Brakanes Hotel by Fjordtind

The setting of this hotel is absolutely magical and the food was top notch. Tons of choices for breakfast at the buffet and everything we tried at dinner (a la carte) was very tasty as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were a decent size, some seemed more updated than others but everything was kept clean and in good repair. We also really enjoyed having pools and saunas right at the hotel. If you come as an independent traveler, definitely pay a bit more for the view rooms facing the fjord! The one downside was that this seems to be a big stop on the tour bus circuit. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but you may want to work your schedule around the 5 pm bus arrivals. They did ask you to reserve a dinnertime ahead if you wanted to eat there because the big groups took up most of the dining room.

Great hotel in Ulvik, Norway. The front rooms have great view of the fjord, the back rooms see the mountain. We had a large room and clean, but the bathroom will be much more better after a renovation. It is still has an old bathtub. The breakfast was very good with a variety of option. The restaurant also is a very good choice. You could also swim in front. Pet-friendly.

The room is not big but acceptable. The deco is simple, refined and comfortable, and the interior is clean and tidy.||Although the lift is a little small, the overall environment of the hotel is quiet, cozy, pleasant and elegant. ||The back garden is beautiful. The extraordinary view behind the hotel is breathtaking and unforgettable. A very nice stay.

We travelled to Norway from Ireland. It was our dream to see the Fjords and we stopped in Ulvik on our way from Oslo to Bergen. We stayed at the Brakanes Hotel for two nights. It quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. The views of the Fjord from the hotel are spectacular. The food is excellent consisting of local produce executed to a very high standard. The staff are exceptional and couldn't do enough for us. A special shout out to Kenneth & Jonas who looked after us so well! We wish we had booked longer here and we hope to come back again in the future! This is a must visit haven for anyone looking for a high quality and tranquil spot from which to visit the Fjords.

Had an amazing meal at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — I really enjoyed every bite. The staff were super friendly and kind, which made the whole experience even better. On top of that, I got to enjoy a beautiful view of the lake and mountains while eating. Such a great vibe and atmosphere overall. I had a fantastic time and totally loved it!

Had an amazing dinner, Rodrigo and Guido are both great. Saw them at the bar next to reception the day after and they remembered me. Great views of the lake!
