Google
Disappointed. We went to the place with such so exciting. The meat was absolutely tough. The chicken and the beef was so far and hard to cut through. We literally had to abandon most of it on the plate.. I think nobody was ordering the grill so we got the overcooked stuff. The sides that came with the girl was good. . The service was good. The waiter was nice. They try to tell him how can the meat is so hard. We paid for the food and went to the next shop and had Burger, which was palatable.

Google
Best Picanha anywhere! Must stop! local place with some tourist. Great price for fantastic quality. Cooked and prepared perfectly.

Google
Good affordable meal of rotisserie small chicken ( galeto ). Nice hot chili oil and open late. Chill diner vibe.

Google
I had a late lunch, around 3pm, and nobody was really there, so I got a good service… I ordered their specialty, “Galeto A Campanha” or Roasted Small Chicken served with rice, fries, tomatoes and onions! It was a big serving, for people with small appetite… however, maybe not enough for some. I would go back for the Picanha!

Google
The food in this place ie delicious, savoury, juicy. We also tried two desserts, ambrosia, and “pudding”, it was a classic and creamy “pudding”. I would definitely recommend and eat here again.

Google
Food is good, nothing special. Service is so bad. Our waiter didn’t have patience at all. And no one speaks English there.

Google
Good service, and the food was excellent! We had Picanha with Farofa and Brocoli rice. We sat on a table on the sidewalk because we love the "botequim vibe!"

Loved this place so much we ended up eating here every other day! Best flavors and best quality.

Yelp
We found this place with good reviews and decided to try it. When we arrived, it wasn't busy and they told us to sit anywhere on the bar. They didn't really speak English but it wasn't difficult to order. We got the steak and chicken. They came with some kind of vinegar infused veggies, rice, powdered stuff, and fries. The guy helping us scooped food onto our plates. It was an odd but interesting experience. Overall we loved the meat here, and the service was also great! Not to mention it was super affordable! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
We went here on our first night in Rio. The best meal we had at a great value. I believe the three of us ate for $15 - $20 USD per person (I think I'm overestimating because it might have been cheaper). The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive.

Yelp
This place is amazing. John Paul was our waiter. He recommended us the steak chicken black beans, rice and everything was delicious. I had a lot of Brazilian food while being out here but Braseiro is by far my favorite place to eat in Rio. The meat has so much flavor and everything is cooked fresh. Don't let the looks for you. This little hole in the wall is filled with nothing but magic.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Rio! I found it through a Yelp search near my hotel (Hilton Copacabana - a great hotel...) sorted by ratings. The meal was incredible! Quite possibly the best (and cheapest) steak I've eaten. Service was excellent - though no one spoke English. We were able to order via pictures (from Yelp) and a partial translation on the menus. We ordered the two of the "For 2" Filet Mignon meals. Steak (it wasn't a filet mignon cut like in the USA, it kinda looked like a skirt steak but very tender) perfectly cooked and seasoned. It came with a huge helping rice and beans (some of the best I've eaten too) , French fries and a couple other things (like scrambled eggs and breadcrumbs) and a garlic tomato onion mix. With two 20-Oz Cokes, a bottle water and a bottle of beer...our bill was about US$55.00. Incredible deal. If we had another night in Rio we'd eat here again. It was that good. It's a block off the Copacabana Beach, counter service and a few tables on the sidewalk. Seemed like a very safe neighborhood. They take credit cards.

Yelp
This was just what I was looking for. Tasty grilled salty meats. Portion sizes that work when you're eating alone (I still had leftovers but not overwhelming) and very inexpensive. The place is from the 70s and it looks like it. Not a bad thing, but also not a date spot. Service was attentive and at least 2 guys spoke English. I left very happy.

Yelp
This is a local hole in the wall. Cleanliness is not great. Service was good. We ordered the picahna for two and three of us ate. We were full though we are not big eaters. The meat had good taste but was not tender. It was cooked medium rare on the rare side. For sides it came with white rice, French fries, falofa and tomate with onions.

Yelp
Yessss this place was so good! I don't want to write this to keep it a secret but it's just too good not to share. You'll see most of the local traditional dishes you've googled on the menu. I can't pronounce them anymore but the rice dish (-arroz something) with shredded beef was excellent. The meats were served up fresh and sizzling. Loved it here!

Yelp
Absolutely the best meal we have had in Rio. The chicken was to die for. The portions were amazing and very filling. The pricing was excellent and only a bar off of Cocapana Beach. If I didn't want to experience more of the Rio. I'd eat there everyday

Yelp
Sorry but I have to pour cold water on all these 5 star reviews. It doesn't suck but it's also not even close to awesome. They aren't doing anything here you can't do better just going to the grocery store and cooking yourself. They are just doing it for you. But the price is reasonable and the quantity is good. Service is decidedly unfriendly. Keep this in your back pocket as a last resort type deal.

Yelp
This neighborhood gem is a great find. We sat at one of the four tables out on the sidewalk and enjoyed the experience. We had the barbecue combo for two, with a couple of Caipirinhas. While the poultry offering in the mix was a little dry, everything else was melt-in-your mouth delicious. The service is quick and friendly, and when even French fries are good, you have to take notice. You won't go wrong here. Low price, high value - and leftovers for tomorrow.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Picanha was our favorite. Also had delicious chicken, beans and rice. Sit and the bar...

Yelp
This place was great! Not on main strip but awesome food, good service, and everything was hot! Lots of Brazilian prepared meats! Fries and veggies were outstanding. Sit by the street for the full affect!

Yelp
I have been coming here for over ten years. My Brazilian friends have been coming here for almost 50 years. Very traditional counter service with waiters who are professionals. Not a big place, but a great place full of locals. A great tradition for galeto style chicken in Rio.

Yelp
If you want a dining experience that is up close and personal, come here. Do you really want to eat at a kilo restaurant again with subpar food, or would you rather have some yummy Brasilian meat?!! Veggos, I am sorry. Please go elsewhere. But for my meat eaters, go with the chicken aka #1 and you cannot go wrong. Pair it with some veggies and/or rice for sides. Split it all with a friend and you've got yourself one feeling meal! All for under 20usd in Copacabana. WIN! P.S. Service is spotty but the staff mean well. Also they take your credit card so play nice.

Yelp
Excellent meat- we shared filet mignon between three of us. Cooked perfectly, very juicy and great seasonings. Everything is cooked in front of you in a small, intimate setting and the waiter serves more as you go. He even made the vinaigrette at the table. Meal came with rice, fries and farofa w/ eggs. Very satisfying portions and meat so expertly cooked- it was cut with a spoon!

Yelp
We (two total) got the Picanha for two, it was worth it. It was about 30 USD with two drinks (1 - Brazilian beer and a bottled water) and the service fee (the 10% auto gratuity every place charges). You will have your steak on your plate within 10 minutes of ordering. The picture is of Picanha minus one piece (my camera isn't faster than a hungry companion).

Yelp
Oh my gosh this place was good! Ordered the Mixed BBQ and it was SOOOO much delicious food. The meats were all fantastic but the rice was also super good too.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
We had the Argentinean mixed grill with sides of black beans, rice and fries based upon past reviews. It was great. The sausage is the best I have eaten in Brazil! The steak was tender and moist! The grilled onions and peppers pulled it together. It was served with a side salad of onions and tomato with olive oil and vinegar. Awesome! We also had 2 Heineken's because that's the only beer they said that they had when we asked for Brahama. I was disappointed when locals arrived and they were served Brahama's. Dinner for 2 with beer was $82 reais, only $22 US! That would have cost me $80 at home.

Yelp
The best Galeto ever! Flavor!! Attention and Price! Real unique Food in Copacabana. Recommended 1000%

Brian A.

Yelp
Amazingly cooked steak. I had filet mignon. I traveled 12 days in Argentina and 12 days in Brazil....on the last day in Brazil I found the best cooked steak of my tree trip and best price!
google avatar

Yelp
Very popular with locals. Grilled meat was tasty. Sit at the bar if you want a unique experience.

Yelp
This place is open air to the street, just sit down and order. Simple no frills, small restaurant. I got the mixed grill and the salad. These were very large portions. The mixed grill could easily be shared with 2 people. The salad was also a very large portion that could be split. The mixed grill took 15 minutes to prepare. An assortment of pork, chicken and beef. The meat was good, not fantastic. The venue was close to my hotel, conveniently in Copacabana. The service was quick and satisfactory.

Yelp
If you ever visit Rio, this is a must eat. I received a recommendation to visit and I definitely would have walked by if I didn't have it. This food was so fresh! I ate white onions and I couldn't even tell afterwards. The staff was super friendly. You have to go!
google avatar

Rodrigo T.

Yelp
This is an an awesome spot just a block away from the beach. All the food is prepared right in front of you to perfection. The portions are very generous and easily serve two people. The mixed grill combo is my go to and would recommend it to those that are undecided or want to sample some of the areas traditional Brazilian bbq. No need to spend tons of cash on the all you can eat rodizo when this place has about all of it. I visited the little place about 6 times and was never disappointed! Try the garlic bread and chicken hearts, they both are amazing!!

Yelp
Food is delicious! It's nothing too fancy about this place apart from waiter/server wearing a vest. But food was well worth it. Meat was so amazingly prepared! And it feels like a drink bar more than a dinner place, in a very good way. You basically become semi-friends with the people serving you. So even if you are alone, you don't have to have a lonely dinner. You can talk to the guys behind the counter. They will tell you about politics, entertain you with jokes and make you the strongest caipirinha you've ever had. We went to few fancy places during our stay, but my husband favorited was this one, for both, food quality and the vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Fast service. Cold beer. Had the mixed grill and it was plenty of food for two. Beef was amazing. Chicken was a little salty but salty is common in Brazil I find. Great deal.
google avatar

Marta D.

Yelp
Great value for money at this local no-frills place. Good service, too. We had the steak but almost everyone was having the bbq chicken. Recommend!
google avatar

Anne Marie D.

Yelp
Disappointing visit. Expected great food after all rave reviews. Service was spot on but picanha was full of fat, chewy and definitely not the best ever...we tried to order wine which was in the menu. They did not have so we just had water. Our bill was R$110 with service charge. Would not recommend... even beach kiosk have been better quality
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
Delicious and economical. Tomato and onion salad went great with chicken and barbecue beef. And fast which was perfect for young kids.
google avatar

Yelp
I went here while visiting Rio de Janeiro for the first time. My girlfriend and I tried the picanha special. We were very pleased. The restaurant does not have a lot of seating. It is very small and the area of the street is not visually appealing but we found the food to be worth it. A good opportunity to try some local food in Copacabana
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
Amazing. We went to all the places to eat around the Sesc Copacabana hotel over the 27 days that we were here for the Olympics and kept coming back to this joint. Total local eats. Great food, simple, cheap. I ate galeto and mixed salad and patatas Portuguese and the rice with vegetables and the picanha and more. Def with a visit.

Yelp
Ordered the Filet Mignon, rice , beans and caipirinha for 75 Reals. Not a bad price at all for all of the food you receive. Everything is ordered separately. no-frills, small restaurant which are my favorite kind when traveling (no tourist traps ). Staff was attentive and patient as we tried to communicate through the language barrier. Definitely will stop by at least once every trip to Rio

Dee S.

Yelp
Out of our 2 week trip to Brazil and Argentina , this was the one meal that we will remember the best. The pecanha here will convert a vegan!! The chicken was moist and perfect. Even the rice was excellent. A very down to earth place, simple atmosphere, simple food. Seems like where the locals hang out. Nothing pretentious, just perfect food. The best pecanha ever . Did I mention that already? Worth repeating
google avatar

Yelp
Highly recommended! The please very clean, somewhat small but the food is AMAIZINGGGG! Ordered the Churrascaria an Braseiro... you better have hungry, that thing is huge! Order a brahma beer and everything was complete!
google avatar

Yelp
We went to this place because of the reviews online and I have to say that they were spot on. The place is tiny, with the majority of the tables along the counter itself - but the food and the service is impeccable. Not only do they have an English language menu, but the recommendation from the staff member was spot on - we had a grill mix for two people - with drinks it came to less than R$65!! An amazing price with food that was simply brilliant - you get to see them cook it in front of you and the portion size was massive. They even insisted on tableside service to spoon the sides onto our plates. Amazing for what is most certainly a restaurant mostly visited by locals. I feel like I've finally had some real Brazilian cuisine after visiting here.

Yelp
Valoraria o que comia à R$15. Me cobraram R$44. Filé de peixe frita com arroz. Foi uma facada mesmo.

Okebugwu K.

Yelp
The grilled chicken was great. I kept it simple by accompanying the meal with rice with mixed vegetables. The chicken did the talking. Also, price and value are great for copacabana in my limited experience.

Robert P.

Yelp
I've passed by here a hundred times and finally stopped in for a quick dinner. Bar stools and a counter so it's not to linger, but my filet arrived rare, a mountain of fries, rice, salad. Ok, it;s not prime filet mignon but well seasoned and quick. The galeto looked good also. Saw a mixed salad that was worth a try next time. For dessert, go over to Guerin on Nossa Senhora or a gelato. Cheap eats!
