I recently visited BraTenders and had the pleasure of being fitted by Jasmine. The experience was nothing short of amazing. Jasmine didn't use a measuring tape, which initially surprised me, but her expertise was evident. I was shocked to discover that I had been wearing the wrong size bra! The difference in comfort and fit has been incredible. Jasmine took the time to listen to my preferences and guided me toward beautiful bras that suited my needs perfectly. I ended up purchasing five new bras and couldn't be happier. I will return in a few months to continue building my bra wardrobe. I highly recommend BraTenders and Jasmine to anyone looking for a truly personalized experience.

I’ve tried three other times to get fitted and was always given wrong info. How was I supposed to know except nothing ever felt right or looked great. Was told by a broadway seamstress that this place is the secret of all those in the know. She wasn’t wrong. So glad to finally know my chest! I’m plus size btw and they had options in store.

Wow I’m so glad I did Bra Fitting at Bra Tenders. Jasmine was so helpful and kind.I had a hard task to lift and shape my breast and shape my waist for the backless wedding dress. And she found a bodysuit from Ender Legard. Note: I took my wedding dress with me. Also I used the opportunity and asked to find for me a strapless bra. I lost hope that I can find something comfortable for my D cup and kind of low breasts. And she found it for me, perfect, not so tight as those coming from online purchases. I’m really exited about my all purchases here and the fitting process was really smooth. Lots of help, support and understanding. Jasmine paid attention to all my questions. Wow, thank you a lot. Such a relief for my tomorrow wedding.

Normally I don't like to write public reviews, but I think this time I should make an exception. I have social anxiety, and due to this, I was very nervous at the prospect of spending such a long time at a bra fitting, something that I'm not used to as the last bra fitting that I had didn't take more than 10-20 minutes. However, I'm glad that there was no reason for me to be nervous after all, and the experience was even fun! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Crystal gave me a lot of incredibly helpful information during the fitting and this was probably the first time that I got such a thorough fitting! When I heard my correct bra size, I was extremely surprised, and now it makes me wonder just how long have I been wearing bras that were too small for me! I was originally going to buy bras elsewhere, but the bras here were so nice and comfortable that there was no way that I could leave them, so I bought what I could today and plan to buy more in the future! Thank you so much for your wonderful services everyone!

Alex is so considerate and compassionate. Despite I’ve started measuring myself up and trying to find myself the right bra for a few years now, in person trying out is still super important. It’s my very first time getting to wear bras that fully support my breast without choking me. Really, it feels like revelation (or something like that). Even the same brand can make different product fits differently, Abrathatfits calculator tells me I’m between 34DD and 34DDD, and at the end I purchased multiple bra with sizing from 34C/ to 34D/DD. Definitely utilize their in person appointment!!

I went to Bra Tenders NYC looking for help with undergarments for a very fitted a very backless crepe wedding dress. Everyone was so nice and so helpful. I have been so stressed about options for this dress and I now have many options to bring to my next dress fitting. I cannot recommend this place enough.

You MUST do this! For years I have settled for a vanity size bra I thought I liked. Now, I’m in heaven. Alex was so patient and listened to my very request. I never felt pressured in anyway. I was always completely comfortable in every way. I found, well Alex found, a weeks worth of bras I absolutely love. I wore a new one out. My daughter said it was the best thing ever. Jasmine found her several options as well. About an hour after we left, my heart melted when we said, “Mom, my back doesn’t hurt anymore and it is easy to stand up straight!”

It was truly an experience to have a "proper" bra fitting and I highly recommend that you see for yourself. I really liked that I could make an appointment and Alex -- who helped me -- was so knowledgeable. She just took a look at me and brought me the right size (which was WAY off from what I was wearing). I highly recommend! **They will be closing at the end of the month - however, they will reopen as I think it is BraCity in the spring - so look out for them...

I came here when I first moved to NYC as few years ago, begged my mother to come with me (so she could foot the bill since I was fresh out of college and didn't have cash). The store seemed more like a theater costume room, but with a LOT of bras as well as some other shapewear/ lingerie. the experience was FANTASTIC. Both my mother and I were wearing wrong sized bras, I "bought" the cheapest brand there which was expensive (72 dollars), and my mother got a few different ones. This absolutely changed my view on bras (I still find them mostly uncomfortable, but the brand I got there is the same I still buy today(and franl=kly the one that I can easily wear for an extended period of time) as well as the size. ( I was wearing a 36C and the owner who measured me said I needed a 34B). my mother was wearing a 38D and she was told to wear a 34C) (despite the fact she does have a D size, for the to look better, the size was to be a 34C). she also explained a bit about which models would look better for both of us (I learned that demi's would make my girls look bigger, as well as what to avoid to not squish them. We didnt pay a fee (my mom spent a lot) but I would gladly pay again and will - I am scheduling another appointment for next year and will report back. FYI- the brand I use the most today is Chantelle. - PS: the bra I bought is still in use. it was worth every penny.

Very helpful experience both (2) times I've gone to Bra Tenders. The first was several years ago and was for a fitting. I held onto those bras up until my recent fitting this past month...I know thats bad. But in truth the bras held up! And I felt very comfortable with the associates that assisted me. Its an appointment only situation, not a regular retail store so please keep that in mind. During COVID, they expanded their website to support those seeking various items but could not physically go. Bra Tenders sells a wide variety of bras, lingerie and other products that are essentials for those in the entertainment biz. They are conveniently located in Hell's Kitchen near the theater district and several subway lines. The prices are a bit steep but you get a lot of out your purchase. I like to think of it as an investment in self. Also, the $50 appointment fee is waved when you spend $200 or something so I'd ask about that when you go.

Came here after reading through yelp reviews for shapewear in NYC. I'm from california attending a friends wedding and was in desperate need of shapewear for over 3 options! I didn't realize but you have to make an appointment here. It's not a walk in and browse type of place. Luckily, they had a 30 minute opening and were able to accommodate me. I worked with the fit specialist Cristal. She was AMAZING. Very efficient. I showed her pictures of the 4 options I had online and she brought in a few different options in a variety of colors. Right off the bat, I loved the first option! On top of that she taught me some awesome tricks of trade on putting on and taking off shapewear. She also explained the impact of different materials and ribbing when on. I also learned that I was buying the wrong size for years! As Cristal said, I was buying for the butt side instead of the waist. And it truly made such a difference! She also took the time to show me how to use Booby Tape. Yup, you read that right, she showed me how to tape my breasts into place for different types of dresses and cleavage goals. Overall, I walked out with 2 pairs of shapewear and booby tape. Cristal was amazing and I learned so much and walked out with amazing pieces I wouldnt have found on my own!

I recommend making an appointment vs. walking in. I made the mistake of walking in but luckily they were able to see in 20 minutes. I've always shopped at VS or Aerie but the bras do not last long and the straps will start to fall down my arms which were annoying. A lot of people recommended me this place to me. Eddy helped me find the right fit and helped me try on many bras. I was looking for an everyday bra and a strapless one as well. This place is on the pricey side - I spent $71, $65, and $135 on 3 different bras. I've been wearing them for a week now and I can feel a difference. I will go back to try their shape-wears.

I was so happy that BraTenders survived Covid19. I would be lost without those nice ladies who fit me properly and with great respect. I had a great experience yesterday at Bra Tenders. Alex, my bra fit specialist, truly offered expert advice. She recommended a variety of brands (with reasonable prices) and helped me find my real fit--*not at all* the fit I had been wearing for many years! I am thrilled with the results and will be back. The $50 consultation is so worth it. I got that money back because I purchased bras. But it would be worth it even without that. Great!

This was my second time visiting Bra Tenders - I recently changed sizes and needed to be re-fitted. Once again, I had the most amazing experience! I would never get a bra anywhere else and it has been a God send as a plus size woman. My stylist was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and kind. I left with three amazing bras - an every day, a sexy 'going out' bra, and a sports bra for the gym - and they are incredible quality. I could not be happier with my purchase. It also feels amazing to walk in and see mannequins of varying sizes on display. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Cristal is the absolute best. She is truly an expert. I came in to get undergarments for my wedding dress after sizing up my chest and taking a look at a photo of the dress itself, Cristal took a beat, then returned with several different options. Granted, I am not particularly shy when it comes to my body, but either way, Cristal made a great effort to make sure that I felt comfortable, joking around and being personable. (You kind of have to loosen up a bit when your boobs are out and you have a stranger hoisting you into a pair of super hardcore spanx.) The options she presented were all viable and she worked to help me choose the best choice for me and my needs. What's great about the shop is that they have a huge selection and they try to keep things reasonably priced. Bras will always be expensive, but most of what I had to choose from was under $100. That and the whole store doesn't seem to take itself too seriously. They have plenty of bra/boob/underwear related cartoons hanging around the store. And the front of the store has many fun last minute goodies to pick up on your way out. After my wonderful experience with Cristal, I had to return with my mother for her undergarments. Cristal, again, was able to size her up and pin point exactly what the issues with the bra my mother was currently wearing and showed her how to resolve them. She also listened to my mother's concerns and was able to select options for her that fit what she was looking for. I will definitely be back to find every day bras with Cristal as well.

These ladies could not have been more helpful!! Fitting with Vera and an apprentice. Discovered there IS a wireless bra that offers support AND comfort. This was my holy grail!! Got it in 2 colors. Also got a softly molded everyday underwire bra. Additionally found a soft bralette: a unicorn I didn't believe existed for my size. Almost last....a molded strapless bra for just in case and to extend my top choices. After I paid I realized I didn't look at sports bras. Vera was with her next customer, however the manager helped me with my size, selected a few bras to try on, put me in her office and let me try them. Then, when Vera w koas finished with her client, she came in and helped me choose. I got a super comfy sports bra as well. I walked out of there completely uplifted!! I found their prices pretty average and I found their selection expansive. There's no measuring. Additionally I brought a brand new Third Love strapless bra with me to show Vera. She pointed out why it wasn't right for me and found me one that was. An awesome experience; highly recommend! Maybe next time I'll get to look at everything else they sell. Btw, appt is $50, which is refunded if you spend $250. Easy for me, as I was prepared to completely update my bra selection.

Been going here for years, for everything from my basic everyday bras to wedding undergarments, and Cristal never fails to be amazing. We've had short appointments where she uses her magical ability to tell my size & what I'm looking for and I'm in and out with better posture in a heartbeat. We've also had long appointments where she helps me find what I'm looking for and build a new bra wardrobe for the year. All budgets, all occasions and all sizes- Bra tenders is pure magic. Cant recommend them enough.

This has got to be my favorite lingerie place! I am amazed at how they can look at you and be spot-on with your correct size. Vera was amazing. She brought me 5 bras and they were all perfect! I encourage everyone who can go there to, make the appointment. You won't believe how great you'll feel!!

One word: Cristal. I have been going to Cristal exclusively for fittings for over 8 years now. In that time frame, she put me in the right size, has fitted me for daily and activewear, my wedding, and the gain and a loss of 60 lbs. Also in that time frame, I relocated to LA 3 years ago. Even though I now live across the country, I will only see Cristal. Any time I am back in NYC and need to re-up, it's Cristal time! She is a walking encyclopedia of breasts and bras and has a 6th sense of knowing exactly what you need for you to feel your best. Not only does she provide you with the perfect bra and fit, but she also educates you about your breast type, so that you learn about your body and what it needs. Working with her, you'll find comfort in your own skin. She is without a doubt the best in the industry, Bratenders is lucky to have her, and so am I. She has my lifetime loyalty. Thank you for everything Cristal! You're simply the best.

Made the trip from central Pennsylvania just to go here and can happily say I'd do it all over again! It is such a relief to have somebody fitting you that knows what they're doing and is determined to get you into a bra that fits and feels amazing. Eddy was my fit specialist today and she made my experience so much better. She explained some of what she was looking for in the fit so I could understand better, and she told me the type of places I'd need to look for bras in the future. She also told me some places around New York to stop and see while in the area to make the trip even more worth it. I'll be recommending this place to all my friends and family! I'm so happy with my experience and my purchase!

Ordered my lingerie for my wedding dress and they knew EXACTLY what I needed! A little on the pricey side, but worth every penny! They have such a huge range of products in their store. 10/10 would recommend this place to ANY person who needs specialty undergarments for a special event. They also have an adorable office cat.

Uplifting and supporting women? I'm sure they usually do but not yesterday and not me. Just my experience only.I'm an African American actress and was only there to be fitted for a Broadway show. I was initially very happy to be there but as soon as we were in the fitting room the older woman made me feel extremely uncomfortable with her flippant comments . The younger woman seemed to be more sensitive and immediately got that I was put off. Also, in over forty years of being in the industry, I've never had anyone who has to come in contact with my body not warm up their cold hands. It's common courtesy.Once the older woman realized I was offended by her abrupt manner and cold hands she just sort of went through the fitting, and never tried to make things better. Then she made sure I knew about the discount I would receive if I ever come back on my own. Which will not happen.

I've gone to Bra Tenders twice. The first time was to search for a bra to wear under my wedding gown. I made an appointment and met with Marla. We discussed what my dress looked like and she went to find some options. She came back with a few and helped me try them on. I decided on a corset strapless bra and a pair of spanx and went on my way. My first fitting the bra seemed to work well. Once my dress was taken in, the bra no longer worked with the dress, turns out I didn't need one at all, but that's another story. So I called Marla to let her know and luckily I was within the 30 day bridal return policy. They took it back no problem and gave me a credit. So brides, make an appointment to go the same week as your first fitting, so that way you have your second fitting within the 30 day window. My second experience I went to use up the credit. I arrived and Crystal introduced herself to me. What a sweetie! I was looking for an everyday bra, so she checked me out and went on her search. She came back with a couple of options. Got me into each and even had me try on a tank top to see how they looked. I let her know which I liked and she proceeded to bring me lots more options, I must have tried on about 8 bras and I walked away with 3. It is an odd experience, meeting with a fitter and taking off your bra and having the fitter help you into it and adjust you as necessary, but boy does it work! I can't believe how much better I look and feel.

THESE FOLKS ARE DOING GODS WORK. First time in my life I have found what a bra that actually fits me. Every "bra fitting" I've ever done anywhere else, they've clearly given me the wrong size. I have 6 bras at home that I needed to return because nothing fits correctly!!!! I was fed up with constantly having to return stuff so I booked an appt. They work absolute wonders here. I have never felt so comfortable and secure in a bra. Nicolette helped me and was an absolute earth angel. SO patient and kind. Found me an everyday bra, a wireless and a strapless that actually fit. Don't give up hope, just come here and they will change your life.

in less than 5 minutes, I learned that I've been wearing the wrong size for over a decade, and I've had several fittings in the past. This one, was by far, the best and most comprehensive. I left with more lift, separation and less strain on my back. The unexpected bonus was that the better fit made my waist look smaller and improved my posture. Definitely worth the trip!

I was in dire need of getting a bra fitting as I never had a bra that fit right. Bra tenders came up in a google search and my mom and I emailed the night before we wanted to come in to make an appointment. They were fully booked but they squeezed us in because it was the only day we could go, which was SO nice of them. We worked with Lori, the owner. She was so sweet and helpful and found my perfect size and a few different bras that looked great on me. She did the same with my mom. I've never felt so good in a bra!!! I will never go back to anywhere else again for bras. They even keep your information in their system so you can call and order more of your favorite bras when you need more. All of the employees were so friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend going to BraTenders if you need to find your true bra size, or if you need a bra for a certain dress or occasion!!

If you're like me and haven't bought bras in a really long time and want to treat yourself, this is the place to go. You do have to make an appointment, but I was able to make one for the same day. The fitting and sizing was so painless, they don't measure you and yet find the perfect fit! It's kind of incredible. Vera was great, I've seriously never had so much fun shopping for lingere. I couldn't be happier with the bras I ended up buying. 10/10, I'll probably be back to buy some panties soon!

I don't recommend this place at all. They had only 2 bras in my size in stock. When I asked about other options, the store employee said that they're low in my size even though they say they specialize in larger cup sizes. The person fitting me made it seemed liked I was being high maintenance for wanting other bras in my size. I didn't say anything about style or color. All of my commentary was on the fit. She also made it seem like I was supposed to settle for an uncomfortable bra. Disappointed to say the least.

I went to Bra Tenders for the proper undergarments for my son's wedding - wow, did Crystal Gordon amaze me!! She was an expert at sizing me and providing exactly what I needed. Crystal was so professional, and she really knew her stock of options. I left with everything I needed to look my very best. I recommend Bra Tenders and Crystal without any hesitation.

I visited BraTenders and truly had the best bra fitting experience I've ever had - hands down. At BraTenders I was greeted warmly by the team, and Cristal showed me to the private fitting room. She already knew about me from the online questionnaire (two kids, no bras I owned fit me anymore!). I had no confidence but she quickly 'uplifted' me -- in every sense of the word! I walked out with four bras and am a very happy camper. I've been to other bra stores, where they don't make you feel so great. This was the complete opposite. Cristal also taught me how I should be putting on the bra correctly - and using the loosest hooks at the end because over time the bras will stretch and you'll want to tighten over time (who knew?!). It was educational and practical. I love my purchases. Really a unique place. I am excited to come back!

I am so happy with my experience here. This was my first bra fitting and Cristal was an absolute pro. I learned so much about different types of bras and what to look for in terms of fit -- I can't believe I still had so much to learn about bras! I tried on a ton of different styles Cristal selected for me and was given lots of options (which isn't always so easy to come by when you've got a larger chest). I walked out of here with two great bras and I will definitely be back!

What an amazing experience! I've been to Saks, Bloomingdale's, Victoria's Secret and none of them understood how to do a fitting nor had the selection these guys have. Vera was amazing at knowing what I bras I needed for various occasions, sorted out all those types of spanks and undergarments and they fit you for bikinis as well. This is the place to go ladies!

I've read and brought into the notion that most women have no idea of their correct bra size. As a result, I've gotten fitted on several occasions. But the fittings never delivered the promised results--expensive, marginally better fit, but still uncomfortable. My visit to Bra Tenders changed all that. I'd read on Yelp that Cristal is amazing. Accordingly, I set up my same-day appointment to see her. To say that she did not disappoint is a vast understatement. Talk about a godsend! She made me comfortable with her banter and warmth. She teaches, takes her time and offers a vast array of choices. She is a perfectionist in the best sense of the word. I've never thought of myself as buxom, so I would never have guessed that the bra that would fit me best is a 36DD (or D, depending on the make). What threw me off is that my breast are rather wide and my bra choices, based strictly on comfort, were further spreading/flattening the girls out. Not a good look! The right bra brings them together, perks them up, and actually gives me cleavage--with no sacrifice to comfort. What they say about the right bra making you look thinner is a FACT. Who knew?? I could not be more pleased. Whatever my bra needs (and beyond; Cristal even advised on the tee shirts/types of panties I should wear) I will turn to her for expert counsel and beyond-belief customer service!

My experience was amazing. My bras were so old and useless so much so that I assumed that was just the way it was. The woman who helped me was awesome. She helped me find the right size -- I was way off! She picked out bras that make my boobs look awesome. Shockingly so. This is so worth it. I got 4 new bras and they are terrific.

I went to Bra Tenders at the recommendation of Kleinfeld's for my wedding undergarments. The selection was great and I found suitable garments but my experience was poor. My consultant was Cristal and she seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. However, any time I tried to ask a question or express something that I liked or dislike, she became visibly frustrated that I wasn't taking her word as the bra bible. I did not feel comfortable asking questions about options other than what she suggested. UPDATE: After receiving an extremely rude response from the owner of this business, I have edited the star review.

I love Bratenders. My daughter and I have been going annually for about three years. We are both unusual sizes so finding the right bra is incredibly difficult. I learned long ago that bra fittings were an absolute necessity to look and feel right. We both have tried other places for bra fittings but the staff here are the BEST. We missed going last year because of the lockdown in NYC but we were both desperately in need. Was so happy to discover that the team here had in-person appointments available (as well as virtual if you prefer) and unsurprised that the staff were on top of all the appropriate safety protocols. This is a small business that's been hit hard by the pandemic but you'd never know that from the way they rally and pivot. Help a terrific small business and make time for some self care for you and your girls and go straight away. It's a win/win believe me.

This place is the absolute best! I went with my daughter - and we both left with the best fitting bras we've ever owned! She is so knowledgeable, listens to exactly what you're looking for, and makes the entire experience enjoyable. It's like a magic "bra speak-easy" in Hell's Kitchen - highly recommend if you think you can improve your quality of life with a better bra.

I guess people who love this store don't mind being scammed. I've been to every major boutique lingerie store in NYC, but I wanted to try Bra Tenders once I set a date for my wedding. I know my size. I've been fitted professionally and I can fit myself. Despite not NEEDING a fitter I thought it would be a nice experience to make an appointment since it was for a special occasion. Let me just say I would give them FIVE stars if this review was only about the fitting and selections. Cristal was great. Her personality is awesome. She's also honest and knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable right away. As she pulled various items I correctly identified the manufacturers, which she verified. Because I wear a rather unusual bust size I am very familiar with multiple styles and brands. Eighty percent of the time I can identify a DD+ bra from looking at it. I ended up choosing a bustier that I had already planned to purchase directly from the manufacturer. Now I could have gotten this bra at a discount because I had a coupon after visiting a bridal show, instead I decided to make the purchase today because Cristal was so great. I also picked up some shape wear from Rago, which I also correctly identified as Rago has a very distinct look. I didn't ask her about the price because at every other store in NYC the price is the manufacturer's RETAIL price. Once I got to the register I realized each item had a 20% markup, even crazier the original tags were removed and replaced with Bra Tenders tags. WHO DOES THAT? That is false advertising at best, unethical at worst. I mentioned to woman handling the transaction that the bustier does not cost $109, it is actually $79. This is the point where I should have left, we all the know adage about a fool and his money. Instead I showed her the tag and asked her if Bra Tenders make their own bras. She gave an evasive answer along the line of some of them. From their site: "No, we do not custom-make bras, we custom-fit bras." Moving my breasts around is not what I call a custom fit, but whatever. She then rudely asked "Are you going to buy it or not?" As if I was wasting her time. I spent $242 in their store, her attitude was highly unnecessary. Because my wedding is in three weeks I really didn't want to have to start this process over from scratch. I simply do not have the time to run down to Orchard Street for shape wear and still have to place an order for the bustier online. Plus as I mentioned Cristal spent an hour of her time with me, she deserved the sale. She is the only reason I made the purchase. I knew going in that they have a stringent return policy of exchanges only, now I know why. If you need a lot of hand holding and are indecisive go here. If you already know what you want, try another store. There are some great options in Manhattan that do not engage in price gouging. You've been warned.

Let me just preface this by saying, that my tits look amazing right now. A-MAY-ZING. Thank you, Bra Tenders. So last week, out on the subway on my way downtown, I start to feel this sharp stabbing pain under my right breast. What the eff, I ask myself. After a little second-base style self-reconnaissance, I realize that the underwire on my last, favorite, well-worn bra has died and gone to bra heaven. Eff!! And so I find myself making an appointment with the friendly phone girl of Bra Tenders. She asks for my credit card information, which took me aback for a hot minute, but reassured me that I would definitely not be charged unless I missed my appointment (the fittings are free). Okay... a little weird... but I'll roll with it. So I show up to my appointment, which is a feat unto itself, as this was the afternoon of 107 degrees. Anyway, I get into the sweet, sweet, air conditioning and am immediately greeted, offered a cup of water, and told to sit and relax. +1. I like them already. Very quickly, Crystal comes out and takes me into my private room and gets me naked. (Take note, auction bidders; I strip off easily!) An hour and ten minutes later, I leave, $108 poorer, but greatly uplifted (titty joke!). Crystal was great. She was funny, sweet, and very chill, which is a plus when you're about to spend an hour having your titties played with by someone you've just met (minus the soothing effects of alcohol). I loved how she listened to what I was looking for, understood my complaints, and did an awesome job of finding bras to fit my needs. She really tried to stay within my price range (which was hard because my ideal price was "free") and definitely knew her stuff about which bra would suit for what I was looking for. A+. This place was perfect for a fitting for bridal bra-type accessories -- yay! After going to another bra place and being underwhelmed (underwhelmed by their underwires?) I saw how well Bra Tenders was reviewed on Yelp. So I set up an appointment. The regulations are pretty strict with the appointments, as others have pointed out. But you have to be a little regimented when you provide such a high-quality service. My fitter was very friendly and worked with me to identify exactly what products to try on. The fitting room was really spacious and comfortable (though I was a little surprised they didn't close the shades!) The prices were also very reasonable. But again, they come with super strict return policies, so beware! I am so happy I went and I feel like a million bucks in my new stuff. Thanks, Bra Tenders!

I'm not a 42D. I'm a 38E! NO WONDER NOTHING EVER FIT ME RIGHT! I had to wait for a while, but I'm in the service business and I know that appointments don't always run on time, I just had some chocolate and chilled in the waiting area, and read a magazine. I think it was Crystal who waited on me. She asked what I normally wear and made a funny face when I told her and came back with half a dozen bras that felt like someone was holding the girls up for me. the harlem boys' choir started singing when I put these bras on. I easily spent about half of the equivalent of a month's rent on the LES on some really great bras. I look 10 lbs lighter in clothes and have been getting catcalled all week. Apparently the sexy stuff goes fast in large sizes, there were only a couple of really sexy bras, but several moderately sex that I felt were great for every day. I'm getting on the mailing list or whatever they have to notify me. *the only thing I didn't like was the restroom key was attached to a ratty old nude-tone G-string. It was gross. Black wouldn't look so.....dirty, but the nude one was unsavory to even look at or touch.

I'm so mad that I didn't get the name of my fitter because she was the bee's knees. She had gorgeous flaming red hair and made me feel so comfortable. I'm not the kind of girl who likes disrobing in front of strangers, but it's a bra store, so I took a deep breath and went for it. Awesome-sales-woman-of-the-galaxy sized me up with her eyes and returned with a magical bra that turned me into Wonder Woman. I left the store wearing it and I'm never taking it off. I was on a mission to get a corset for my wedding dress. Got that too and she made sure the fit was perfect in every way. I'm a plus-sized gal but they had plenty to choose from. Note, I went in thinking I was a 48C but I'm really a 44DD. Mind. Blown. It's a little pricy but not outrageous considering the quality of the service. Also, nothing at all was pushed on me at all, which I see some other reviewers have mentioned. So so happy with my experience. I will be back, and, as I promised, I will hand wash my new bras with love.

EEK! Brides steer clear!!! One of the worst bra-shopping experiences I've ever had. A woman named Marla was assigned to help me find an undergarment for my wedding gown. I brought in a couple photos of my wedding gown & we discussed my problem areas. Yet she only brought me 2 options that made my problem areas even more problematic? She was condescending and kind of rude, she wasn't helpful and really had no recommendations. I felt terrible after leaving and I would never recommend this place to a soon-to-be-bride. You might leave with an icky feeling....

The first thing I want to address is this: If you are looking for a smooth bra to go under a thin silky dress where every little lump and stich will show, this is your place. I came here looking for something to go under my wedding dress, which I was beginning to think was impossible. My dress is a 30s style thin silk dress with a low back. I was convinced I was going to have to go bra-less for my wedding (and uh, quite frankly, dancing would be a real pain if that were the case). I'm a jerk and didn't get the name of the girl who helped me, but as I watched her come up with a solution, I quickly realized she is basically a doctor of bras. She ended up making me a concoction of a low back corset, spanx to go over the waist part of the corset and cups to put OVER the top part to hide the seams and create a smooth look. Yeah, it's a lot of stuff, but I was thrilled to get home and find that it worked perfectly with my dress. Hooray! The damage for the three pieces together was $186, but I consider this to be a pretty good investment for my wedding day.

I've been wanting to come here for quite some time ever since seeing the shop on some TV show, where a woman came in wearing an awfully wrong sized bra and walked out looking awesome. My appointment was made with Crystal and she was fantastic. Super friendly and patient and knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor. She showed me a wide range of bras (balconette, demi, full coverage, sheer, racerback, etc.). I had no trouble finding every day bras that fit me wonderfully. Each one was pricier than I'm used to paying, $75-80 each. But they are lovely, and the attention to my needs was priceless. I've been wearing the wrong size bras my whole life. I knew it, it was obvious, but I never seemed able to fix the problem. I tried getting fitted at Macy's and Victoria's Secret, I tried randomly trying on different sizes for an hour in different stores, I tried creative methods of measurement- but nothing worked. I've been wearing a 34/36 B/C for years now. Turns out I'm a 30 DDD. Think it can't happen to you? Go, give it a shot, you just might be shocked ;) Now, the bras are much tighter than I was used to. But as you can see from the crazy sizes I was wearing, they were far too loose before I came in. If you find you're having a similar problem it will take some time to get accustomed to having that pressure around your chest. Don't fret! Do keep in mind, they do have a cancellation policy that they follow. It's $100 if you cancel or reschedule your appointment in less than 24 hours, 72 hours if you have a Monday appointment since they're closed on weekends. It's the main reason I put off going for so long, I wanted to be sure come hell or high water I would be there!

If i wasn't already engaged i would have proposed to raquel right then and there. I went in this afternoon for a wedding ensamble to hide all the bumps and bulges motherhood has bestowed on me. My fiance was running late and I had to drag my poor 3 year old in with me - and she gave him a few wind up toys some paper and crayons to entertain his hyperactive self. She took a 30 second look at the pics of me in my gown and was back with the perfect thing - and the perfect thing was no where near as expensive as i expected!!! Then she brought me the spanx, and dear lord in heaven i dropped a dress size right then and there.... i will be returning to this amazing store for my next and all future lingerie purchases... the store was so laid back with an adorable kitty lounging around and the male owner ( his name escapes me at the moment) all smiles and hellos - even with my son who was bound and determined to embarrass me. When my fiance got there they were just as accommodating to him - and all in all it was a great experience! I was in and out in under an hour and that was perfect for me!

A year and a half ago, tired of being told a different bra size at every place I went, and still getting 4-boob syndrome, back pain, and absolutely no support from my bras, I started doing research and somehow ended up at Bra Tenders. The fact that you need to call in advance to set up an appointment, and buzz up to get in (it's not a regular storefront) was daunting, but I figured...anything to get a correctly fitting bra, for once! And hey, I don't HAVE to buy anything. The person I spoke to on the phone was chatty and friendly, and so was my salesperson once I arrived. She took one look at me, asked what size bra I was wearing, and came back with tons of bra in all shapes and styles. I couldn't believe how well they fit - support, coverage and lift! Before I left, the saleslady went over proper care, when I should think about buying new bras, and even the correct way to put them on. True, the prices are not cheap, but I haven't found the same brands and styles for cheaper anywhere else, even online, and they introduced me to the ONLY sports bra that I feel supported using and some of my favourite bras to this day (even after shopping around and purchasing other styles from more places). Plus, the value of a GOOD fitting cannot be underestimated. I haven't been back since then - mostly because I moved away for a year after my visit, and I actually know what size to ask for now when I go elsewhere, but I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is unsatisfied with the bras/fittings they've gotten elsewhere.

I came here to buy something for under my wedding dress -- a slinky little number that showed everything. I bought my dress at Kleinfeld's, which doesn't sell bras or other undergarments (which to me is unbelievable). I went to Bra Tenders (which specializes in this kind of item), and they were surprised that no one from Kleinfeld's had advised me to get undergarments earlier on in the process. Basically, since my dress had already been altered, they couldn't put me in anything like a corset because there wouldn't be room, so we decided on Spanx -- not the most glamorous or comfortable thing, but something that would do the job. I showed pictures of me in my dress to the lovely woman who assisted me (didn't bring my dress), and that was enough for her (she was wearing Spanx herself that day!). I was grateful that Bra Tenders helped me out. If you're getting married, I advise coming here for your undergarments. Seriously, they have everything.

What a great experience! So glad I came here. I was recommended to go to Orchard Corset by the place I purchased my bridal gown. And while they have excellent reviews, the negative ones left me feeling like I needed to go elsewhere. Call me old-fashioned (although I'm young), but I really value customer service. I also like to *see* the merchandise before I buy it. If I went to Orchard, I wouldn't have gotten either from the sounds of it. After some research, I decided on Bra Tenders and I'm SUPER glad I came here. Cristal helped me and was so wonderful. We spent about an hour trying on tons of corsets and bras until I came up with the best choice. She was so attentive and really gave her honest opinion (nicely & with humor) on what she thought worked best. I could tell she was very experienced, as she saw right away that I wasn't wearing the right size bra when I came in. She pulled a few choices and was right on with what I should've been wearing. From there, we tried on lots of looks. She even brought me some sexy stuff for the wedding night (and beyond) to try on. Overall, I'm so so happy I went here!

Heard so many things about this place. I've also heard many things about finding the right bra for your outfit. If I was spending all this money on outfits during my NYC vacation, I might as well budget for quality underwear. I was a dummy and walked in with no appointment. However, I told Crystal that I only needed one a bra, a strapless/convertible bra. She snuck in some time between her last appointment and lunch to give me a quick consultation. I showed her the sad state the strapless I had on was in. She took a quick look and asked what size I was wearing. Many places where I got fittings told me I was a 38D. She left for about 5 minutes and came back with a bra in two different sizes. (No shame in changing in front of complete strangers later...) Praise Jesus and the undergarment deities above! For the first time in ages The Twins were lifted and fully supported without straps. I was standing straighter and felt 10 pounds lighter. The change was so dramatic my off-shoulder tunic fell off. "You're a 36E," she told me while I was twirling around like a pretty princess in my new bra. The bra was convertible to boot. Even the straps didn't strangle me doing the one-shoulder option. The fit felt so good I didn't take the bra off. I bought it and walked off wearing it. Set up an appointment and pony up more cash for negligee from Bra Tenders. Your back (and your chest) will thank you for it.

I was referred to Bra Tender by a friend in order to purchase undergarments for my upcoming wedding. I made my appointment by phone a few months in advance. I'm not sure if it was necessary to make an appt so far in advance, but I was only going to be in NY for a few weeks so I had to get it done then. I made a double appointment for my best friend and I. We arrived to our appointment and were greeted warmly by Crystal. She helped me find the perfect corset top and shape wear for my wedding as well as an everyday bra. She was extremely knowledgable, courteous and fun. In order to help me get the effect of how my wedding dress would look over the undergarments she fashioned a dress out of a night gown and it was fabulous! For the everyday bras she had us try on different t-shirt styles to see how the bras looked under them. She made our bra fitting experience a great one. My friend was so pleased with how her new bras made her feel that she left the store in one! I read some previous reviews where some complained about the prices but I found them to be very reasonable. I priced shape wear at other places before booking my bra tender appointment and the prices were comparable. The bras varied in price from $35 on up so in my opinion there's something for every budget at Bra Tender. All in all we were very pleased with our experience and very happy with our purchases!
