat their staff or serve unsanitary food. I won’t be going back—and I suggest you don’t either.

Google
Absolutely delicious 😋 I started with their Fabulous “John Alden!” It’s like Thanksgiving Day All in a tasty wrap! But, the Best part is the Staff!! Super friendly and very hard workers!! Thank you for feeding us with Love!!!

Google
6oz lobster roll worth every penny, got it at 10:30 am in March, would love to come back in the summer

Yelp
Great sandwiches and service. I generally go for the wraps. If you are here off season, get the pot pies!

Yelp
Sandwiches are ok. But extremely rude service from the guy behind the counter. The other locations are much better.

Yelp
Boss is always present and runs a smooth & tight ship. Super clean pleasant sandwich shop with a nice menu. Lobster egg avocado wrap (heavy on the egg had to take alot off), still great. The (Big Daddy) Lobster Roll here is the real deal, fresh sweet fat chunks. Jaws wrap -rare lean roast beef thinly sliced, with horseradish, very tasty. Place is a bit of a local secret. Drive past the cars (crazy lot, entrance is wild when the shops are busy) park behind the trees if you like some peace of mind, picnic tables are clean and shaded! Reliably fast service, a top notch lunch. No restrooms. Dogs ok! A second newer location on Commercial St we have not visited is no doubt a comfortable indoor alternative to the fast food scene of Provincetown.

Yelp
Visiting the Cape for the first time and needed a place to grab a quick breakfast and sandwiches to take with us to the beach. The breakfast sandwich's were awesome and we can't wait to have our lunch. We will definitely come back!
google avatar

Brad P.

Yelp
Fast, friendly, and delicious service! Breakfast is also served (please try the avocado toast!). I enjoy the frequent diner/coffee cards good for a free lunch or coffee that fill up pretty quickly when you go as often as we do!

Yelp
Box Lunch is a real Truro Treasure! Frank and Julie are wonderful people who are an asset to the community they serve. I will stop in at least once a week for a breakfast wrap which is always served hot and fast. Their prices are reasonable, the food tastes great and I always enjoy catching up on the local happenings. The hot soups, daily lunch specials and the baked goods are fantastic, especially the brownies. Stop by on your way to the beach, you will be happy you did!

Yelp
Owner is very customer services focus, service and sandwiches are the best around I would highly recommend them

Karen K.

Yelp
This place has had for years the best freshly made sandwiches, always delivered by the cheerful, unflappable owner with good humor. That wonderfully fortunate situation continues--I am so glad.

L H.

Yelp
Great freshly made wraps and yummy soups! They are open all year and in the winter have daily homemade meals that are outstanding.

Karen

Yelp
Amazing customer service. Food was exceptional we got the lobster brioche and the BLT w/ avocado. additional seating outside, very clean and music, and overall ambiance just gives you a nostalgic vibe.

Charlene R.

Yelp
Yummy food both times we were there during our visit to the Cape. Nice people. Definitely will visit again.

Yelp
Food is always good. Service is always tops! Perfect place for a breakfast or lunch wrap!

Yelp
Found this place on yelp and thought I'd try it out for Lunch. The food was fresh and not your average sandwich shop. Because of the great service came here for breakfast and that didn't disappoint either. The service was excellent, and the individual at the counter was professional and friendly. There are outside picnic tables but no restrooms in the restaurant. Definitely coming back here. Gave it 4 stars since there was no bathroom.

Yelp
Very cool joint, lots of great choices for seafood lover and vegetarian alike, People are super nice, place is neat. Got the veggie melt, pretty good, next time I will spring for some thing more adventurous. Desserts and beverages looked good.
google avatar

Jacqui P.

Yelp
This location pales in comparison to PTown in every way, but especially in service. Overall, the food was still good quality. Probably wouldn't specifically choose this location again.

Christopher W.

Yelp
This is one of the few places open in off season in Truro. They only serve wraps, no other bread options. It the menu is pretty varied, and service is great. They may have connectivity issues, so bring cash as well as a card. Recommend.
google avatar

Beth-Ann G.

Yelp
Great service and breakfast food. We sat outside in the sun. Had coffee, sprout and egg wrap with home fries. Friends had bulky roll sandwiches. Perfect!!

Yelp
A far cry from the Box Lunch I've enjoyed in the past. I stopped in and ordered a Monument and John Alden wraps. We received our order, and after reaching our destination, we preceded to open our orders. I looked fine until I actually examined the wrap after tasting and having a mouth full of Romaine lettuce. Barely two slices of thin cheese, and I mean thin. Almost no Turkey or Ham, which was one slice of each. Total ripoff for a $12 wrap with barely any meat in it. The other wrap wasn't much better. The Truro location is officially off my list.

Jeff B.

Yelp
I am posting a follow review from previous years. Food was good. Service was good. I recommend eating here.
google avatar

Naomi K.

Yelp
A hidden gem for plated breakfast. Truro doesn't have a shortage of breakfast sandwiches and wraps, but Box Lunch has a nice selection of eggs, french toast, etc. Just what I was looking for - nothing that tries too hard, just good, clean food at a reasonable price.

Karin T.

Yelp
My son brought home Rueben sandwiches from Box Lunch Truro the other day and these were hands down the best I have ever eaten. This sandwich took me 2 sittings to finish. The corned beef was perfect and very generous, the rest of the ingredients were just right . If the other menus items are as good as this, you can not go wrong eating here. 5 star sandwich!
google avatar

Krystin H.

Yelp
A little hideaway with good sandwiches! It's very small and tucked away but I thought it was worth it. The sandwiches were good, the staff were fast and friendly, and the outdoor seating was picnic-y but not crowded. People complain about prices but we're literally on Cape in the height of summer ‍ I thought it was worth it.

Yelp
Lobster roll and breakfast wraps were absolutely amazing! Service was fast and friendly! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot!

Tony N.

Yelp
Great selection of sandwiches, perfect to pack for lunch on the beach for adults and kids. Found this place by chance on my first trip to the Cape a few years ago and enjoy returning when on vacation here. Jaws (roast beef, horseradish +) is my favorite. Good soup and breakfast sandwiches too. If you enjoy finding a great local non-chain deli or sandwich shop in your travels like I do, stop in here.
google avatar

Genevieve S.

Yelp
This place is disgusting . They have no bathrooms to wash your hands. Employees and patrons are expected to eat and serve food with dirty hands. So gross
google avatar

Joy L.

Yelp
The reviews for this place was what made me want to go here and pick up lunch for a day at the beach. I ordered a tuna wrap and a Turkey wrap for my honey. When we got to the beach and opened our wraps... we quickly realized it was more like a roll up. Lol. I guess it made sense since the total was around $20. I was expecting an actual wrap. Oh well.

Yelp
We were driving around the outer Cape the other day and looking for a quick lunch, nothing really big. We opened up the Yelp app and Box Lunch in Truro popped right up. It's a takeout joint with a few seats at the front window. It looks like they're open for breakfast as well and I wouldn't mind coming back and trying some other breakfast options. We both opted for soup, I had the pea soup and my partner had the clam chowder. My pea soup was very thick and satisfying with pieces of smoky ham in it. It was very good. My partner enjoyed his clam chowder but wishes it was a little thicker. This is a great place to check out if you're driving around the outer cape.

Michael J.

Yelp
Simple but easy with many choices and very tasty. Friendly service and perfect on your way to the beach or hiking our many trails.

Donald G.

Yelp
Excellent food, big portions, friendly staff and not overpriced. You know this is your go to place when you see so many local contractors parked there to get their breakfast and lunch

The P.

Yelp
They have really good food. They also have different specials everyday, and also freshly baked goods. I love there brownies and a raspberry pastry's!
google avatar

Anna F.

Yelp
Wonderful, friendly, service. We shared a fruit cup- with fresh watermelon and melon, the peanut butter cup brownie, and aloha cookie (with chocolate chips and macadamia nuts). It was all delicious.
google avatar

Paula W.

Yelp
Back in the day, this was the absolute best. This trip I decided to revisit the ole Box Lunch. No box to be seen. My husband asked me what's the big deal and was greatly disappointed by my hype....but I was thinking about Box Lunch from the past.

Stan B.

Yelp
Good food, good service and a beacon of light in the off-season all rolled into one. Roll-ups turn ordinary sandwiches into a fun experience. Try the Egg McNuttin for breakfast or the John Alden or Roy Rogers for lunch.
google avatar

Jo A.

Yelp
Sandwiches were tasty and ingredients were fresh. The staff was also kind. I loved being able to sit outside and enjoy our food in their picnic tables area.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
We stopped here to grab a quick lunch. Overpriced. Not great quality food and the guy behind the counter was not kind or friendly at all. Truly disappointing.

remy p.

Yelp
Got sandwiches to-go to eat at the beach. They were really good! Service was good and quick, no complaints.

Yelp
Stopped here on my way out of Provincetown since I was starving and I saw the sign for this place at the correct time. I just ordered a lobster roll, which was just ok. The lobster was mostly claw meat and shredded unidentifiably pieces, would have preferred to see more chunky tail meat. It was a bit overly mayo'ed for my taste and needed a tiny bit more sauce. Roll and veggies were fine.
google avatar

Colleen N.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and it was spot on-fantastic (4 stars), but the lobster roll was just ok. They have a half pound option, which of course I ordered. The lobster wasn't in super identifiable chunks. I did see some obvious claws, but a lot of it was sort of shredded. There was also, in my opinion, too much mayo. They serve their sandwiches on a pita/flat bread wrap, which tasted fine, but a lot of the sandwich fell out the whole in the bottom. I'm glad I was eating it back at my house and not at the beach, where I might have lost precious lobster meat.

Yelp
We have been staying nearby for the last few years, and Box Lunch has been our go-to for a quick breakfast and or lunches to have on the beach. We've always enjoyed the food. On our last stop at the end of our vacation this past August, we stopped in for breakfast sandwiches, and I ordered home fries to go with it. Whoo Hoo! Those taters were spicy hot. Way too much for my taste buds at start the sirens cause it's a five-alarm fire! After eating the sandwich to put out the fire, I popped back into the restaurant and asked the gal at the register who had just arrived if I could speak with the manager or owner. As it turns out, she was right there and asked how she could help. I told her that the home fries were way too spicy, and I wanted to suggest that they label them on the board as such. I was not looking for free food or a refund. I just wanted to suggest that they give folks a heads up on the spicy stuff! She promptly apologized and explained that the person who prepped the food loved spices and may have gone overboard that morning. Julie, if I recall her name correctly, apologized again and made sure we left happy and feeling like she listened and cared about our experience with her business. We will be back.

Shawn J.

Yelp
Nice spot to stop in for a quick bite to eat. Breakfast was very good. Had the Egg Macnutten. Good amount of what appeared to be local resident traffic. Thinking it is a local favorite. Everyone in my party enjoyed it.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Ask for prices upfront for the lobster rolls, we asked for them to be warm instead of cold. 3 lobster rolls and 3 cups of clam chowder was $148.00. Outrageous. Was told there would be an up charge for warm vs cold, shame on me for not asking what the up charge was, but shame on this business for gouging. Go up the road to Captains Choice, great food at a fair price.
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
We went there on the way from Provincetown back to Boston. The food was good. They have some items I would have never thought of putting together, like roast beef and cream cheese. They did not have a public restroom, which made it difficult to visit with kids in the car. We may or mY not have watered some trees in the area. I can neither confirm nor deny.

Jake A.

Yelp
Just to begin, we were greeted by a man with pit stains down to his hips. He gave us no time to read the menu and rushed us and even refused to let us purchase chicken cutlets. Service was awful also watched the same man ring out his sweat into our sandwiches. Food hit.
google avatar

Chrissy M.

Yelp
The best sandwich roll I've ever had no joke! The wrap is so fresh it's gotta be made in house! Shoot. Should'a asked. I ordered the Porky's goes Hawaiian (all the names are quirky fun) and it was crazy good. Way inexpensive, filling and whatever sauce they make and slather on just about all their roll ups is freakin amazing! Giving 5 stars cuz the food was fresh and tasty with a ton of options no matter vegan, carne, veg ect. Super clean, and for Cape Cod way budget friendly! Went 4x's in one week!

Collin L.

Yelp
Pretty good, small place and very popular among the locals. The owner was very nice and the food was amazing! Best lobster rolls. Sort of expensive but with the amazing food and service that is expected. Box Lunch 10/10. Thank you

Karin H.

Yelp
A favorite of the locals, with exceptionally hard-working staff (it gets really busy in there!) and really yummy and creative options. We are regulars here and we have never, ever been disappointed. I love trying different things every time - but the gilded lobster remains a true favorite. Gluten free wraps are fantastic, especially with heated sandwich options. They take such care to get it right. I'd love to keep this place a secret for the locals but I also want to let these folks know how much we appreciate them by offering a well-deserved 5-star review!
google avatar

Neal L.

Yelp
Decent food but the server was a little on he rude side small place but plenty of outdoor seating

Nathaniel F.

Yelp
The sandwich's they make are really tasty They are predominately roll ups They are made to order and quickly served The service is friendly

Amanda K.

Yelp
Best lobster roll I've ever had! The perfect amount of mayo, plenty of lobster meat, and a toasted buttery bun.
