Very nice brunch place. Their tea selection is very tasty. Waitresses are very sweet. And we got our food very fast. My friend ordered the Kim’s tacos, spicy and crunchy chicken. She loved it. And I ordered the Princess Jasmine pancake.

Nice spot for a meal in Amsterdam. Casual and easy. Good food and service. We walked up and had a 10 minute wait for party of 6. Food was tasty with a euro difference, perfect for stodgy Americans. Soft drinks were local and interesting! Service was good Atmosphere eclectic and fun Highly recommend for casual fun dining

Box Sociaal is very sweet and adorable little breakfast spot. They have delicious foods! Cozy indoor seating area but if you’re visiting on a nice day there is some outside as well. We love coming here every time with friends and family. The staff is always so attentive and kind. Chai latte is so great. And their food, I can not choose just one. ALL delicious honestly… I love that I can add whatever I wish to add up like sweet pancakes and then bacons or halloumi. Sweet n’ Salty! Be creative! Definitely a must check out spot!

Really nice place to eat, with some tasty dishes on the menu. I had the Kim tacos and my wife had the chicken parmy. Both were first class, tender and full of flavour. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food came to the table quickly and there was a pleasant atmosphere.

It’s a nice choice if you are around that area and want to grab a nice brunch or lunch. Wouldn’t say the food is super amazing but it’s pleasing and not bad, the vibe is nice in the restaurant, pet friendly. As an Asian person, I would say the spicy fry chicken tender is bit too chewy and bit lack of spicy, it is mainly sweet. Personally would prefer to be more salty and more spicy, so it will be having a stronger contrast with the sweet pancake.(personal preference) but if you like sweet food, it would be amazing

We find this on google map randomly and it was soooo goood! It is Aussie-inspired cafe, and you can definitely feel that through their house blend. The coffee was sooo good, it was a fruity blend which is so goood with rich aroma. Also loved their full ranged brunch options, it was a hard time picking the one I want because everything looks so good! All the food was so freshly made and the portions were so big as well.

It's always good here, consistently for years. While I'm not the biggest fan of their coffee (hard to please Aussie 🙄) their food is always bang on. Have only ever been for brunch, which is rightfully served for most of the day. Stay lekker mates.

We arrived with no reservation but they seated us upstairs. We could view downstairs and see what everyone was ordering and people watch outside. The service was excellent , the waitress had to climb the step spiral stairs and enjoyed waiting on us always smiling and so helpful. The chicken was crispy and delish , the fries were sooo crunchy! Everything including the pancakes were excellent. We recommend the Rose lemonade . Ciao

Great breakfast options and cozy ambiance. There are so many more menu unique items and drinks I would want to try if I go back like the prawn bagel and biscoff espresso martini.

E verything tasted so fresh. I had the chicken tacos with kimchi slaw and my husband had the krater egg sandwich. It was all so yummy. The staff was awesome and the iced coffees hit the spot. Highly recommend. Get a reservation bc this spot fills up quick!

Very creative menu, ranging from pancakes to spicy chicken and kimchi - and none of it is "basic". The breakfast sandwich was very good, although the ketchup was too sweet in my opinion. Kind of overpowered the flavor of the meat. Service was excellent. There were plenty of servers and supporting bussers. The setting is a little tight, but I suppose not by European standards. Very bright, decorated well. If you're in the area looking for brunch, definitely worth a visit.

You really cannot go wrong with this place! They have a fair selection to choose from whether you're feeling sweet or savory. The staff is also amazing and so nice! They all had such upbeat energy. The place is clean and open with tables upstairs as well. They are typically busy during peak brunch hours. I would also highly recommend also getting their juice of the day. It is so fresh and well balanced.

I don't know if it's the millennial in me or because I'm in my 30s (or a combination of both), but I love doing brunch. How can you say no to daydrinking and good eats? Box Sociaal serves brunch all day which is great for those of us who like to start the day late, but thanks to our jetlag we were able to make it early in the morning. My wife and I ordered The Parmy and The Sweet Hot Chick with a couple of Bloody Oath Sambal Marys for a little boozy brunch action. The Parmy isn't exactly something I'd considered "brunch," but that doesn't matter because it was so good! Very thick cut of perfectly cooked chicken with broiled gooey cheese and zesty marinara made for a very satisfying and delicious bite every time. The greens/salad was a little bitter though, wish it had just another teaspoon of dressing. The Sweet Hot Chick was probably my favorite between the two. You can't beat the classic mix of a syrupy waffle/pancake bite with a bite of fried chicken. The pancake could be a little more moist, but still an awesome dish. Unfortunately we didn't make it inside since we wanted to dine outside, but the service was great and the food was delicious. This is a great spot for my fellow brunch enjoyers, especially if you want a place that offers unique dishes!

I found this on the Louis Vuitton Amsterdam guide. It's pretty far from central I took the metro to get here and then walked a bit such a pretty walk. They are very busy it's a popular place but they got the food out quickly. I loved the options they have. They have house made kombucha you can see the jars of it at the bar lol. The only thing was the bread wasn't crispy and I wish it had been they were too busy I felt bad asking to toast it more. Lovely place great hospitality and food. Highly recommend. Get a reservation!

The place is very cute and it had a lot of natural light making it an energizing place to catch up with friends over brunch. The cappuccino was delicious, and the meal was very nice as well. Proportions were good and tasty. It was a little overpriced but overall a good experience. Service was fast too.

Super friendly staffs (owner = Australian, staff = mix of different countries)!! Great environment for breakfast, brunch and grabbing a drink or bite. We were very happy with the dishes we ordered: Shack attack, egg Benedict with Salmon and the 3 drinks: Latte, matcha latte and hot chocolate~

I was so happy that this place was able to accommodate a large party without a reservation. The service was great and the fried chicken appetizer was spicy and flavorful. For my main I ordered the braised beef cheek and it was very tender and tasty. Not a single person in our party of 12 had a meal they disliked. Cheers!

A fun evening with family. Everything we ate was enjoyable. Would definitely go there again if I'm ever back in Amsterdam.

The cocktails are creative and delicious. Don't miss the stroopwafel martini or the bacon and eggs, which features bourbon and lemon. A meal here is an experience that you won't soon forget.

Started by two young Aussie entrepreneurs in March, this is their dream come true of creating a really cool place to hang out, in Amsterdam. We absolutely loved it and would come here everyday, if we could. In fact most people that were in here for dinner last night were repeat customers and, it was nice to see in such a brand new place. The place is small with about 40 seats and the layout is really nice. There is seating downstairs and up. There is a big sharing table in the middle and also seats across the bar and windows. The menu is short but had some nice Aussie and Dutch classics with a twist. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We pretty much arrived around 5pm and stayed till closing, it's that kind of a place :-) The cocktails are great and I had the Rijk Way and tasted the fabulous Stroopwaffel Espresso Martini. The bitterballen with mustard was fabulous and the sardine fish special of the day was also excellent. The twice cooked chips with mayo were to die for :-) The stroopwaffel Waffel was also really nice. The wine list is small but contains all natural wines including a nice Orange wine. There are also some micro brews on tap from Amsterdam and a local roastery coffee. It's a sustainable place and they make their own mayo, ketchup, bernaise, pickled beetroot and dried fruit. All in all a fabulous experience I would repeat any day. Fabulous ambience, fabulous service and great food. Without a doubt one of the coolest and hottest new place in town :-)

Gotta agree with so many of the reviewers, the energy level of the staff here is a wonder to see. They move through the floor with ease and a smile no matter how busy. This is a place run by foodies for foodies, without any attitude at all. They get it, they care about what they put in front of you and how it's presented. That all comes through in the end product. We were fortunate enough to eat dinner and brunch at the Sociaal on our last trip to town. The hostees was nice enough to squeeze us in without reservations for dinner our first night in town. Chicken Sandwich was outstanding, frites were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The fish special was interestingly prepared and perfectly cooked. Special guest beer was a Gose which was right on for the late summer season. We made reservations for brunch later in the week, and it was absolutely outstanding! The Amsterdam weather doesn't come any nicer than it did that day, and we were fortunate that a sidewalk table opened up for us. The Eggs Benny did not disappoint! The buttermilk muffin is expansive and fully enough to sop up anything that makes it to that level. There was a surprising and inventive schmear of homemade sauerkraut between the bacon and the muffin that really set this plate off. The eggs were the classic deep orange yolk that makes me regret the sad state of US eggs. Perfectly cooked and topped with a spry tangy sauce and fresh chives. However, the winner by a large margin was the pancake. It was to sum it up a "Summer Fruit Pancake Explosion". Each bite was something different. The fruit was perfectly ripe, the pistachio pesto was inventive, unexpected, and was the perfect foil to the sweetness of the berries. Coffee was top notch in a town known for top notch lattes. Our thanks to everyone at Box Sociaal for rolling out the red carpet for us and for showing us a great time. Everyone's a Mate there, confirmed!

the service at this place is wonderful. I was visiting from New York and was able to get a last-minute reservation, the ambiance was super cool and all the food I tried was amazing. I had the benedict and LOVED it.

What an awesome food find! Food is totally delicious and the entire staff are a bunch of high energy individuals who work together to make sure you are well taken care of. This place can get busy! On our second visit I had the Eggs Bennie with smoked salmon. Everything was cooked to perfection and I didn't leave a bite! Their cocktails are also deliciously made. Perfect for brunch. I think we also got the last slice of their carrot cake loaf and I have to admit it was the best I'd had in a long time. Be sure and check them out when you're in Amsterdam!

I visited Box Sociaal during my Amsterdam stay for a breakfast. The food was incredible the best shakshouka i had. The service was great.

Food was delicious although it took a bit longer to get out. I got the stroopwaffel which was great, but a bit on the smaller side (size wise), and my friend got one of the egg dishes with GF bread. She also loved her dish and said the GF bread tasted great! Would probably be back!

This was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed their brunch. I had the eggs Benedict with pork belly which was outstanding. I loved it. I also had a brunch cocktail which added to the experience. Next time I'm in Amsterdam I will definitely come back here.

BEST FOODS AND VIBES EVER. We were staying in the area with a friend and ate here for brunch and dinner several times during our visit. Everything on the menu is super tasty. Owners Yhudi and Alex are lighthearted welcoming. Seems to have a loyal, local following.We are from California and have high foodie standards. BOX SOCIAL nailed it.

The kombucha is awesome. The people are amazing and the clean, semi industrial decor is a tasteful blend of refinement and rustic charm. I had the shakshuka. It was great, and I'd be hard pressed to pick between it and the last one it had in Jerusalem. I'm in the area two more days and will likely have breakfast here again!

Europe Down Under Bites & Flights Passionately What Is In A Box Randomly happened upon this newly opened corner restaurant/bar because of, wait for it, its typeface. Opened by folks who 'are all mates' from down under, the heart and passion behind what they serve does not need to be explained. Natural wines, truly craft beers, curiously named and meticulously prepared bites make for a perfect stop on any stroll.

Stumbled upon this place while cruising on bikes. Was on a trip with another friend and we both strolled in around noon. Great little space wasn't too many people for lunch on weekday but I could see this place getting busy during a weekend or at night. The inside layout looked cool as you'll see in some reviews here. Ordered their bloody mary which was excellent and a Banh Mi which was also great. My friend ordered the the club sandwich which looked big and had a huge piece of chicken in it. He loved it. The whole menu looked good and the drink selection too, if I knew about this place earlier on our trip would have come in again! Would definitely recommend

I really like the vibe here. Friendly staff and smiling faces and nice cava/bubbles.... tasty apps like squid, and my personal fave the KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN BITES with KIMCHI SLAW, and Mac and cheese balls. I want to go back and try more food! A welcoming place from the minute you walk in.

Great find while visiting Amsterdam. Nice, chill interior. Super friendly and helpful staff. The food was amazing! I had the after hours club, and my friend got the beef cheeks. I can't drink alcohol, but my friend said her drinks were amazing. I'd recommend this gem for a great date night or a meal to catch up with a friend.

Delicious food, fairly low prices. The place has a nice atmosphere, but bad acoustics makes it hard to hear each other . The cocktails are homemade, creative and cheap though a little too watery. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood, the beef cheeks was great and the chocolate fondant delicious!

Delicious inventive dishes using a global pallet of flavors.My dish, with the slightly cheesy name of snack attack or something like that, with guacamole added to the toast, was excellent. Especially paired with a nice touch beer on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The table service is prompt and very friendly.

Such a cute place! The staff all speak really good English. We were served waters immediately upon sitting down with an extra glass bottle for re-fills, which was nice! The lattes were delicious, and we both really enjoyed our food and the cute environment. I had the chilli crab croissant, which was amazing, and my boyfriend had the vegetarian breakfast sandwich item, which was good as well! Definitely recommend as a nice little brunch spot.

We tried this place for lunch while in Amsterdam. Many different options, for breakfast and lunch. Everything on the menu looked good!! The eggs benny with the snow crab on top was to die for definitely recommend if you're looking for fresh food- all made in their kitchen!

Food was delicious but the management seemed lacking. Our order was somehow lost so then our starters arrived after our meals.

Came for a long brunch (try the Shak Attack Shakshuka!!!) and stayed for a stroopwafel espresso martini - wow!!! :o
