Braddock Bay Tavern & Grill

Ate on the patio on a perfect evening, it was Monday so not terribly busy. The wings were VERY good. Partner ordered a plate which met his experienced standards, I had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich which was really good especially with the sauce on the side. The food was great, service was prompt, and there's a lovely view. A wonderful experience. We also saw a number of birds including a great Blue Heron.

We had a great experience tonight. The soup and artichoke french appetizers were very good. I had the seafood special my nephews had the cheeseburger plate and chicken fingers. Everyone agreed the food was great. The service was excellent and there was not a long wait to get our food. Everyone there was so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely eat here again!

There was 12 of us and we still had great service. Orders came out and everything was hot and tasty. We all had a great time. We had wings and 2 went for the garbage plate order. They got stuffed.

Honestly, we cannot wait to return! The atmosphere, staff, and food was absolutely amazing! The outside of the building a quaint house style with trim, loved the entry posts wrapped with rope as if a dock side tiling. Fresh and clean deck, and entryway. Inside, the walls with tin on the lower half and paint above. The color scheme was fantastic. Ample tables and metal chairs with pads. Liked the bar area, dining room(s) separated by archways and one room lowered. A smaller room with a separate smaller bar as you head out to an enclosed porch. Then, a great outdoor deck for dining with another bar, ample tables and seating, even picnic tables on the waters edge. The main inside bar is beautiful, a large selection of draft beer. Love the simple rack for single wines, a little plant rooting in a bottle, name brand carpet runner! Let's not forget to review the bathrooms. They are spacious and very clean. LOVED the soap and towel drying! The food! One of us enjoyed two appetizers as a meal! The Braddock Bay Shrimp are cooked just right with an AMAZING homemade cream with a slightly spicy hint, possibly something like mayonnaise, bbq, and a touch of hot. Melt in your mouth delicious! Our other meal was a Cobb Salad with grilled chicken. The chicken sported great grill marks, sliced, and super tender. Very delicious! Bacon, crumbled blue cheese, tomatoes, and hard boiled egg. Perfect portions, great price! Our bartender/waitress, Melanie was an absolute charm; efficient, sweet, quick and professional, fun. We sat inside for the AC but look forward to returning for the outdoor experience. We will bring friends next time! Bravo!

The food is very good. Service is good. The weak link here is that the metal chairs in the dining room are very uncomfortable, and the parking lot lighting is very dark with lighting absent. You can't see where your walking at night and you can't see if there is any safety risk regarding people that might pose a risk. Personal safety could be greatly improved by putting lights in the parking lot. Getting comfortable dining room seats would greating improve the dining experience. These 2 issues keep us from returning more often to eat and drink. Recommended for food and drink.

Hate writing bad reviews but the food was subpar. Food looks nothing like the pictures in other reviews. No flavor on Mahi Mahi. Potato skins seemed to frozen from Walmart. The salad came out in a warm bowl making it warm to taste. The veggies were Luke warm and mushy .. Think twice about eating here sadly.. Beer was Good

My husband and I were out on a nice day and happened by this place. The menu looked like it had a nice variety so we decided to stop for a late lunch. It has a fair amount of tables inside and out. The burgers are big and delicious, cooked perfectly. The buns are toasted just a bit and nice and light, not dense. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crisp. We ordered mozzarella sticks first and they were the best we ever had. Just the right size, crispy and not real greasy. The dipping sauce had a nice flavor also. We're looking forward to coming again to try something else.

Went for dinner and drinks with another couple on new years eve. Staff was exceptional. Can't wait to go back over the summer to enjoy outdoor dining.

I know this location has had several owners/changes over the years, but this new owner has done an excellent job putting the menu together and serving consistently good food. We have been to Braddock Bay Tavern several times and have not been disappointed. 1st visit we had their wings-fresh, hot and excellent. Came back today and had their fish fry-let me tell you, I love my fish fry's and have tried many in the Rochester area-some very good places-Braddock Bay Tavern is near the top-the size was ridiculously large (not complaining), fresh, crispy beer battered and delicious-clam chowder-outstanding (comes with dinner or salad). Service-never rushed, very pleasant and accommodating waitress with a wonderful, enthusiastic approach. I highly recommend Braddock Bay Tavern-you won't be disappointed-ignore previous reviews from years gone by-this is a whole new experience.

Great food. Great deals. But why have political news on your TVs instead of sports?

Went on a Friday night and waited over 1 1/2 hours for food to arrive. I felt bad for waitress. I heard other conversations around me and people had been waiting quite a long time. Wrong orders coming out, all customers at table not getting food at same time. We were going to leave. She kept apologizing, never saw owner/manager. Food was ok, nothing special. Doubt if we will return.

Food and service great. Ambiance good but we neglected to ask for seating on porch when making reservations and we sat inside because porch was full.

Great view of the bay/pond by the lake. Very good food: excellent burgers, really good fish fry! This is an excellent summer spot, but the food makes it worth coming all year round!

Have a severe allergy to jalapeños. Ordered 2 quesadillas, ordered w/o jalapeños to go. Explained the allergy. And you guessed it. There were jalapeños inside. Would not refund or credit. Not happy.

We've been to the old place many times. New owner and chef (old chef from long time ago) We've been here twice now . The last time was a Saturday night and we were told 2 servers called in , that's a big hit on staff even so the kitchen staff stepped up and helped the servers out,as well as the owner. The service was awesome as well as the food .I had the prime rib and my wife had the crab cakes they both were awesome.we will be back.

Hit or miss kinda place. I think it has lots of potential but it seems the chef(s) aren't consistent. Fingers crossed for a better future outcome. I really do wish the calamari was better. Nothing I like more than fresh fried tentacles when I'm staring out onto the water. These are giant ice sized rings and often soggy and toooo chewy. Where is the crunch factor man?!?! Anyway, we'll still be back for the view.

Stopped there tonight and had a great meal. Both had breaded fish fry's . Drinks were very reasonable priced and service was awesome. Will definitely go back for dinner. Also the owner stopped by our table and introduced himself. I thought that was very professional.

Excellent garlic parm wings they made special for me. I can't eat mayonnaise (which every other place uses).....they did minced garlic, butter and real parmesan....so delicious...we will be back, especially when the chef bends over backwards for you

New owners! Last owner had crazy menu and was terrible. This is menu is awesome! The rack of lamb was fantastic.... We highly recommend Braddock Bay Tavern. Staff is attentive and nice.

We both had good burgers and excellent beer. The one bartender/server did her best to keep up with a few tables during a preseason lunch hour. We'll be back in warm weather for the view and casual food. Lots of potential.

If there was a zero star, I would have selected that. We had a reservation for dinner, tonight, place was closed when we arrived. They take your phone number when you make your reservation, why, if they can't call to notify you that they won't be open? We had quite a long drive to get there. Not the first time this has happened, but it will be the last.

New owners and new, amazing menu! Food was delicious! Service and ambiance was great! We came from out of town and will definitely be back each time we visit family.

Expensive, no portion control. I got a steak sandwich which was $15 plus tax and tip. I got a plate FULL of tater tots and a tiny amount of steak on a small slice of a sub roll. I was not happy, the server walked it back into the kitchen to verify this was my $15++ meal and came back with it. Yup that's all you get for almost $20. I refused it and ate elsewhere.

Great food with waterfront view. The French onion soup was the best I ever had. I had Chicken French for an entree and escarole was undercooked. Service was a bit slow. Wanted to sit outside but owner wouldn't sit us at a table that was available as there was only 3 of us. Table opened up and waitress moved us to table outside. Tables are a bit close inside to each other. I was a bit disappointed as I had a coupon from save around and owner wouldn't honor it due to Covid. I wish they had it advertised somewhere.

It was ok. My fish wasn't good but the fries and coleslaw were delicious. Service was very slow but cordial. I mean it's still pandemic and getting servers is a challenge. My fish seemed like it was frozen because it was dry with what seemed like freezer burn. A couple of dry, tough, inedible areas. The scenery was beautiful, right on the bay.

Well drove from buffalo to check this place out on patio. 20 min waitress finally comes without menus and takes drink order ten minutes later comes back out and servers orther tables and walks up I forgot what you order will told her now it's 12 minutes later we left the service is a joke and I can take money else we're wake up management!!

We stopped by here because we heard they had a prime rib special on Saturday nights. My husband loves prime rib so we made a reservation and headed over. There were many choices besides the prime rib-burgers, chicken,pasta, fish-something for everyone. We shared an apps - Sicilian calamari with kalamata olives and banana peppers. Great marinara on the side topped with fresh basil. Wonderful! I ordered the haddock French over escarole. Can I just say the portion was enormous. The amount I took home looked like I hadn't eaten much of it but I was certainly full! Our server Lisa was great! Very attentive and always ready to get water, d yea napkins, whatever we needed. This is one place I will definitely be back to! And if you are into sports, there are plenty of big screen TVs!

So we made a reservation at 5:30 the first time slot the woman said was available was 7:00. Fine. We arrived 10 minutes early. They didn't have our reservation. Owner was rude. Quote: "I'm sorry you must have called the wrong number." Me: "Well I can show you my phone with the correct number date/time stamped." Rude Frank: "Well you see we don't take reservations." Me: "Wrong again" Don't waste your time on this disgusting place.

I know what the restaurant will say in reply to my review: 'It was a holiday/we were busy/we were short-staffed/come back and try us again.' I know it was a holiday/it didn't seem that busy even though we were told it was/there was enough wait staff but there must have been just one poor slob in the kitchen/no, we will not come back. Memorial Day was a busy day for us, but, around 7 pm we were ready to celebrate a special day with a nice dinner. We had been hearing about this restaurant via local morning food news segments and local food-themed radio shows. I checked out the menu and the reviews. It sounded like a nice place on the water with a good menu. We entered and approached the hostess station. There was no hostess. A waitress approached us. We asked to be seated somewhere quiet, as the bar conversation and the music was a bit loud. We were told that the kitchen had stopped taking orders for awhile, but we could have a drink and study the menu. It was at this point we should have left and found a Wendy's somewhere. We received our drink order, and we were given a basket of bread. We had no silverware, so we left the bread untouched. During this time, we were able to observe what was going on around us. One diner, after the waiter profusely apologized over the long wait for his dinner, asked that it be wrapped "to go", as he had run out of time and had to leave. Another diner came from a separate room, saw his waiter, and yelled "There you are; I thought you had been fired!" The conversation from the bar area started drifting into our dining room. It was a constant stream of swear words, obscenities and even racial and ethnic slurs. The waitress finally came to take our order. Two of the dishes we wanted to order were unavailable. It would have been nice to have been told that before we ordered. After another good chunk of time, our Clams Casino was brought out. The server disappeared before we remembered that we had no silverware, so we had to call out to another waiter who had come into the room. The menu is good. The food is good. The scenery is good. Some of the wait staff didn't seem like they belonged there, and the bar crowd must be a holdover from another time. We felt like we were in a dive bar the entire time. It's such a shame that with all the restaurants we could have gone to that we picked this one. It's also a shame that a promising menu of good food was ruined by inept workers and customers who can't respect other customers. It's really a shame that we are out $80 as well.

It gets 5 stars because it was pretty darn good and because we were pleasantly surprised. The outide patio on this lovely June afternoon was the perfect setting for a quiet and enjoyable 5 pm lunch. Mrs. Bombay opted for 10 of the wings...5 barbecue and 5 medium and was happy with her choice and brought home 5 of the amply sized morsels. I went for the clam chowder and fish fry with french fries. I prefer my chowder first but because Patti broght it all at once, I improvised. One of the best fish fries ever and super french fries washed down with excellent and hearty chowder. Prices were very fair...service a little slow, but friendly. All in all a memorable find for us.

Great food and absolutely beautiful view of the bay. My only complaint is that they don't substitute a healthy option for the french fries that come with the sandwiches.

I made a reservation 5 days ahead for 6 people for a table with a bay view, got to restaurant and told they didn't have a table for us except near the bar. No waitress payed any attention to us for over a half hour, we never ate until an hour after arrival, and fishfries were not worth $17 each. My husband was brought the wrong brand of beer, waitress blamed it on bartender and promised to bring him a replacement. She then charged him for both beers. The noise level was deafening, and our first visit will be our last.

Very good chicken French last night!!! The chicken was so tender and flaky, the sauce and angel hair to die for! The salad to start was delicious, good spinach and cabbage, the Caesar dressing was tangy and full of flavor. There was corn on the salad, which was a little weird, and chickpeas. But my husband happily devoured those, lol. We got an appetizer or the fried sampler, with onion rings, pizza logs, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers, which were good! Tasted very fresh, fries crispy. We probably didn't need an appetizer, the chicken French portion was HUGE! Service was friendly, the bar was stocked well. It was clean and tidy. Decor was very relaxing, mix of grays. The music was more old timey, but that's fine! Definitely will return in the summer to enjoy the view of the bay even better!

The wife and I stoped by for dinner, big mistake. French onion soup was cold and tasteless, the wife ordered shrimp tacos the shrimp was burnt not over cooked burnt and the avocado was crunchy. I ordered the "steak" tacos that was actually made from overcooked steakums. Don't walk out of this one RUN.

Always great food and service. The menu has surprising depth with many French influences. In addition to the traditional wings, sandwiches & burgers on lunch menu, you can also get amazing quiche, niciose salad and crepes. Their New England clam chowder is pretty stellar too! Don't miss the back room for a beautiful view of the bay!

We had dinner there on Sunday night. It was steady but not super busy. We asked the waitress about the pasta served with the haddock & she assured us it was a white sauce even though it said marinara. Unfortunately both me and my husband ordered it & the sauce was red and served with broiled haddock. It's a funny combination and not that good. My son ordered a chicken dish & the chicken was super over cooked. I think the place is a good sandwich & appetizers but not a dinner place.

The reason y I'm giving one star.. Is the old lady needs to get out behind the bar. I had a coupon from. Save around. I don't give a shit if your new owners. You need to honor them. Give your lame excuses to someone eles. Good luck .

Biggest impressions: cleanest ladies' room I've ever encountered in a tavern, excellent service, good food, and lovely surrounding property. The interior decor is super blah, but it's a near perfect destination. I had one of the flatbreads and some mixed drinks from the bar and all exceeded my expectations. I see some poorer reviews listed, so perhaps my lowly expectations contributed to my disposition. This was a last stop on a crawl of sorts and I and my group were all very pleased. I was not expecting much and honestly thought it was just a bar. Completely wrong. Go here! It even seemed semi-kid-friendly! If you can, make sure a guy called "Cosmo" makes your food. Apparently his Chicken French is quite noteworthy.

Been coming here for awhile now great food and atmosphere...but I heard swearing in the kitchen I assume at employees....not necessary for customers to hear I know you are short staffed but please be nice

Decided to stop down a beautiful summer night. Ordered a shrimp pasta dish and they provide large portions. Also, it doesn't get much better than eating and drinking near the water.

Had dinner at braddock's bay Tonight. We all had an excellent meal. Love the new menu. Hope to go back soon.

Food was good but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed my burger and fries. My 2 dining companions had the fish fry sandwich that they said they enjoyed as well. The view was nice for looking at the bay. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but nothing really there that we would go out of our way to go back for.

Went today for Mother's Day. What a disappointment. Dried out chicken parm, pasta that was stuck together and dried out. Scrambled eggs that were like rubber. A pancake but no butter..when I asked for butter it was ice cold and brought to the table in a small paper holder. Very disappointing and at 39.99 a person no Value! Maybe their bar food is better, however this was not Enjoyable! Our waitress had to see by what we ate when she cleared our plates that we didn't enjoy our meal, guess she didn't care. The owner was seated at the bar with the cook watching TV, guess he didn't care. Needless to say I won't recommend this place based on my experience today. It was very Disappointing! I felt so bad for my daughter who planned this for myself and her aunt.

We went here for lunch on 8/5/2018 and everything was great. We ate outside and the view was terrific. We ordered onion soup, a flat bread pizza and burger, food took a little while to come out, but we did not mind as we sat and enjoyed the view and drank daquiris. Onion soup was average. Flatbread pizza was delicious, as was the burger and our drinks. I only deducted one star because two very loud individuals decided to move their bing drinking out to the patio. They were loud and obnoxious. My suggestion would be, if they are not eating, don't allow them to sit at the dining tables. We will be back

Eat here often and I'm never let down by the service or food. I come in with my family and friends to eat and to go to the bar. When I'm at the bar the owner always makes sure I'm getting fair pours on drinks and even has bought me and guests a round. Also his wife is always very nice and has even taken my baby while we ate before and took her for a walk. And to top it off the staff is always consistent I never see new servers and always on top of it. Would highly highly recommend the mahi mahi and the fish fry. the French onion soup is always amazing.

We were about 30 minutes away when I called and asked it they had tables open by the water. They said yes. I ask if we could make a reservation, and the person on the phone said they don't take reservations. When we arrived and asked for a table by the water, the host tried to sit us at table in the PARKING LOT.....no where near the water. There were multiple tables open by the water, and when my wife asked if we could sit at one of them, the host told us "those are reserved for boaters that called ahead." I'm sorry that we just drove 30 minutes after being told that they don't take reservations. We were denied a table that was open and instead was offered a table in the parking lot. No reservations is no reservations. The host also was rude in the way he acted towards us, and when I told him we didn't want to sit in the parking lot where we couldn't even SEE THE WATER, he snapped and yelled "THIS IS BY THE WATER"!!!!!! We usually eat there once a month and love the food, and we were also considering docking our boat there next season. Even with the "boater guarantee of a table" we will not be giving them any more of our business.

Great food and service. Can eat outside weather permitting. Reasonable prices and is accessible by boat.

Very cool views. The food was great. I ordered the haddock French which was great. Prices were good as well. The only downfall is the selection of craft beer. Bigger the selection the more I would go and the most stars this review would be.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We tried calling several times for reservations, and it kept going to voicemail every time with no option to leave a message. We got there with a party of 6 on a Saturday night, they said it was going to be an hour before they could seat us. No problem. Finally got seated and our waitress Kim came to the table to take our drink order. Ordered the same beer we had while waiting for our table and told us they didn't have it. Little minor mistake, but the waitress had a bad attitude from the beginning. Finally ordered our food, and when our food came out an hour and 15 min after we sat down many things were wrong. One order of chicken French had fish in the sauce, and came out with angel hair pasta, when penne pasta was ordered. A fish fry was ordered breaded and it came out beer battered, and also couldn't get our salad dressing correct, and we were never even offered water. The bill came finally, and you would think maybe she would take a dinner off for the trouble, nope, everything was full price. The waitress was not apologetic once. Needless to say we will never be back, not even for drinks, and we will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Beautiful location with a nice view of the water. Today was a busy day according to the staff. We ordered the sampler platter and another appetizer as the lunch menu was limited. Being both myself and my guest are in the culinary community it was apparent the oil was in need of being changed. The server was good, knowledgeable of the specials not offered in our menu and suffice. Maybe on a less busy summer day, without a party on the deck the quality may improve. Will visit again.

Well the food was very good , I had Chicken French with French Artichoke. However my husband got the wrong meal twice, our waittres had ambulance called due to chest pain and no one took over our table till we asked. The poorest service we have had in 30 years. We will never go back , ever.....

Not impressed at all. Service was great but the good was nothing special. Orderd the nachos to start and they were very bland and very little cheese. The little cheese that was on them was just cold shredded cheese with canned jalipinos and ground beef or taco meat wasn't even an option. We both orderd burgers which were cooked perfectly, the roll was tossed nicely but that's it. No seasoning and the toppings were minnimal. The French onion soup was absolutely terriable, couldn't even eat it. The French fries were really good though, fresh cut. All in all I felt like I was eating hospital good. Very bland food. I will try it one more time during the summer to see if they make some improvements. If you're in the and want a good meal there are better choices.
