"See the Country's Second-Oldest Lighthouse Brant Point Lighthouse is the second-oldest in the United States and is included in the National Register of Historic Places. Still in operation, the 26-foot tower sits close to the water's edge on a spit of land forming the entrance to Nantucket's boat harbor. About a 15-minute walk from the center of town, this busy spot is a fun place to watch the ferries and yachts come and go. While the lighthouse itself is closed to the public, the grounds are open and are popular for fishing on the point. Dip your toes into the water and have a picnic. The elevated wooden walkway leading to the lighthouse is a favorite photography spot for visitors and wedding parties. If it's a race weekend, find out the departure times and grab a seat to watch the elegant boats sail through to their starting point. Nearby Brant Point Grill in the White Elephant Hotel is the place to get a lobster roll and bloody Mary before heading back to town. (Nantucket has two other, equally Instagram-worthy, lighthouses: Great Point marks the end of the elbowed tip and requires an off-road vehicle or a boat to get there; Sankaty, built in 1850 and relocated in 2007 to prevent it falling off the eroding cliff, warned sailors and fisherman of the treacherous shoals off the coast.)"

Stunning little light right off the point. This is THE spot to get your Nantucket souvenir photo. I recommend walking from town to the light as you will pass some antique shops, scenic homes, and the coastguard house along the way. There's plenty of beach to sit on and enjoy a picnic dinner, and an abundance of slipper shells which I'm sure the shoreline appreciates. Oh, and the Rugosa Roses smell absolutely amazing. If Nantucket had a perfume, she would wear Rugosa Rose.

Iconic & Legendary lighthouse at the arrival of Nantucket! Really nice historical lighthouse which is super scenic to see both during the day and at night. You cannot miss it if you come to Nantucket, it is a central & popular part of the island. We really liked it !

Seems to be one of the most popular places for photos, It seems there is always someone around here either fishing, enjoying the view, taking a relaxing stroll along the beach or taking photos of incoming boats. Quite peaceful to just sit down and enjoy an hour.

Enjoyed the view from the ferry as it seemed to offer up the best vantage point. It is just a short walk from downtown but my feet were pretty worn out at the end of the day. Plenty of people fishing out here and some beautiful wood sailing boats anchored off shore.

Yelp
BRANT POINT LIGHTHOUSE is the easiest lighthouse to get to in the island. Great place to boat watch. Easy to get to. Small bike stands.

Yelp
The Brant Point Lighthouse was one of the iconic sights in the Nantucket area, located only a few blocks walking distance from our hotel. It was certainly a beautiful scene, the lighthouse extending over the ocean and providing a picturesque experience. We took a bunch of photos on the beach and held a yoga session as well! Beautiful 70 degree weather with low humidity, what more can you ask for on a weekend vacation? Best, Charlie

Yelp
The Brant Point Light is the best known light on Nantucket. It honks during the day and lights up red at night. There is a little slip of beach by it, but when the tide comes in it's entirely in the water. I photographed an elopement there a few weeks ago at low tide. Other than the soft honking of the light, it was a great spot for a wedding-- there really weren't any other people around...except a pair of kayakers that went by. The couple stood on the rocks and said their vows with a local JP and then they waded out into the ocean for some pictures. It was romantic and sweet, and beachy, and solitary all at once....everything their elopement was meant to be.

Yelp
brant point light is a neat old lighthouse on nantucket island and the second oldest lighthouse in the country i'm told. when you go to see it, it feels like you are really seeing an important piece of maritime history. it's pretty small and you can only see the exterior of it. it's also a nice scenic walk from the ferry docks in downtown nantucket (about a 20 minute walk). take your camera because you can get some cool shots while you're there.
