If you plan to hang out, make sure to get your park pass. You can get a yearly one, but I just got it for the day. Since I was out of state, it was $8.00. There are outside places to pay, but I got mine at the Nature Center. As you can see by the photos and videos, it is well worth the cost. You can also get your Passport Stamp for First State - Delaware.
The Nature Center is a must for the kids as it has a viewing room and a bunch of nature stuff to see and read. There is a mini gift shop if you want some souvenirs.
There is an area to go exploring in the woods to see some of the wildlife. Most of the area is open fields though, so good for kids to run around. There are plenty of places to picnic and there are some grills available for use. If interested, there is frisbee golf, but make sure it isn’t windy. It is pet friendly as I saw a few people with dogs.
