My dad and I were in Nyack for the afternoon and stopped by this cute little donut shop for a coffee break. It was cozy inside with a couple of tables and they also had seating outside on the porch. We each got a donut and warm drink: - Vanilla Glazed Donut ($2.50+) - Cinnamon Sugar Donut ($2.50+) - Coffee ($3+) - Hot Tea ($3.50+) The donuts were between $2.50 - $4, and they were good, not overly sweet. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend you give it a try.

A quaint shop serving up donuts, coffee, & etc 👍 We do come here often as it’s situated on a quiet street with outdoor seating. The shop can use some improvements in my opinion. It has potential for so much more… PROS 1) nice selection of donuts 2) good coffee & espresso 3) outdoor seating 4) bike racks 5) water refill station CONS 1) small interior 2) slow service with long line 3) no price listed for donuts. Need to ask. Why? Can’t understand the logic here 4) NEED PRICE TRANSPARENCY 5) only 1 bathroom

Boxer Donut is a charming, small coffee shop located just off Main Street that packs a big punch in quality and flavor. Despite its modest size, this spot stands out for its excellent lattes and freshly made donuts. The coffee is rich and carefully crafted, with a smooth texture that makes each latte a delight—perfect for anyone who appreciates a well-made cup of coffee. Equally, the donuts crafted on-site offer a unique twist, reflecting the care and creativity behind every treat. The ambiance inside Boxer Donut is relaxed and inviting, making it an ideal destination whether you’re looking for a quiet moment to enjoy your coffee or a friendly meeting spot. With its convenient location near Main Street, the coffee shop is an accessible gem for local residents and visitors alike. The efficient service further enhances the overall experience.

Google
The best donuts I have ever tried .It takes us 30-40 minutes drive from New Jersey to get there, but it is so worth it. We never crave for any kind of donuts except Boxer Donuts. My favorite is maple glaze, but try different kinds, they are all delicious.

Got an iced peanut butter cup latte. Tasted good enough. The young lady behind the counter was nice and friendly. Space is small and cozy. Didn’t get the chance to try the donut but for sure next time.

Google
Donuts were awesome, very light and fluffy. Toppings weren’t too sweet or overpowering. 10/10

Google
I really did not enjoy my time here. It was a small intimate space and I just felt so uncomfortable while being here. We stopped in for a coffee for my bf and also each grabbed a donut. The donut selections was pretty minimal for a place with donut in the name. I got the bananas foster because I had never seen this flavor before. Honestly it was so flavorless and I really didn’t like it. My bf got the maple bar and coffee and said they were pretty good. I wouldn’t make it a point to come back.

Google
This place is a hidden gem/slice of heaven. The pastries are made fresh daily and are light and really perfectly balanced. They come with great flavors that you don't commonly find like cardamom. It was very hard to decide but I went with a pistachio option for pastry/doughnut. I also ordered a cappuccino and added one of their cafe-made flavors: s'mores. They offer others but this was especially good and again, not overly sweet. They really got it right. Dean and Co are very friendly & courteous. If you're close by, make this a part of your morning routine!

Yelp
One of Nyack's brightest gems! I'm a big fan of all their old fashioned donuts and the almond biscotti are some of the best I've had anywhere. Monthly donut specials are usually a little bit more adventurous than your average donut -- and the Fritters on Fridays are AMAZING. Great spot for espresso and coffee too... Serving up Stumptown so you know it's good! Boxer is a great place to meet up with friends, get some tasty coffee, snack on some sweets, and soak up a good vibe. But word of warning -- if it's the weekend and the weather's great you may be waiting in line behind a throng of cyclists that rode up from the city. Grab your coffee early to avoid the rush!

Yelp
I had just one night in Nyack and the morning of checkout I went for a walk around downtown. I happened upon this place as it was one of the only coffee shops open before 8am on a Sunday. The place is tiny with a handful of tables. I had the old fashioned marble donut and hot chai latte. Both were great. Also, the guy behind the register was nice and helpful. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to Nyack but if I do, I'll definitely stop back in.

Yelp
Love love love this donut shop! I always stop by when I am in the area, they have some amazing donuts and coffee. I love the variety of donuts, it's always a surprise and I get to try something new. Their new summer drinks are out and it all taste like a dream! I can't wait to try more. The service is amazing and I love how accommodating this place is. Cute seating and outdoor seating as well!

Erika P.

Yelp
This place is really cozy and cute but I wasn't a fan of their donuts or matcha. They had a special which was a strawberry matcha latte but the matcha was just so grainy that I couldn't finish it. The donut was decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to get another one. Everyone who worked there was really nice tho so that's a plus.

Daniel E.

Yelp
Nice decor Friendly service Parking Overly priced beyond comprehension. $13.44 for 4 donuts. Terrible, and I mean terrible donuts. You can find better donuts in a Dunkin' dumpster. 1/2 a star was pushing it.

Adrian C.

Yelp
They're killing it with amazing selection of small batch donuts and the best espresso. Very friendly service and if there's a line, it's worth the wait!

Gillian J.

Yelp
Had to knock this down a star. Maybe just an off day? So it's were a little stale and my latte was, well, meh. Not hot, lukewarm and didn't taste especially good. Weak. Such a cute place but....will prob try another in the area next time.

Yelp
We love Boxer. It's true, the donuts are expensive, but they are so delicious, it's ridiculous. We've been here a dozen or so times, and I'm always surprised and impressed. One of their daily specials actually changed what I keep on my table: a mango-filled donut sprinkled with tajin? YES. And now a shaker of Tajin is right there with our set of Salt-N-Peppa shakers. Things I thought I didn't like--e.g., Boston cream--were some of the best I'd ever tasted. It's a small shop, it seems like they pay a reasonable wage, the coffee is ethically sourced, and their paper products are responsible choices. And we will keep going here.

Ramona R.

Yelp
I'm a coffee snob, and I loved my iced latte from here. So much so that my family and I came back twice in one day. Scones and half old fashioned half chocolate was the best b

Yelp
Finally made a trip to Nyack for a food tour! Came in on a Saturday afternoon when it was still fairly busy. I ordered an old fashioned donut and an oat milk latte. Definitely will be returning to try one of their breakfast sandwiches/other donut flavors!

Grace L.

Yelp
Passed by on a Monday afternoon after a long bike ride. Only a few people there which was great - who enjoys waiting in line? Scarfed three donuts down. Uh-mayzing. I love yeasty donuts and the ones I got hit the spot. The mixed old fashioned was good too. 10/10 Would bike 30+ miles for donuts again.

Krystal B.

Yelp
Highly recommend visiting this cute donut shop in Nyack if you are in town! We order different types of donut and all of them were so good! Special thanks to this bakery for keeping vegans in mind with their amazing vegan donut options.

Allen T.

Yelp
This was the second donut place that I stopped at on my bike ride from NYC. By this time I was struggling to standup and I got another salted/savory donut in hopes to alleviate the cramping symptoms in my legs. This is a super small donut shop with one bench outside. They have a little bike rack outside and also a water refilling station. Overall donuts were mid. Stars are for the bike friendly location.

Pamela J.

Yelp
I nearly didn't stop because I did not want to be tempted to eat donuts but I'm glad I did. The vegan one was very moist and the cake on the matcha tea filled one ridiculously amazing and delectable. Cute little spot with plenty of seating both inside and out. Very friendly staff.

Aly E.

Yelp
Randomly writing this review, but I have been here twice. For background I am vegan and took a shot in the dark after seeing vegan options on the yelp. My favourite type of place is where I can get a legit latte, and a delicious vegan treat to pair. This place checked that box nicely!! Both times I went here they had a different variety of apple cider donuts for their vegan option. (One with chai frosting, and the other was with cinnamon frosting) Both were amazing + the lattes were made very nicely... the staff informed me their pumpkin spice syrup was vegan, it was very good. The next time I just ordered a regular latte with almond milk, that was good as well but the milk foam definitely had a lot of bubbles and was more reminiscent to cappuccino foam. Still good though. Thanks for vegan options, hope to see more in the future!!

Latrice S.

Yelp
My go to donut shop when I am in the area. With their large variety of unique flavored donuts, everyone in the family will find something that fulfills their taste buds! They have great coffee and with their new location, they have more indoor seating!!! Great local coffee and freshly made donut shop!

Meera P.

Yelp
This review is solely for their donut. The worst strawberry donut I have ever had in my life. The coffee isn't bad just has a weird taste but the donut was so nasty which was a let down.

Pedro D.

Yelp
I'm glad they're still open and serving, albeit take out only. Coffee is great, I especially like the cold brew. Cookies are wrapped in plastic, so if you buy some to go, it's simple and easy to carry.

Anika L.

Yelp
Friendly staff... and a very busy spot But unfortunately their main item aka the donut is mediocre... they seems like they are over kneaded Very chewy ... They had good flavor but without good texture what is purpose of a donut then ... Too bad :/

Claudia B.

Yelp
I missed my morning coffee from the deli. Came here before heading to the city. The reviews were good and it's in one of my go to hang out towns. Meagan, was apparently running the store by herself and the were practicing covid. The shop had an aromatic feel. Everything was freshly made on the premises. I would tell a lie that I was taken by the blueberry lavender. They had old fashioned donuts - out my goodness, so good and authentic. The drip coffee was delicious and unique. The only thing I would say is I wish the coffee stayed hot longer.

Annette C.

Yelp
Have to say for a specialty coffee and donut shop they sure do need to get a better coffee blend. Coffee is very watered down! No flavor at all. Tried the toasted coconut donut which was good . Hell to the NO for coffee many other better option. Sorry

Yelp
I decided to try Boxer Donut & Espresso bar today on a recommendation. As soon as I walked in, I really enjoyed the atmosphere! It is a perfect set up if you are grabbing something to go, or if you intend to sit and enjoy your coffee break, even with friends.. there's room inside and out! When I mentioned that it was my first time visiting, I was warmly welcomed, and received excellent and patient customer service as I picked out a full assorted dozen to share with my coworkers (they were LOVED by everyone!!) I also decided to try a dirty chai latte, my go to coffee shop drink. Whatever is in their house made chai.. definitely the ingredients for the best I've had in a very long time! On my way in, I spoke to someone leaving who recommended the stuffed bagel. It was the perfect bite to go with my chai, and kept me well sustained for some time! I will definitely be back, and I would recommend anyone looking for a good donut to visit as well

Renee R.

Yelp
The staff is super cool. Homeboy who brewed up our drinks was a cap and his mom is a cancer so already my morning was off to a good start! ( that's me n my Hubby's signs) They make heir own almond milk and it was really good. They use stumptown coffee which is great coffee. Now Time to talk about the pastries a.k.a. the donuts. My husband wanted the Apple cider doughnut and it was OK may have been better if it was warm. We took home a strawberry sprinkle doughnut to bring to our six-year-old for after school and he ate a thing so quick which meant it was probably really good. And I ordered a pumpkin cheesecake muffin which was on point it was so good I wish I had another one right now as I'm writing this.

Jessica M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick pastry and delicious coffee on the way to work or to jump start your day, look no further than Boxer Donut. Friendly staff and low key vibes also a plus

Brian D.

Yelp
Great staff, great donuts and a very comfortable place. Anybody zipping by Nyack should stop here.

Conscience C.

Yelp
Unfortunately small things that matter are no longer focused on, such as the classic heart shaped splash of foam that tops a Cortado. Seems like they no longer require the staff to perfect this skill. This is what made Boxer special and before that Gypsy. It's sad when establishments let standards drop.

Lori F.

Yelp
Trying to support small businesses. Picked up a dozen for my work buds. Donuts + tip ran about $28. Nice assortment of fall flavors - maple bacon + pumpkin filled seemed to be the winner amongst cohorts. Also tried the cappuccino which was beyond perfect for my 7am visit. At this time there's walk up window service and order ahead. They offer contactless delivery to your car as well. This place vibes high!

Nora A.

Yelp
Was welcomed with probably the cheerful good morning ever and smile. Friendly staff. I was in a bit of a hurry so I only got a donut. The sweet corn caramel donut caught my eye. I was informed that I had made an excellent choice. This was not a lie. Not too sweet caramel glazed. The sweet corn filling was really good. Creamy and not sweet. Best $3.50 spent for breakfast.

Jessica L.

Yelp
@boxerdonut is a no frills, solid donut shop. They just make simple delicious donuts. They aren't fancy (but everyone defines fancy differently and to their liking), or ginormous or expensive. They range from $1.75 to $3.50 - the most expensive donut is their seasonal filled donut. . We got a total of 14 donuts, and it was less than $30... I was shocked at the price.. there's definitely something for everyone... . I personally like the old fashioned ones ($2.50 each)... I like the cake like texture.. it retains the moisture, and little goes a long way... . Their regular donuts are also very good, chewy dough and light... . My bf goes bike riding on the weekends with his friends... and whenever they ride in Jersey, on the 9W, they would stop by @boxerdonut ... not just him and his friends, but many other bikers as well... he would always tell me what donut he ate and how good it was. I can only envy since I am not a good bike rider, so I cannot join him... and I'm not mad about it either... . Anyhoot, since we were off, he decided to take me to check it out... surprisingly, he has never been inside the donut shop, on the weekends, it's window/counter service only.. not sure when I'll be back so he decided to get one of each donut that they still had available. . They are moving across the street to a bigger location... so if you're in the area or a biker and, check them out... .

JP P.

Yelp
The staff is awesome! Super friendly and chatty it makes the experience that much better. The espresso is great and they use pumpkin purée in their lattes; that's a bonus for me! We got a half dozen donuts; not sure if it was an off day or not but they were not over the top or something I'd go back for. The flavors were flat and the yeast seemed to be a bit tough like it didn't rest or had been overworked. I can say the dulce de leche filling in one of the donuts was superb! I will give them another try because I love donuts and I really want this adorable place to be one of my go to spots!

L E.

Yelp
Gave this place another try today. So hungry for a good donut around the area. I'm sorry to say that I continue to be disappointed. Got the Mixed and Vanilla Old-Fashioned. Old-Fashioned donuts are supposed to be traditional non-yeast cake-style donuts that are glazed. These were soft (not cake style), parts were not covered with glaze. The vanilla was next to tasteless. The Mixed was a little better. Still very disappointed. Think the vanilla glazed old-fashioned at Shoprite is much much better.

Stewanna M.

Yelp
I loved all the donuts except the glazed donut. The glaze is dry and nothing special. The maple bacon glaze is pretty good and not too sweet. The old fashion was everything soooo good. My kids got the pink sprinkles and they said it was good. Get the old fashion you want regret or forget it!!!

Yelp
N/A with stars. Covid times. Went on a Saturday. Valentines weekend. 3pm. Hardly any donuts were available minus two kinds. The place closes at 5pm. I was disappointed because no one met us at the door. The front door is unlocked but a table is placed in front of it. Covid times so I'm assuming they don't want people inside. But the lady behind the counter didn't interact with us. After we first opened the door to find a table blocking the entrance (Fire Hazard). We hung outside trying to figure out if they were closed and then after five mins in the cold we open the door and the lady still didn't acknowledge us. So I felt uncomfortable and confused. My fiancé addressed the lady to get her attention and we asked how we go about ordering donuts? Are you open? Do we order from the door? Cons- we felt uncomfortable. We had to ask if they were open since the lady wasn't acknowledging us. And we found out they had hardly any donuts options due to lack of amount. Maybe with covid times they make a certain amount and that's that? I read reviews here. I was stoked to go. Planned it out on my Valentines date day to purchase a box of variety donuts to bring home. But was disappointed with lack of public relations and no donuts.

Phil C.

Yelp
I am rooting for this place to improve. I've had their donuts three times and they've never hit. There is just not enough flavor on the dough itself. The different varieties can't save the donut it's built on.

Art C.

Yelp
Sticky good This place is a block off Main St so I had not seen it while wandering around, but a Yelp search for donuts led me right to it. I was looking for a little something and a coffee and Gypsy's delivered. I stepped in to find a helpful person behind a counter. It is a small place, no real seating inside except for a comfortable looking corner that was occupied and a few stools. They had some donuts on display but rather than working this out myself, I simply asked what were the most popular types. He came up with a Salted Caramel and a Black & White. That sounded good, and it was good. I plopped myself on a bench outside and started with the Salted Caramel, sticky good with caramel with black salt. This was take a bite, lick my fingers, take another bite good. I followed that with the more traditional Black & White, vanilla and chocolate frosting dividing the donut top. I also got a regular coffee, which was fine. While the inside of Gypsy's was not appealing to me, the donuts were. I enjoyed my little indulgence and continued with my wandering.

Melly F.

Yelp
The BEST donuts. Their Cinnamon rolls? Are even better. I wish I could have them every single day. Love that they have organic non-dairy options for coffee

Patricia S.

Yelp
I happened to stop in on my way to the Hudsonlink, and I am so glad I did. Now whenever I am in Nyack, I make a point to stop by. They have delicious donuts-their spongy lightness is amazing, and they are not overly sweet. Love the Boston Creme especially, because they know how to do custard too.

Karen S.

Yelp
Delicious donuts and coffee. Interesting varieties. Cozy atmosphere, good service. All you could want from a donut shop!

Justyna B.

Yelp
Early bird gets the worm over here!! Trust me. Come here early before all the donuts are gone (because they will be). The donuts taste so incredibly fresh in the morning. The vegan chocolate donut was amazing and I'm not even vegan. The perfect amount of chocolatey-ness. I would have to say my favorite is the coconut donut. I had that 24 hours later and obviously it became stale but it was STILL SO GOOD. The inside is very tiny but such an awesome look to it. I also love that it's not on the Main Street of Nyack. It's the perfect little hidden gem :-)

Annette M.

Yelp
Great tasting, fresh donuts! Dare I say better thanDough donuts. I came by late during the day around 5pm and only a few left. I had the banana cream pie donut and salty Caramel. The banana cream donut was so fresh and the cream was really light, had great flavor and not too sweet. So good! I highly recommend tot hose who love bananas. The salty caramel was just as good. Again fresh. Soft donuts with just the right amount of caramel glaze and pinch of sea salt. In. On parison to Dough's, all I tasted was too much sea salt. If you're in the area heck it out. The guy working that day was super nice. The interior reminded me of a kitchen place in the NYC, without the overpriced. Nyack is an ice place to visit, stroll, grab some eats and enjoy a view of the water.

Alessandra C.

Yelp
I waned to give this place more than two stars, I really did, however I am just not capable of doing so. I bought SIX donuts from them yesterday out of their selection of about 10 donuts and it's so sad because I can't say that I liked even one of them. I am so disappointed because all I wanted was a warm, soft, tasty and different type of donut than the basics at dunkin. I found this place though yelp and saw the pictures and names of their unique flavored donuts and was immediately intrigued. But to my dismay they flavor names did not match the flavor itself. Bland, dry, and almost stale tasting, I ended up spitting most of them out! To make it worse it took me 20 minutes to find parking in this god forsaken area and the donuts didn't even make up for my wasted gas and miles. MAYBE their coffee is great and maybe their savory menu choices are better but for a place with the name donuts in the title you'd think their donuts would be the star and they just weren't. The 6 flavors I ordered were salted caramel, bourbon blueberry basil, chocolate cake, cinnamon sugar, cardamom, and maple bacon. The salted caramel was so salty and had no caramel flavor and the donut was hard as rock, the blueberry basil bourbon was soggy and wet with no flavor, it was as if they dipped a donut in water, just all around not good, the chocolate cake was like putting a cup of peanut butter in your mouth and trying to talk, hard and cardboard like, the cinnamon sugar I had hope but nope, not even that one made it to even decent.f Even the donut itself which usually has a nice cinnamon or fall like flavor just tasted like bread, the cardamom which looked like a powdered sugar donut tasted like baby powder on a flavorless donut, and the maple bacon was just gross I took one bite and spit it out. I feel terrible sitting writing reviews like this, but honestly, I wasted 15 dollars and I don't want other people making that same mistake when they can get better quality FRESHER tastier donuts elsewhere.

Jessica T.

Yelp
I can't believe that this place stays in business. Staff is rude, it takes 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee on a slow day. Honestly their coffee taste like mud. You can get 99 cents coffee from a gas station that would taste 100X better their coffee, minus the staff's arrogant attitude. I wanted to give this place another chance as a local customer. Quickly realized it was a big mistake. Took one sip and threw out the mud water she made for me. Never again.

Dave E.

Yelp
The quality of this place has improved so much since they moved. I don't know what changed but the whole atmosphere and the quality of everything has improved, and they have way better donut options now. The only thing I don't like is the creepy devil sign telling me to have a donut. Every time I see that thing I skip the donut for karma reasons, no idea why they want to put those bad vibes up there like that, but hey it's their place. Best donuts for 20 miles. Outstanding quality.

PT G.

Yelp
Super CUTE place to grab a yummy treat. Great customer service and super nice ambiance. The food was so good - I have a cinnamon doughnut with homemade icecream and it was incredible! My girlfriend and I also got mulled cider and it was very tasty. I will be visiting again!

Rosemary F.

Yelp
First time here with my sister on her birthday. We had the green tea Matcha chai latte the sausage croissant sandwich and to go we got the chai donut, the Matcha green tea filling doughnut, and the maple bacon donut. The green tea was good, The sandwich was tasty the biscuit was sauce and it was made with cheddar cheese. The Matcha donut was kind of lacking in flavor but soft and good the chai donut was my favorite, so good. The maple bacon was OK. We met the owner and he such an awesome dude he even let us try a sample of a new donut. I love the inside look very hipster and cool with a super cool staff. If I am in that area again I will definitely stop by

Nicole M.

Yelp
I ordered 4 dozen donuts for my daughters bday party. These might possibly be the best donuts that I ever had. We thought we would have extra but they were so delicious that most people had 2!! First time ordering but will definitely be back!

Kevin C.

Yelp
Hop onto the donut craze as the donut is the new cupcake. Gypsy is a creative donut shop that brings the village of Nyack some culinary expansion. I love the idea and the list of creative donuts that they offer but the execution just doesn't do it. Famous for their bacon maple donut the donut just seemed way too sweet and heavy to the point of being dry. Cake donuts are supposed to be moist and soft and this just doesn't deliver. Love the idea and the service and amenities were great even offering pets water and bike parking access with water outside for cyclists but the baking needs a bit more work.

James V.

Yelp
I hoped for the best thing ever . I wanted the best thing ever . They just missed it . Coffee= great. They offer so many types ; as you'll see in my photos . Chemex , press , drip, nitro etc . We had their breakfast sandwich which was a homemade biscuit , egg, cheese , and your choice of meat. The sandwich was absolutely fantastic . The biscuit was buttery and the egg and sausage were perfect . Coffee: I had the nitro which was super smooth and creamy . My wife had the iced caramel latte which is she really enjoyed . Donuts : they all look phenomenal as you'll see in the pictures . Flavor it spot on. However for me, the dough is too heavy. I would prefer a lighter donut with the excellent flavors they had and I think that would make the perfect donut .
