Absolutely amazing food! Everything at BRI was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I love the food here, it's a blend of classic Americana with an Eastern European twist. The staff are like family and are welcoming and courteous. Daily features and plenty of variety. When I walked in here the first time I was pleasantly surprised to see the ample seating and the huge pizza oven. Have a seat at the pizza bar to watch some masters at their craft.

Came in late ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza w/ bread sticks and fries the guys in back were nice enough to drop me some fries even though they were just closing friers and grill. Food was excellent fries fluffy & crispy, pizza loaded with toppings, and great homemade bread sticks. And the waitress Celia was awesome. 10/10 definitely coming back when I got time for a few beers.

Right on the river, the pizza & fish were awesome! I highly recommend the meat pizza and fish & chips. The drinks were made strong, which is hard to find. The kids liked their meals.

Popular place! Excellent food! They're Hawaiian, Pizza was excellent. On a second visit, I tried the Rocky Mountain burger. And it was the best burger I've eaten in a long time.

I have lived in Boyne City for about 9 months and, though I do not eat out much, I ate there for the first time tonight. After some more eating experiences there, I will be able to comment or broadly on the food, but the chicken kabobs with the grilled vegetables were delicious! The chicken was so juicy and had such a good whole chicken taste. The bacon wrapped around the chicken was a very good combination of crisp on the outermost part and still retaining too. The vegetables were fresh and nice large juicy chunks. Honestly, my favorite part of the experience was that I just kept meeting different staff members and they were really friendly and a fun bunch too! I met Randi, JT, Matthew, Stephen, Cary, and Cindy. A couple of those were servers who were not even mine, a couple were cooks, I don't know - I just felt like I was part of the crew in terms of the camaraderie. I think that it will become a place that I go regularly. I could see that with some of the regulars who were there, that staff interacted with them like they were part of the family. I have enjoyed food to varying degrees at a few different restaurants here in Boyne City, but this one for sure felt the most like the small town, hometown place.

Rustic restaurant with great food. We had the fried shrimp, they were large and lightly breaded. The roasted vegetables were smoky and seasoned well. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Recently restored. Soft benches, solid tables, rustic ceiling. Beautiful views of Boyne River and park beyond that. Two separate bar tops. Excellent food. A little pricy but good quality and quantity. Many TV screens to watch.

I preferred their baked chicken wings and they were phenomenal! I got the traditional with a honey mustard dip, just scrumptious. Always great service there as well if you go to dine in. Look for "meat platter" and read the description. My 2 brothers and I split it and it was even better than the picture makes it look! We even had enough for leftovers. Definitely delicious and a great value

I was impressed with the BRI tonight. It was a busy Friday night but the service was pleasant and did a nice job. Food was above average - had the fish tacos on the appetizer menu for dinner- and some fries - yum! Others in our group had pizzas and gave two thumbs up. Really in Boyne, this is truly a locals place, more so than the Pub or Taproom, who are tourist first places. BRI has good vibes and is well run!

After a long day near the lake we were ready to relax so decided to try this new to us spot for a take away pizza. We ordered after arriving and the server was pleasant and helpful. The inside wasn't busy but we had arrived at an off time (after lunch but not yet dinner). They have a pizza special for take-away so we were in luck! It is a typical bar/pub atmosphere but seemed really pleasant and if you did fine in they had some patio seats along the River which would be nice to try. We waited a short time and our pizza came out rather quickly. They are wood oven done so we were excited to try it! It didn't disappoint and we were delighted with the chew and texture! It was just right for two people and had plenty of toppings. We had asked for one to be left off, but I just picked it off and gave it to my husband (not s fan of ham). Overall though it was a good pizza and loved the chew of the crust. We would for sure go back and try it again. The bartender as well was friendly and so next time might sit for drinks with our pizza!

The worst service we have ever exp'd in a long time! Waited ONE hour & not 1 single mgr addressed the situation. The waitress expressed frustration herself by communicating "we push the kitchen ourselves." I asked to speak to mgmt. when we witnessed the table next to us that came in 20 min's after we were seated were served tacos & appetizers & again not one person from this establishment communicated a thing to us! My husband & I finally stood up & headed towards our server to express that a 1 hour wait time with beyond the realm of normalcy and passed the point of ridiculous!! The most precious thing in life is TIME & this was completely unacceptable! One & done!!

Don't listen to these other reviews. We have been coming to BRI for a while now. Everyone has been really nice from the owner to the servers. They have a nice deck out back on the river. Some things are better than others. My top 3 is the Pizza seriously the best in the area and considered delicious anywhere. The fish & chips. Huge portion and tasty and the wings. Some of the other things I haven't enjoyed as well but it's a big menu for the most part. The only thing that would be great is a special Saturday night special like steak or prime rib. Try it out. It's reasonable and stick with the basics and you should enjoy

My family and I just got into Boyne City and made the mistake of dining at BRI. Three people at our table ordered pizzas and they came out in about 15-20 minutes. Our server then told us that the rest of our food would be right out. About 20-30 minutes goes by and we still didn't have our food. No one came by to update us on when the food would be out or to apologize for the inconvenience. I went up to the bar to check on the situation and saw our server. He told me that the food would be right out. Still no apology or explanation. Finally, the food came out. We ate our meals without any kind of apology or offer of restitution for our inconvenience. Finally we got the bill. No adjustments were made to the bill and there was no acknowledgment of half our table getting food and everyone else waiting 30 extra minutes. Furthermore, 20% gratuity was added to the bill for a large party. I've never seen gratuity added for a party of 7 so I thought it was a little strange considering every restaurant I've worked at adds gratuity for parties of 8 or more. I rarely do this, but since our server didn't acknowledge the issue and disappeared for a half hour, I had planned on tipping 10%. So having to pay for the full meal plus forced gratuity of 20%, I wasn't too happy. On top of that, I noticed that the guest count said 8. Our party had 7 people. I don't know for sure but I suspect the guest count was intentionally changed to 8 so that we would be charged the mandatory gratuity. I went to speak to the manager about the situation. When I went to seek a manager, I was told he wasn't there. He stepped out and would be back in a half hour. A manager left the restaurant at 7:30 on a Friday night. Someone took down my number and told me that the manager would be giving me a call. He never called. Just an awful experience all around. The only plus was that the food was pretty good. No wonder the place was empty. However, there was TONS of employees there just hanging out passing time by being on their phones. That's totally unsanitary. Phones are disgusting and hand hygiene in restaurants is paramount. I highly doubt each employee was washing their hands immediately after putting their phone away. I would seriously avoid this spot.

The service is great. The coconut shrimp is really good, as are the burgers. Skip the Bruschetta - it's terrible. Grilled bread comes soggy, soaked with wet chopped tomato, topped with a little 'shaker' Parmesan. Plain, tasteless, soggy.

Absolutely delicious. Ate there on a Thursday night and returned on Friday night because it was so delicious. Do not miss the Lemon Chicken and the Marsala Chicken. Delicious!!!!

Well let's start with the fact that I never want to hurt an establishment as I understand how difficult it is to run a good restaurant. However this place needs Jon Taffer, here is his contact info. Please call him fast! https://jontaffer.com/contact/ From the completely let's call this person untrained hostess, to the chatty blindfolded bartender and the ‍ that does not read Medium on the order ticket, not that it matters because if you start with questionable meat in the first place, your results will be the same. Burgers were so over cooked we could play hockey with them, and frisbee with the petrified buns. Then there were the 14 French fries which were the horrible once dipped in some kind of cornstarch. They were like warm and wilted. To top it off we paid $17.99 each for these disasters. Now for the bright spot, our over worked server Monica who was here from Croatia working here for the summer, &waiting on the entire restaurant by herself. She had a great attitude and took excellent care of us. Remember I did not want to write this, the responsibility for this review lies with whom ever owns this place which has everything to become successful, probably needs to sell it to someone that knows how to run a restaurant. The very basics in running a good restaurant are missing here. Call Jon Taffer if you are serious about moving forward. I feel bad for Monica, as she was the only person doing her job and others jobs as well.

Great Pizza. Cold Beer. Good Prices! Great Experience. Slightly outside of downtown but not bad walk to restaurant. Been doing craft show there for years and just went in. Will be back for sure on July 3/4 th.

I love everything about this place. It's been all remodeled, the staff is so friendly. And the food is wonderful!!

Dined 2 nights in a row. Pizza one night, burgers the next. Both were incredibly delicious. Recommend BOTH. Our server was fun, upbeat and knowledgeable. Beverages kept full, food arrived hot and fresh. This is a casual, local pub. Relaxed and welcoming. We WILL be back!! P.S. In this current Trump inflation economy, the prices here seemed reasonable.

First time I ever had a burger here. It's pressed meat - dense and not like a traditional burger. Pretty bad. I ate half and brought the rest for the cat. Now, the pizzas are great and the fish is pretty good as well. Just stay away from the burgers.

First night in town, stumbled upon this place for a call ahead pizza and took our food to go. Took advantage of one of the pizza specials, Pizza was decent.

Regarding the food, the pizzas weren't bad, although the bacon as a topping was very soft and fatty. Everything else on the pizzas were fine. The burger was mediocre at best and the fish and chips were just ok. The real problem was the service and communication with the kitchen. The only time we received refills was when a waitress (who wasn't the server for our table) noticed empty cups and offered to fill them. It wasn't until our entire party's food came out that we were told that the corn dogs ordered for the 4 year old at our table were unavailable. We then asked for the kids pepperoni pizza, and 20 minutes later when we had all finished eating we still had no kids pizza and no acknowledgment of where it was at. When our annoyance was voiced at a 4 year old never receiving his meal, the waiter got defensive and said it wasn't his fault because the corn dogs were on the menu. Regardless of whose fault it was, it's unacceptable to not be told your meal is unavailable until after everyone else is already served. Either the service was extremely poor, the kitchen has no communication with the wait staff, or some combination of the two. Overall a very aggravating experience.

We made the mistake of going to BRI. I'm going to keep it short, it pmo so bad . Service took over an hour and other tables that arrived 20 minutes after us got their food before us. IT WAS THE SAME EXACT FOOD. Plus there was 7 people in our party, we were charged 20% gratuity for "8" people. They scammed us out of money, the service was horrible, the food is piles of crap, not nice service, no manager, unhygienic cooks who were ON THEIR PHONE which is very unsanitary. This deserves 0* they are lucky they make us put at least 1*.

Very good food. They have a huge pizza oven that puts out great pizza. The BRI has been in Boyne City a long time. It's current owner(s) has/have done an excellent job of keeping the BRI alive and well with its recent renovation.

stopped in for lunch, had Pizza which was very good, service was good AGAIN - the music was so loud we could not converse sitting next to each other MUSIC SHOULD BE LOW AND BACKGROUND in a restaurant - they treat their restaurant like it's a bar late at night as far as music goes. Customers should be able to easily carry on a conversation when dinning out, impossible at BRI with their music Don't know if we'll go back due to the loud music, does not make for an enjoyable meal IF THEY WOULD EITHER GET RID OF MUSIC OR PLAY LOW BACKGROUND MUSIC it would be a much nicer experience, but 3rd time of loud, annoying music, even though food was good, I can't go more than 2 star.

The service was wonderful and the staff were extremely friendly. However the food was mediocre. I would entirely avoid the biscuits and gravy. No either the biscuit nor the gravy were appealing. The burritos needed more things in it, but other than that it was ok. The breakfast sandwich was the best thing we tried. It is a tiny quaint restaurant where you order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. Everything is help yourself- ketchup, silverware, pop, etc.

Their pizza is so cheesy and delicious. The atmosphere reminded me a lot of the old Cheers tv show, where everyone knew everyone. Very friendly. The waitress was attentive but not hovering. I definitely recommend having lunch here.

This place is the absolute best. No better place to get a pint in Boyne City....especially if Tori is serving it. Dinner menu until like 10pm but serve amazing pizzas until 2am. Would highly recommend checking it out. Lot of TVs and they will always put on whatever you are looking to watch.

That's BRI is back! The food is very good and dependable. Burger and Slim Jim, are excellent. Pizza is the best in the Boyne City area!!

I had dinner with a group of friends here last night. Super attentive waitress. The cheeseburger I ordered was huge. My friends and I shared some appetizers- bacon wrapped figs, mozzarella and pesto dish, truffle fries... yum. And the s'mores pizza was so yummy! Will definitely be back!

Had lunch here yesterday. The burrata appetizer was delicious! More tomatoes with it would be nice. Not sure why it was served with crackers. The pizza was soooo good!

This place hadn't been open for a month so I decided to go. I ordered the fish and chips, the fish was a bit chewy but overall it was good. I also got cheese cubes and they were delicious. When I walked in the place looked older but at the same time new. Our waiter was very nice and he did a great job. Food came out fast and overall it was a good visit.

Everything, food was bad...fish sandwich, hamburger, swat the flies and gnats waitress did not ask how food was, while they sat at bar and looked at their phones. Wedding soup was discussing......all for $60..seriously, do not go here.

We finally got to go there today! OMG! So much better, the food and service were absolutely EXCELLENT! We will be back whenever we are in Boyne.

Where do I start? Two piece fish and chips came out with fish smaller than what we got on the kids plate! Fish batter was soggy, coleslaw was tasteless, steak was undercooked so my dad took it home to microwave it because he wanted to be polite! Fish sandwich had a piece that was broken in half... More than likely taken off of someone's leftovers. They burned a pizza so badly that the restaurant filled with smoke and our kids started to gag. Should've taken that as a queue to leave. I don't write reviews, but this was actually the worst dining experience in the 55 years of eating out that I've ever experienced. Waitress spent more time talking with other waitresses than she did waiting on tables. Also, obviously didn't recognize the un eaten food and offer any kind of compensation even though we expressed our displeasure. Unbelievable! They completely ruined my dad's 90th birthday.

The original Boyne River Inn was a GREAT bar with excellent food. The french fries were spectacular. Golden brown on the outside, creamy on the inside. The burgers (the standard by which a bar is rated) were most excellent. My lunch today, was mediocore at best. The french fries were Gordon Food Service spiced fries. The burger was, well, not very good tasting. I am pretty sure it was not grilled. I can say it was a good size. Quantity does not equal quality. The service was very good and attentive. Because I am really about the food I don't think I will hurry back. The BRI isn't going to make it on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, that is for sure.

The menu is a bit confusing. They have additional menus tucked in to the regular menu, instead of just removing the pages that don't apply to the day. We had seen chicken tenders on the website, but they weren't on the menu in the restaurant. My son's additional menu fell out of the book (only held in at the corners). The host came over to our table and asked us not to remove the paper inserts from the menu. We asked if they had chicken tenders and he said "if they're not on the menu, we don't have them." We asked the waiter if they had a children's menu. They do not. $16.99 for the chicken tender dinner (that's not on their Wednesday menu), for a child. The waiter, though, was AMAZING! He was here from Romania, and super helpful. He said we were able to order the chicken tenders. The margarita pizza, we ordered without tomatoes, and it's ultimately a cheese pizza (not made with fresh mozzarella), just regular cheese. The pizza was very good, could use a bit more char on the bottom, but overall, very good food.

Got sat pretty much right away. Sat in big table in front across from bar. Didn't see a waitress for about 15 min though countless other waitstaff and the manager walked by a lot. My wife's mojito was made with mint that was half black (rotten leaf). Appetizers came after the entrees. Food choices on menu was pretty much pizza and fried food. We were visiting in the area but heard they put a lot of money into improving this place. Sounds like they forgot to upgrade management/staff as that can make all the difference.

We came here while vacationing and it was average food. Orders didn't come out correct and customizations were missing. Shrimp basket was lacking in shrimp but good. Chocolate shake was thick but good. Employees were friendly and the building gave mom and pop vibes.

Went there for dinner with friends. We tried their pizzas and their shrimp. Both were great. Service with a smile and the atmosphere was welcoming. Will definitely go back.

We had a delightful Sunday brunch. The Bloody Mary was beautifully garnished. We shared the corned beef hash half order with 2 eggs. We got a side of multigrain toast. It was plenty for 2. Our waitress, Kaylin was taking care of the whole place. We had to wait a bit for each transition, but she was hustling hard, keeping her sense of humor, making everything worth the wait. The hash was delicious, the potatoes were perfectly crisp. The place is under new ownership. I wish them well and am looking forward to coming back on a warm sunny day to sit in their deck overlooking the river. The decor hasn't been updated, but that never bothers us. We like a well worn look to our Up North experiences. Let the tourists pay for fashionably designed venues with pricey meals and drinks. Our total tab for 2 drinks, a beer back, and a filling breakfast was $23.

Burger and fries were literally perfect, so good. The breakfast is very solid too. The interior could be updated (guys the carpet!!) but the food is spectacular.

Boy this place is not the same! Came here for years and even though it was nothing special at least it had decent options and was edible. Terrible very limited menu. Saddest salad bar ever. Avoid for food. Maybe they only want to be a bar. I hate writing this, but very disappointing on all levels.

Horrible service, under cooked food, terrible management! We've tried eating here several times and every time we walk away disappointed. The owner was in there and we expressed our disappointment and there isn't ever a resolution. We Won't be back

First, the host was less than pleasurable and when I asked for a different open table she essentially advised it wasn't possible. Then, we were greeted by our server with 'welcome to BRI. We're out of meatloaf and ribs.' in a I'm really busy and don't have time for you kind of tone. Alrighty.... Good to meet you and glad we're here. The server/bartender was CLEARLY over worked as there was a constant feeling of being rushed. What really nailed the coffin was the server saying 'I'm going to steal these' referencing the mayonnaise and mustard, when I was halfway finished with my sandwich. She comes back a moment later and asks if there's anything she can get us and I said... Um...mayonnaise? To which she then took them off the other guests table and put them on mine... Confused, I asked if this is the only container of mayonnaise and she provided an answer that essentially meant there is more but I'm not going to go find it. In my opinion, this staff needs serious work...if not a complete dump and rehire--but it all starts at the top. The food overall was ok. Not great... Not bad... Just OK. And there are many other places to get average or better food and much better service in a far nicer environment. I've been to BRI on a number of occasions in years past and as it stands with current management and staff.... We won't be back.

We were up at Boyne Mountain a few weeks ago and stopped in here on a random Monday. It was dead in the town and it was dead in the bar. We didn't eat here, but we were the only people in here with the exception of another couple who came in for one drink. The bartender was very friendly, talkative, and willing to make suggestions for us when we asked about her opinion on a few different things. Definitely a typical "up north" establishment. We took a look at the menu, but had just eaten. The menu isn't all that extensive, but there is a nice variety of options. I can't say that I would be looking to this place as a "must try" for food when I'm in the area as I always find myself having to cut my list down, but I definitely won't hesitate to stop in for a drink or two.

I can't emphasize enough how low-key the decor and service are, and I wouldn't recommend anybody come here for the so-called river view, but for an honest plate of hot food in this part of Michigan, I definitely recommend it. The sauteed fish is tasty and fresh, and the reuben has a surprisingly nice sauerkraut-to-meat ratio. I bet the burgers are good too.

Surprisingly cozy! The place was comfortably packed for the all you can eat Friday Fish Fry! Coleslaw is wonderfully fresh.

We ate here last night. Overall the experience was nice. We were seated outside overlooking the Boyne River. They had nice friendly service and the food we order was very good. The service was a little slow, but I would say the wait was worth it.

A favorite spot for a good family dinner experience for years. New owners this year, but service and food were great. Looking forward to many happy return visits this summer. Good job folks!

Great food here, with a friendly staff. Fridays are packed for the fish fry. Daily specials are usually really good! Love the olive burger, and the BRI grilled cheese!

This is a classic BoYne City watering hole Bar and Grill! Great Burgers, family Friendly, Ribs and White Fish Specials are fantastic! Has an outdoor deck overlooking the Boyne River..we go here all the time for lunch!
