Guide to Cuyahoga Valley National Park

"A dramatic 60-foot cascade that plunges over shale and sandstone and is best seen from a short boardwalk that provides multiple viewpoints, including side and above perspectives; spring runoff and recent rains make the spectacle especially powerful." - Stephanie Vermillion Stephanie Vermillion Stephanie Vermillion is a travel journalist and photographer covering culture and adventure for Travel + Leisure Outside, and more. I went here with a very close friend and her son. We had a great time following the trails near the falls. We plan to visit again when it's warmer and we can hit other areas of the valley.

Beautiful water fall.very pretty.cool walking/hiking trails, but wear very comfortable ahoes, bring a walking stick, plenty of water and a sweat rag.Uneven walking paths.Could be a trip and fall hazard.lots of tree roots coming up from the ground, lots of rocks, steps, stairs.NOT RECOMMENDED for people with hip, leg, knee, ankle, foot and back problems! LOTS of walking.Wearing a hat with a visor or ball cap is recommended! If you love nature and being in the woods, this is the place for you,its beautiful! There are picnic tables to sit and have lunch, shady areas and clean bathrooms.PARKING is pretty rough during peak hours, like on Holidays and weekends.Plenty to see! Dogs are more than welcome but must be on a leash. So,have a good time and enjoy yourself. It will be fun and IS worth the trip!

Friendly people working here. Clean bathrooms. Easy hiking for kids and an incredible view of the waterfall. If you know how to appreciate nature, you’ll enjoy the trees and the sky contrasting with all the green. Nature is peace.

This was a quick and easy walk along a well maintained boardwalk. There were 4-5 nice places to stop and get good views of the falls. Ranging from the lower stairs to see full height to a few side views to a bridge to see it from above. There is a nice view of a peaceful waterfall. We visited on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy but not crowded.

This is an absolutely beautiful place! We hiked the Brandywine loop with our 2 and 4 year old. It wasn't too difficult although with toddlers it did take over an hour. They loved the waterfall and all the stairs!

Pretty, but can't really get close to to the waterfalls, on levels 2 and 3. Walking back up 4 flights of stairs to see from level 1 on. 90°+ day just didn't seem interesting. Just limited vision to the see the falls through the trees. Smells fantastic. Active conservation and ecosystem culturing is in progress. Once you go past the meadow and picnic area, beware the nonstop wall of mosquitos if you try to head down the cliffs on the trails. I gave up eventually. Bikes are near constant past walkers. Gorgeous old house and lots of historical markers throughout the park.

Did the gorge loop trail and visited the falls. Other reviewers posted pictures of stairs leading to the falls however these lead to the lower deck. The upper deck is handicap accessible and both have a very nice boardwalk. The upper deck has a decent view but the lower deck offers a better view. The gorge trail had a few steep sections and was muddy and slippery due to the rain overnight. Overall a great hike and break from the car and only minutes off I-80.

There's a couple short trails around this corner of Cuyahoga National Park. The main trail is short but VERY pretty, green. The falls are spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. The parking lot does fill up quickly. Get there early.
