Great place for delicious and budget friendly lunch. Super friendly staff too. All self-serve bar food is $10.9 per lbs, so you can mix and match.

Places like Co-op Downtown are what I miss out on the most living in NYC. The community feel in this place was so strong I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie. I was in here 2 of my 3 days in Bozeman DECIMATING this hot bar littered with locally sourced foods ($10.90 per lb). I tried the tomato bisque soup with a piece of a baguette, organic ground beef, grilled yams, fresh vegetables, organic chicken, etc. I'm a slut for a good tomato bisque and love getting up in some good yams, but who doesn't? I also tried 3 different types of jerky, with the head and shoulders best one being the B Bar Ranch Organic, Grass Fed/Grass Finished Beef Jerky. It was spiritual. I bought an extra pack on the way out to give to my girlfriend but it just didn't make it. It too, was decimated. I would be living in here if I lived in Bozeman. ONE LOVE! Google
It’s a nice oasis of reasonable food and drink on expensive Main Street. Limited but adequate beer and wine options and lots of hot/to go vegetarian and vegan options. Definitely worth a stock up trip early in your stay if you don’t have a rental car to get to Safeway or Walmart! VictorB

Google
The upstairs food court had terrible service and were extremely rude. The employees behind the counter were not friendly. The food tasted old and had so much grease for being organic. Very disappointed and will never eat here again.

Google
LOVE this place. Recommended by my hotel as a great spot for a salad and they were so right. The salad bar has so many fresh and interesting options and great dressings. From my time sitting at an outdoors table, this is the spot on Main Street where EVERYONE comes for a bite. Very busy and a wide range of customers from office workers to students. Also, the service is terrific - very friendly and helpful.

Excellent grocery store. I have been to the Co-op twice and the fruit & veg. were all great. The chicken was great as well.

Google
The woman who cooks the delicious food at the hot bar loves what she does and it shows. We ate at Heist and Feast at night and here every day for lunch.

The staff was friendly and there was some locally sourced food. Great place to grab goodies or a nutritious groceries.

Yelp
Love this place! It's like a tiny Whole Foods but with friendlier staff - we loved the two meals we had here, and found some great picnic items for our road trip. Super welcoming and a great selection, despite its small size. Dining area clean and well kept.

Yelp
We stop in here often on our road trips through Bozeman. The parking is easy on the street or across the way in the lot. They have clean bathrooms. The salad bar is excellent--tons of options for veggies and hot stuff, too. It's like a mini Whole Foods, basically, with mostly self-service.

Yelp
When picked up from the airport and being taken to my hotel, the shuttle driver suggested that we eat at Co-op Downtown as it was delicious and one of the more affordable places to eat in the area. It wasn't bad, it definitely reminded me of the salad bar at a WholeFoods but on a much smaller scale. In addition to being a salad bar, it's also a small market where you can buy a few high end food items. Plenty of seating, the dining area felt a little like a cafeteria or a food hall, pretty spacious. Employees were friendly and eager to answer any questions or recommend items. I also appreciated the extra effort this spot takes to separate compost, landfill, and recycling. Ambiance is very small town coffee shop/small local grocery store, minimalist but inviting and very clean.

Yelp
This local coop in downtown Bozeman is a great stop for fresh locally grown produce prepared in many delicious ways.

Yelp
It's was snowy day. I went into store and want some soup. Great place to grab what you want. Customer service was good. Very family friendly locations. If you are in the area check it out

Yelp
Really yummy selection of food, snacks, & drinks--and their hot & cold bars are deliciousss. I recommend the garlic lovers pasta salad & the chicken pot pie bake. The vibe is very chill & towny, kind of like Bozeman's cafeteria. Love this place.

Yelp
Co-op was billed as a place I can pick up food quickly, have a salad or hot food and not wait. So I walked over and it was all that. It is a self-serve place, with some dry goods, drinks, alcohol and canteen style seating for those who wish to dine on-premises. The shop specializes in healthier and organic food and non-mainstream brands. There are containers of different sizes and one puts food, salad or soup into the size of choice, which will get weighed at the cash with hot food obviously being more expensive than the others. So far, so good. Unfortunately, the food was not good. It was not abysmal, but was not good or great. Admittedly, I was late for lunch and the food in the respective trays may have sat there for a while. If so, that also speaks for itself. They have soups, a salad bar, hot food and refrigerated items and I had a piece of chicken, Korean kimchi and a juice. The food was bland in one case and very salty in another. The kimchi was suspiciously brown and certainly did not taste authentic. The fried cauliflower was fine except there was again too much salt. Prices are average and the dine-in area was relatively clean, but I took my food out. Options include mac and cheese, chicken, beans and so forth.

Yelp
If in a pinch and want a hot bar or salad bar then for 11.99/lb you can mix and match both. Salad bar had the basics and a few extras. I went with 45 mins left before closing and the salad bar was honestly weak after reading all the raving reviews. All the lettuce/spinach options were wilted and dry. I dug deep and found a few pieces of acceptable lettuce for $11.99/lb. Then i just used the last scoop of shredded carrots, and red cabbage as my base. The cukes, tomatoes, cauliflower, red onions, and broccoli were great. The peppers were square cut red and yellow peppers which i thought was odd. No pepperoncinis or cherry peppers were offered but plenty of radishes and what looked like beet strip jerky?? The curry chicken salad had good reviews and no hot bar was open when i was there so i figured id try it. Grabbed a chunk of baguette for an extra 0.35$ and made a lil curry chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad had cartilage in it which is why i legit never order or eat it. The dressing options were rather good with a real thick garlic ranch that was nice. 3 kinds of cheese offered on the bar and various kinds of peeled seeds. The croutons appeared homemade and were seemingly stale, and thats saying something for a crout! I doused this concoction with blue cheese dressing on half and ranch on the other to cover up the wilted lettuce ha. Once the croutons were saturated they were better. No soda in the store which was a bummer but the organic raspberry lemonade was a good substitute. Overall the salad and drink cost me 26$ and i had to do the work of making it with sub par lettuces and running out of other ingredients. Looking back I probably shouldve ordered a salad at a restaurant.

Yelp
Small grocer to get basic foods and pre-made foods. They have a small produce area, but it's mainly a place to get high-end locally made things, and quick bites. They have a good selection of sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. There's a map that shows where they're sourcing all this stuff- it's all really local! I had typed in "grocer" into Yelp, and came in here looking for provisions to go to Yellowstone, and found that this was not the place. It's the place to go for provisions while you're heading out to get provisions elsewhere. It's in the middle of downtown, in a cool old building. They have sweet window displays and chalk lettering to let you know what's going on inside. There's outdoor seating so you can enjoy that ciabatta roll sandwich, or potato soup. They have a hot bar and a salad bar where everything is charged based on weight. The place does sell alcohol- beer and wine, but if you're looking for a 12 pack or more, I'd go elsewhere. These are mostly singles. I suspect that this co-op is affiliated with the one down Main Street.

Yelp
While visiting Bozeman, I stopped here at least 3 different times to pick up some sort of snack or food item. The curry chicken salad and the garlic baguette (I flew back with a loaf), were my staples on this trip!
google avatar

Yelp
Sweet space - some packaged food selection like sandwiches and salads, decent wine and beer selectiono, cool artisanal/local products (ex. cheese, pickles, hot sauce). Lots of tables to sit at and they have a cool system where you flip a card over after you sit so the staff can disinfect before the next person.

Yelp
I really liked there hot bar they had a big selection and the food looked fresh the prices are high but a lot is organic. The baked good are awesome and you can enjoy them in there dining room,

Yelp
Super clean place and a nice selection of different things. They have food ready to go and other options. Great produce selection. They have beer and wine. Good place to check out while in downtown Bozeman.

Yelp
Love eating at the co-op. Great food lots of choices. Both locations are wonderful. I can always get great veggie dishes here
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Super tiny with a limited selection. They do not have any protein drinks. If you're looking for a quick salad bar they've got that. And a hot deli. What did I learn today? This is not a grocery store.
google avatar

Marco M.

Yelp
WOW. Amazing place. Lots of locally sourced foods including a map of where they come from. Built my own sandwich on Ciabatta bread, Roast turkey, Klamath Olives, Garlic Herb Mayo, Mustard + spinach at tomato. Was da bomb!!! Oh & when I paid for my sandwich there was a stunningly beautiful young lady in a green sweater. Was the cherry on top to my experience;) Slide in my DM if you are reading this

Yelp
Slllllllllooooooooowwwwww like a sllllllloooooooootttttthhhhhhh. I don't mean slow because they are busy - slow as if they are competing in a slow contest and are the returning champions determined to win again. And what is with the pretentious attitude of the checker? The food was meh. My drink did come with a free cup and straw - so there was something positive about my visits. Nothing exceptional here.

Yelp
Great place to shop, even better place for breakfast or lunch. Friendly, capable, knowledgeable staff. Sadly I don't live in the area or I would be here every day, buying spices or veggies or coffee. I did buy an amazing shopping bag that looks like it will last me for years.

Emory W.

Yelp
Great place to come and eat lunch if you work downtown. The salad bar is fairly affordable and there's something for everyone

Anne S.

Yelp
So many options! Great sit-down seating. Loved knowing that they food I was buying was wholesome and good.

Yelp
Friendly service, amazing quality. We've been relying on the co-op for essentials during a brief getaway to Bozeman. This downtown location is convenient and well stocked. Tiny cheese selection but great variety within it. Does not disappoint with local and house-made offerings. Plus! Everyone who works here is so nice. They answered our questions about the town and recommended restaurants. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Bozeman.

Rob R.

Yelp
Me and my husband totally enjoy the salads we had for a quick lunch today. Hunt: if you put your salad in one of those to go boxes you actually can push down on the lid and get lots more salad than in a bowl. Will follow up for a hot lunch at some point of my stay here in Bozeman Lots of sexy hot eye candy too. Wow those Bozeman guys are smokin got
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Stopped here for some lunch. The sandwich bar has a bunch of options for vegans. The soup of the day offered two different vegan soups. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. The employees were all very helpful and knowledgeable about the offerings. We had an awesome lunch and I would easily return!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Top notch smoothies and food. I would give my life for a synergy smoothie at any second of the day, tbh; they're to die for. Sandwiches and hot food are fab as well. A little expensive, but all wholesome local food is. Totally worth the price.

Yelp
Co-Op Downtown really outdid themselves today. The food is always, good if not great. Awesome. But everything I got today (11-11) was INSANE. How many thing did I love?! Let me count the ways! Marbala (?) Chicken (with plums) Roasted Button Mushrooms Cauliflower Mash Ratatouille Honey Orange Roasted Beets some chicken stew thing that I can't remember the name of And all of that Dairy-Free, Corn -Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Egg-Free, all the "Frees" I need! Holy smokes, you guys! Can I eat this everyday, all day, all the time?!? My mind has been officially blown. Gourmet? Yes, indeed.
google avatar

Kyle L.

Yelp
Nice vibe, nice selection of prepared foods. I ordered an Italian sandwich for $7.50 and there was one layer of meat on it. Couldn't even taste that it was there. Such a rip off. I asked if this was normal- apparently it is. Not ordering a sandwich here again.

Yelp
The Indian food day which I think is on Thurs is great. Delightful food. Nice selection of stuff in the store but you could go broke here. Thats what you get though going into a yuppie hippie health food store.
google avatar

Blaine B.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. And it seems like many other people do as well, sadly after having to shut down a few co-ops throughout the state this one is clearly going strong. I look forward to the expansion! I would say the daily buffet is probably my favorite aspect of this place, always offers a great variety of healthy and primarily organic sustainable food that keeps me fueled up and healthy!
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Stopped here after yoga class to get a smoothie! A little overpriced at 6.50 for a basic smoothie, but really delicious.

Hg S.

Yelp
was passing through on our way to Yellowstone, was amazed at the selection. lovely store, located right in heart of downtown, was great to be able to buy organic food

Scott G.

Yelp
These Bozeman Coops are worthless. The food they make is terrible and the produce is flavorless. Anything you get from the steam tables is dried out and gross. Oh, and it's all waaaay overpriced.
google avatar

Shelby J.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I've been through Bozeman a couple times (I have to say I love it, it has a soft spot in my heart) but I had never been to the Downtown Co-Op. It's great! And it's cute, because let's be honest... it's on the small side. But that's okay because they pack a lot into that little space! This last time we came through we were on a road trip, relocating from Seattle to Indianapolis (hubs got into Law School at IU). I got us some sandwiches from the deli, a smoothie, some roadtrip snacks and a treat. All were delicious. Thanks for this beautiful little downtown location!
google avatar

Sanghita B.

Yelp
Loved the indian food , also the place is very much like whole foods but not as pricey!

Cameron B.

Yelp
Employees are not knowledgeable! Doesn't matter how nice you are when your running a business communication with staff is essential. The owners here obviously do not believe this. Staff is not educated much about products in their store but they are all flurry friendly. Was able to contact the company before store employees got back to me but I do appreciate their effort!
google avatar

Beth P.

Yelp
Stopped on by with coworkers for lunch this past week. There was a great assortment of indian food in the buffet line - paneer saag, chicken korma, and beef vindaloo. Everything tasted great. Wish my hometown had a Co-op like this by me - would be there everyday!

Emma M.

Yelp
The store takes advantage of the fact that it is really the only type of "whole foods" like grocery in Bozeman. It's just too expensive for people who don't openly have an additional $60 to toss down on maybe 12 items. Even buying a salad weighed that's not even that big can cost $10. I don't know it feels more like a place just looking to make bank instead of bringing prices to something more reasonable.

Yelp
What a cute wonderful, awesome market. Love, love, love this place. This place is awesome because they sell wholesome food and not the junkie crappy stuff at Safeway/Albertson's etc. (insert generic Grocery stores). We got the baked goods there, the PIE was to die for. So buttery and just one of the best pies I've tasted from a grocery store. The strawberry bar baked good that they had was out of this world, definitely could not stop eating it. They had a good selection of chocolate. But definitely get the baked goods there, not too many options of produce so wouldn't go there for that. Otherwise I'm just sad I only was there to visit. There isn't any place here with such great baked goods at such affordable prices.

Yelp
We were Bozeman for 3 days and ended up eating at both the co-op locations. What a treat this place is - I had the veggie bagel and a soup - the food is super delicious, and fresh. There are a lot of options vegetarian and otherwise - so if you are a big group there is something for everyone. They also have things like enchiladas, make your own salad and lots of place to sit. I personally liked the downtown location better. This is a must eat place for me in Bozeman.

Susan T.

Yelp
Awesome sandwiches! Got them two days in a row to take them with us for our picnic lunches. FRESH and delicious rolls and lots of condiments and interesting stuff to put on them.

Nancy L.

Yelp
I love this place, specially for their hot bar and salad bar. I can get exactly as much as a want, choosing from a wide variety of mostly healthy foods.

Doug W.

Yelp
Food was ok, fair prices, so so Big Hype Many other places much better A little high for lunch
google avatar

Jeff J.

Yelp
Frequently visit the coop for lunch as it is just across the street from my office. Their fruit is always fresh and delicious. The only thing keeping me from giving 4 or 5 stars is how pricey some things are.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
We went there for dinner during Taste of Bozeman last week. Awesome hot section and salad bar, good selection of gluten free vegan and local produce and meat. Good prices, great flavor.
google avatar

Pat W.

Yelp
Something for everyone! Huge salad bar with tons of organic items, self serve hot bar, made to order sandwiches, smoothies, artisan bread, great desserts and an excellent grocery selection. Free wi-fi and quick, friendly service.
google avatar

Lan N.

Yelp
Husband really enjoyed the Thai chicken sausage, so we returned. We grabbed a little from the salad bar and a grilled cheese sandwich. He thought his salad bar food was better this time and I got to create my own sandwich. Since their selection included $$ items like brie and ezekiel bread, it ended up being a good value. Little oil was used. Healthy and tasty, so I increased my rating.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I love the lunch menu here! The sandwiches are super fresh and offer lots of flavor. There are a lot of choice with the salad bar, which is awesome! Overall, this place has something for everyone! Great food, service and location.
google avatar

JR J.

Yelp
I stop by for soup and salad. This is the ONLY place I've found in Bozeman with a fresh, appealing salad bar. I wish they had more room to carry more items, but it's good for what it is. Love the variety of soups, too.
