Boyle Heights. 5 stars. I wish that would be the beginning and end of my review but..
Growing up in Boyle Heights was tough. Gangs, violence, cops, and everything you see and hear on the news. Not a bad place at all! This neighborhood has awesome restaurants, amazing public transportation, great art/graffiti, great history, and the best people in LA county. If you're from out of town stay vigilant because you can get lost here at night in this section of the city. The night life is alive. Plan your visits..
A lot of connecting freeways here to get you going in the neighborhood to enjoy. Minutes driving to the heart of DTLA, walking distance to Metro rail or bus, and everything is connected in safe distance! Amazing people who are hard working and always staying busy.
Gangs have calmed down a lot, cops are always patrolling the streets, and art/graffiti is everywhere, amazing stuff! (Yay!!). Overall great vicinity to get street tacos, awesome pictures for Yelp, and of course to see and hear a very alive community!
Boyle Heights.. my hometown. Amazing, beautiful, and hard working people. Everytime I visit I feel safe. Represent! Let's get tacos!!
