Gourmet experiences in Adelaide for wine and chocolate lovers - SilverKris

"A long-standing chocolatier known for decadent hot chocolate made from melted Belgian chocolate and frothy milk rather than powders or syrups; signature offerings include a spiced hot white chocolate called horchata. The shop has earned gold awards at the Royal Adelaide Show and has undertaken whimsical creations such as a pair of chocolate stilettos for Lady Gaga." - SilverKris

Bracegirdle's is one of the most beautiful cafes/dessert houses I have ever visited in Adelaide, and their chocolate lives true to its name. They have quite an extensive food menu, their lunch options are also available in the morning. Their highlight, of course, is the chocolate! Highly recommend their dark chocolate drink, hot or iced.

Good Experience, quick service and friendly staff. They were able to make their pesto sauce without pistachios or cashews for my friend who is allergic. Food was really tasty and their white hot chocolate was absolutely amazing.

Beautiful place, the staff were inviting and friendly, the coffee and chocolate was as delicious but the vintage breakfast was very disappointing. Big breakfast equivalent to other cafes came with all the usual suspects but only 1 piece of bacon and 1 piece of bread, and the hashbrowns are not your typical hashbrown. I ordered poached eggs and all I could taste was vinegar, far too overpowering. Overall for the price I expected more and better quality.

The Clarence Park shop sits in an old house, very fitting to the relaxing and comfy vibe of the place. Service is fast and friendly. Coffee is great. The ice cream chocolate bomb is yummy. The dark hot chocolate is tasty but not dark enough. The outside sitting is a nice spot if you don’t mind the noise from the traffic. Located in the thick of the burbs, this is a nice spot for a lazy weekend afternoon or after dinner dessert choice.

Disappointed and Misled – Check Expiry Dates Carefully! I visited this chocolate shop on 14/7/25 and 15/7/25 and purchased two boxes (16 pieces each) for $52.50/each as a special gift for my family friends. I specifically asked the shop assistant about the expiry date and was told they expire in November 2025. Trusting that, I also asked for gift wrapping, which they agreed to do. To my shock and embarrassment, after gifting the chocolates, we looked more closely and saw the actual expiry date was 11/8/25 – just a few weeks away, not months like they claimed! This experience was really disappointing. Misleading information about expiry dates is unacceptable, especially when buying  a gift. I expected better honesty and customer care from a specialty chocolate store.

Lovely quiet spot amongst the busy Cross Rd. Indoors & outdoors seating available. Beautiful building & chocolate making can seen at certain times. Great selection cakes & chocolate available over the counter but also has an all day breakfast menu. Vegan options available too. Coffees are good. Staff are loving.

Bracegirdle's Cross Road was a great place for lunch. We tried the corn fritters and quiche, both of which were quite tasty. The quiche was perfectly cooked, while the corn fritters, though creamy and flavorful, lacked crispiness, which was a bit unexpected. The long black and latte were satisfying, well-prepared, and smooth. However, the chai latte was disappointing, as it was mostly milk with very little chai flavor, leaving room for improvement. Despite these small issues, it was an enjoyable meal overall.

Undoubtedly the best hot chocolate in the state. The cakes and pastries available are also delicious. The hot chocolate being made with real chocolate is a game changer. They have milk alternatives readily available for anyone who’s dairy free, and the dark chocolate is vegan so if you’re a non-dairy drinker you will also have the chance to enjoy the Bracegirdles famous hot chocolate. @kirbystaltari
