We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice sized rooms with some outside space and seating. We stayed d,b and b and the food was excellent. Particularly recommend the brose - porridge with honey, whiskey and cream. And the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Excellent! It was further out of Oban than I anticipated but the beautiful location compensated. The owners David and Christine are a lovely hard working couple, as are all the staff.

My wife and I really loved our stay here! We stayed for 2 nights and definitely would come back! The room was clean, bed really comfy too! The food was outstanding too! The fish and chips were amazing, honestly up there with the best chips I’ve had too, the fish was great, but you usually never get chips to match the tastiness of the fish! My wife has a medical issue where she can’t eat certain things, and the chef was very accommodating indeed! I would say if you do have any medical conditions, message them in advance and I’m sure they will have what you need for when you get there! The scenery was out of this world too and nice walks to go on too! All in all, loved it! Great staff, very friendly and warm! Could’nt ask for a better experience! The couple that run the place are a real credit to the place, and so are all the staff to be fair!

I stayed at this hotel last night and disappointed doesn't come close to how I feel. We were hoping to use this hotel as our wedding reception and wanted to try it out first. I'll start with the 2 huge plus points. The location is stunning and the food is fantastic. Now the let down from arrival. No sign to reception to check in. Bistro doors were closed at 3pm so random unsigned hallway leads to an open plan office. Call number and I'm quickly greeted by David who checks me in. Room 2 is a Superior Superking. Enter and the carpet hadn't been hoovered. Questionable marks about 7ft high on wall, dirty table, socket switch broken off, inside of kettle burnt, bedside lamp broken, mould on back of curtain and around window, unbelievable dusty to the point where a large dead spider on the phone was covered in it. Bathroom, more mould everywhere, chipped glass, mirror light broken and missing bulb. Shower head holder broken. Cigarette butts on patio area. Not a great nights sleep as the walls are paper thin and even though there were probably no more than 10 people staying you could hear everything. Breakfast experience wasn't very good either. Nobody there to welcome you. Grab a table, go get a look warm coffee (wasnt using the kettle in the room) and eventually the chef who was doubling up as the waiter (he was great btw and is wasted at this venue) comes and takes our order. Lovely cooked breakfast (continental left a lot to be desired). Check out there is a drop box but a female member of staff took our room key. No mention of how our stay was just asked our room number. We had just booked our wedding venue at St. Conan's Kirk and wanted to get a true feeling for the place. What was a special day for us was left with a sour taste after this experience. I really hope the cleaning and hospitality issues are looked at because what could be an amazing hotel is a huge let down.

Lovely food, really comfortable bed, local beer brewed specifically for the owner a must try. Lovely unmanicured ( makes it better ) gardens down to the river to wander....views up along the river valley are spectacular...and the night skies are amazing if you can avoid cloud, the owner is very approachable and friendly and all the staff are down to earth, professional and much more can do than the corporate '5' star staff of bigger establishments, a special nod to Liam for his customer service. ...

Stayed here for a night whilst checking out the surrounding areas. David is absolutely lovely, well spoken and very welcoming. The room we stayed in was comfy with a small patio to sit and have a coffee and take in the views and the sounds of the wild life. The shower was powerful and the bed and pillows were really comfy also. We did not have any food on this occasion as we got some when we were out and about but the dining area looked well set and smells tasty. All n all this is a great place and would stay here again.

I cannot rate Brander Lodge highly enough . It is in an excellent location for exploring. The hotel is immaculate and the food is absolutely delicious try the Scottish nachos starter delicious compliments to the chef . Breakfast was cooked fresh with a great variety and quality of products . Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much bother . The room was spotless we got a upgrade thanks David , to be honest there was nothing to fault . It was a wonderful stay and the views from the dining room were lovely .|I would just like to say however , on coming on to post this review I was surprised at some of the negative reviews and found myself wondering was it the same place they were talking about . If you are reading these reviews please , please do not be put off it is a wonderful wee tranquil haven with the best of Scottish hospitality from David and I will most definitely be returning in future. Thankyou for a wonderful stay

This is aimed at the manager and housekeeping staff . Never have I stayed in a more disgusting hotel . From cobwebs making my skin crawl to dirty disgusting bathrooms , shower curtain looks like it’s not been taken off and washed this year black and pink mould all over it and the walls in the shower look like slime is on them . The cold water runs warm in the sink and the shower trickles . Staff were lovely in the bar on the first night but nobody there to welcome us when we checked in on arrival . Our room keys were left on the desk with our personal details for anyone to look at !!! The breakfast room had dead flies all along the window ledges and cobwebs and spiders everywhere . This is not a hotel you want to relax in . We couldn’t say anything as nobody other than the chef there in the morning or the waitress . We tried to call the no that is left at the desk but again nobody would answer !!

Yelp
We just had a wonderful night stay at this beautiful hotel. My husband has motor neuron disease and the owner went out of his way to help our stay to be a very comfortable one. Food is top quality (I highly recommend the steak and ale pie) Rooms are beautiful and comfy bed. We will be returning for a longer stay next day Mr & Mrs Brand

Yelp
excellent comfy hotel, refurbished rooms were like 4star at least. Nothing was too much trouble for staff
