Brandon Hotel

Great neighbourhood pub! Grabbed dinner here recently before a gig nearby and when we arrived the place was busy (both inside and out!) which is always a great sign. We thankfully had made a booking and were taken to our table in the dining room. The room was perfect as it was tucked away enough to talk over our meals but also not far from the action. We ordered the Spiced Cauliflower Bites with Chipotle Mayo (to start), and the Beer Battered Fish and Chips and the Steak Sandwich (from the specials board). The food came out quickly and was really delicious - just what you expect from a great pub! The staff were super friendly and attentive and the music was on point. All up we could see why everyone loves this place and why it was so lively! We wish that this was our local!

Had dinner at the Brandon last night after a long absence. Could not have loved it more. The potato cakes were amazing, my chicken schnitzel was perfectly juicy and my husband said his parma was “everything a parma should be”. Wines were well priced, staff were cheery and we finished with a retro ice cream which really hit the spot

Steak Night ... don't bother to reserve for a dining room table, just order and eat by the bar ... faster service. Lily single handedly served the whole dining area by herself ... thank you. Steak was okay for $29.00 with a glass of house wine or beer.

I have not been to the Brandon for decades, but found myself in the area on a Wednesday night and when it came up in a search I zeroed in. Different to how I remembered it, but still with great beer, great menu, great service. A few different areas for different moods, including a comfortable sitting room at the back. Highly recommended.

Sports bar in the front and warm, comfortable dining area in the back - complete with comfortable chairs and tables; chesterfield sofas; a cupboard with games for children; and a small outdoor courtyard. The food is excellent, the staff are lovely, and they have live music on Sunday afternoons. All in all, a wonderful place to spend an afternoon or an evening.

It's kind of a blessedly non fancy pub in the area. Everything is pretty good. No frills!

Good Parma, good beer. We were able to get a table despite not having made a booking.

Extremely rude behaviour from the bartender today. He came outside to the smoking area while we were having cigarettes and took our beer glasses without saying a word. A few seconds later, he asked what we were smoking, then said he thought it was weed and returned our glasses. This is completely unacceptable and was very humiliating for us in front of our friends.

The one thing that I do like about this pub is that it isn't located on one of the main roads, which means that it doesn't tend to get anywhere near as packed as some of the other pubs that I have visited. Even then, it is still quite a charming pub that has some really friendly staff. In fact, the atmosphere here is quite relaxing, and they even have some rather nice beers on tap. Oh, they also have a beer garden, but it isn't one of the best, and mainly set aside for the smokers.

Stunning dinner on Friday night. As vegetarians we shared the haloumi tacos, and sides of cauliflower and almonds, potato skins with seaweed and Japanese mayo. What an amazing combination- every mouthful a delight. At our local corner pub no less!
