I was at the Brantry for a private function – VJ cooks cookbook launch. Prue did an amazing job adapting dishes from Vanya’s latest recipes. Every dish was so flavoursome, with the perfect mix of textures and beautifully cooked. The family atmosphere was really welcoming and the professional and friendly service made for a memorable long lunch. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an incredible experience! The staff is wonderful, warm and welcoming. The food is out of this world! Drinks are very reasonably priced, and the gin selection deserves a special mention. Eating here is an 11 out of 10 experience and should not be missed. Pictures of some dishes are missing because I was so lost in enjoying them that I forgot I meant to take them. Also, the gyoza are some of the best I have ever tasted.

This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. The food was outstanding and the staff was incredibly nice. This is one of the top three best meals I've ever had in my life. I just couldn't get enough. We started off with the coconut curried prawns and the pork belly. The skin on the pork belly was phenomenal- it was so crispy. We were expecting big prawns, but only got two small ones. Next, we had the duck leg and the snapper dish. Both were cooked well and were quite tasty. We also split the duck fat potatoes, which were cooked phenomenally well. For dessert, my partner had the ginger crème brûlée and I had the rhubarb and almond frangipane tart. Both were divine and a great finish to a really amazing meal. I finished off every piece that I was served and I still wanted more. The restaurant is set in a 1950s home which is really cool. It cost $85/per person, which is well worth it. This place is pretty epic, so make a trip here. You won't regret it!

We came for early dinner. Ordered set menu and food is delicious. The only issue is that fish of the day doesn’t smell fresh. Rather it smells salted and dried before cooking. It still tastes good but not what I would expect. Also there are only two pieces of bread. When we ask for more we were told no more. Quite strange.

We were a party of 3 and enjoyed the 3 course meal. I enjoyed the spiced prawn entry, was tasty but the fried bread was a bit soggy and hard to cut. Others had the beef carpaccio and the roasted beetroot which they enjoyed. For mains, we had the pork belly, lamb shoulder and venison with a side of broccoli. I really enjoyed the lamb shoulder but was disappointed with the side, was nothing special about it, the pork belly was a hit, however the venison flavour was very subtle and lack some of the bold flavours of the other dishes. Dessert was enjoyable from the lemon crepe brûlée to the chocolate mousse. Drinks menu was good.

We had the absolute best night on the 1st of April (my birthday). I arrived with my mum and sister and was surprised to see a group of my best friends already sitting at the table. The food was outstanding! And the atmosphere perfect! We all agreed we felt so indulged especially with all the extras you get at The Brantry! The complimentary bread (that we couldn’t get enough of) the sorbet between entree and main. The attention to detail is impressive! From the local potters dishes you eat from, to the immaculate presentation of every meal. The staff are so attentive, I don’t think anyone was left waiting for a drink. If you’re heading along to the Brantry we can all recommend the rose bud cocktails! They are delicious. We left with big smiles, full bellies and aching cheeks from an awesome night of delicious food & drinks, great company and lots and lots of laughs!

This place was so nice! We had the most delicious fancy meal here and amazing service as well. We really love the food and it was reasonably priced, I had a smoked steak that was not on the menu but they were kind enough to prepare it specially for me also we had a fish that was so tender and good! If you ever pass through lake Taupo make sure you hit this place! Book in advance to avoid disappointment 👌🏼🤍
